I saw Tessa touring with Marillion in 1987 at the Hollywood Palladium, doing her diligent duty singing backup and dancing - looking amazingly lovely and distracting - during the Clutching At Straws tour. The final song was The Last Straw where she stepped up and belted out the most breathtaking "solo background singing" I've ever heard in my life. At the end of the song (which ended the show) ... after everybody was able to gather their senses from what they had just heard ... she got one of the most amazing ovations I've ever heard a vocalist get. I have not seen, even to this date, a person completely steal the show with one song as she did that night. Just WOW! I've loved her ever since.
This songs is by a Canadian group (MEN WITHOUT HATS) that started here in Montreal, Canada in the 80s..This song and the music video got alot of airplay here in Canada..
I reckon this is great, who else but Quo could get away with doing a cover of this!! I'm even considering doing this cover with our band, maybe a bit corny but people will definitely get up and dance, probably the same as they do do with The Proclaimers "500 Miles". And if your doing covers you should be doing stuff that people will dance too (at least in Australia anyway ;))
Nothing wrong with Quo doing Covers they always get slagged for playing the same tune, they do great covers they get slagged. they cant win. grrrrrrrrrr
Ah, he shows up a little later in the vid. Looks to me like none of them were plugged in, that's why it fades out. Perhaps live singing to a backing track?
Tessa Niles has sung with the great and good ,rock legends, live and recorded, she is a legend in her right...
I'm here because I've just heard her on The The - Out of the Blue & thought I'd look for more of her :)
She's gorgeous and sings so darn good too🥰
I never expected Status Quo to do a cover of this song - pretty cool =D
Man, does this woman bring so much to the party. Wonderful talent.
Tessa Niles, you've caught my eyes and my ears, and I recognize that up beat talent, O' heart too!!
❤Tessa Niles. Status Quo is awesome.
Great Song By The Awesome Status Quo
the most beautifull woman in the world, and if i wasn,t already captured, i would liked to marry TESSA
she was hot at knebworth 1990 with Dire Straits and at Live Aid with Bowie

I LOVE Tessa Niles - so under-rated / under-recognised
she has a book out now

It was a big hit in the UK, most of a certain age will remember it, it certainly not an obscure track...
Tessa is gorgeous, i first noticed her in the Concert for George . wowow
I always think of Rhino as the youngster of Quo, but recently discovered he’s even older than me!
Absolutely brilliant 👏.

A very slow song by Quo standards but performed with excellence..
"Status Quo" without hats .-)
Un Clásico Universal!
que grupazo interpretan bien la canción safety dance, bueno por ellos los status quo
Ok, I admit I like their version too...
Ok ok...kassoon and niles, oh Lord, just make one album, just one, with Katie and Tesse out front and all the guys in the background. Please.
Has this been overdubbed
@GiovaniB52 I was thinking that she's one of the backup singers on that Synchronicity video, I'm pretty sure of that.
Good song from sq
this is great

fancy tessa
Nothing wrong with Quo doing Covers they always get slagged for playing the same tune, they do great covers they get slagged. they cant win. grrrrrrrrrr

❤️ FRANCIS ROSSI 💓
buen cover de los hombres sin sombrero suena bien
R.I.P to Francis's ponytail...
Not heard of Tessa Niles until now.. clicked here because I thought it was the gorgeous Stevie Nicks.. Fleetwood Mac..
Who is better? Music or Tessa?
@CyborgEskimo Your at one with Andy old friend. He hates sythns - that's is why you wont see him play one.
You do The Safety Dance by pounding your fist into your crouch. It will keep you out of trouble for a little while anyway....
so she was the back up singer to the police at the time ??
i have answered my own question. its when there was a craze for dancing on pogo sticks
Original von Men without Huts, schöne Frauenstimme, doch das Publikum ??????????''
Oh dear.................
Where was Rick?
Ah, he shows up a little later in the vid. Looks to me like none of them were plugged in, that's why it fades out. Perhaps live singing to a backing track?
In bed
why is it called safety dance?
Didn't know Quo had done this song... weird
this isnt lipsynced at all :P
A new low for Quo
Wow! Have you guys NEVER HEARD OF DE-INTERLACING YOUR VIDEO??????
what the fuck were they thinking of???
Playback. What a shame
Shocking for quo this hated there 90s output except for rock till you drop
Change your pants 😂
whos on the accordion
It looks like Phil Cunningham, although the video quality is crap.
I think that's the great Geraint Watkins! (Mickey Jupp, Dave Edmunds, etc.)
@@mjschumaker Of course this is Geraint Watkins. I allready was a fan of him when playing Dave Edmunds' stuff. Search for the Promised Land !
@TheAlistairDick Just calm down.
From Piledriver to this shit . Rossi you killed Quo.
When you do a covers album it's normally because you owe the label an album, it's awful.
This Album was great , FITLC was crap.
WTF LMAO how cheesy LOL
How to kill a great song.
Thanks to the Donnas for making a ass-kicking version of it.
No way would Alan Lancaster are spud agreed to this crap
What male musicians? LOL Oh you mean the lads. They are just a bunch of "insecure little show offs"
Awful song, even the Quo couldn't make it sound good.
Simply the worst Quo offering EVER!
Tessa got fat, Rhino is a twat.
