    Great video. I sprayed the front and rear of on side of my car, same colour yesterday. Took over 4 and a half hours in all.Today I will spray the other two calipers. This really does change and improve the look of the car.

    Love the safety element, nicely done there.
    Not sure the calipers get hot enough to warrant that, but can’t hurt

    A whole lot easier and better if you remove the caliper bracket and leave the caliper connected by the brake oil hose. Place caliper on top of box and mask off surrounding area. I just finished mines yesterday. Also did not use primer, painted directly on surface after having cleaned and sanded surfaces.

    was one can of primer and one can of red paint enough ? or how many cans of each would you recommend

    • @newtouchauto
      @newtouchauto  8 месяцев назад

      1 and 1 will do the job, you should have enough to do 2 more vehicles.

    Is the paint still holding up to this day or did you have to do any touch ups?

    • @newtouchauto
      @newtouchauto  Месяц назад

      No touch ups needed when it’s done correctly, how you clean the calipers before spraying will determine the longevity.

    Definitely going to use your video when I do mine, but question? Should I also add a clear coat at the end or is that just personal preference. Happy holidays btw!

    • @newtouchauto
      @newtouchauto  Год назад

      Hey why not lol, Happy Holidays to you and yours as well. Since the aerosol can already has a clear coat finish there’s no need to add extra clear, I’m almost certain that by doing so you could possibly dull it down.

    Going to let you know...LISTEN UP..if you decide to do this please! Put plastic on entire vehicle you will get overspray on the entire car or truck i had to buff it out! Just be careful ...and paint thinner will not be good on vehicle but i also grinded and sand down every caliper flush..all dye joints from the molds looks awesome

    • @newtouchauto
      @newtouchauto  11 месяцев назад +1

      It’s always best to mask off all areas of the vehicle to avoid overspray, especially if you’re a beginner or trying this in a windy area.

      1 primer and 1 color coat, should be enough for 2 vehicles.

    Learn about thermodynamics... Breaks Galipers do not get super hot like everybody thinks... Unless you drive your car with your foot on the break and on the gas pedal... See it this way... When cooking something in your oven. When you touch the oven do you burn your hand ? No because the heated energy is in the oven. Not all over the oven.

    • @newtouchauto
      @newtouchauto  7 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts and you are right about that, here’s more knowledge to go along with your comment. The materials from the brake pads protect and prevent the rotor from heating up, once the brake pads wear down to the metal you’ll experience the heat extracting from the wheel area. When you hear the brakes squealing dust corrosion will then be created to warn you that the brakes are failing. Overtime the metal to metal will continue to overheat and land onto your rims burning through the paint causing pitting issues that’ll leave you having to repair or replace your rims.

      Right. If they get this hot the rubber would burn up and the siliglide stuff will burn away.
