I know DeWalt has more power but I love the Ridgid palm router. I plan on trying the Ridgid Brushless 18 volt palm router in the future. The SC50 is great for fine detail work but I use the profile bit a lot too on smaller letters. I wish I had you control. Also I missed whether 1/2" letterrs will be available. Another great video and a big help. The Queen is awesome and very cute too.
First of all, yes the queen is even cuter in person.... Thank you for the compliment on my control, you'll get there. Yes the 1/2' letters are available anytime. Just let Vicki know.
I just cut out 7/8" font letters yesterday and to carve them out using The SC50 for finer exterior lines(sharper corners).. Looks great on special Pine..(Fonts/Letters 3/8" W x cut 1/8" Deep).. .
Eric - very good demo and explanation. Seeing how the bits cut was definitely good instruction! Vicki - you two together is a joy to see. You said the two style shirts start at large size. What about us smaller guys/gals that need a medium shirt?
Great video guys. Always good information from you both. Vicki don't hurt him then you would have to take over the video lessons...lol. Keep a XXL grey T-shirt on the side for me until I place my order.
Vicki you are doing awesome in front of the camera!! Great job!!! I did't see you pounding on the table... lol. Can you get more colors on the t-shirts? Im thinkin' maybe...purple or pink?
Good morning!! Thank you for all your videos. I started following you guys about a week ago. Would you suggest the profile bit as the one to learn first; for someone just starting?
Thank you for watching. Glad you found us and like what we do. Yes, the profile bit is by far the most versatile bit, and our most popular bit. Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you eric@makeawoodsign.com
Instead of spraying the black or whatever color? I wonder if sometimes it would be prudent to either brush the color on I know it's not the primer or mask off around the letters to not have to do much sanding? I am asking this as I am going to carve some inset letters on a bandsaw box and don't want to do alot of sanding other than to finish the wood. ? And I like the pattern that the 60 gives.
Sure you can do that danny. Here's another idea. put masking tape down first. Do your layout on top of the masking tape. Carve through the tape. Then spray it... Then pull the tape off. You mat have no sanding at all... or very little.
great job Eric. have a stupid question to asked you. how do you keep the saw dust away from your router I have noticed on many of your videos. when I route seems like the sawdust piles up allot and seems for me to hinder me seeing the lines. would appreciate hearing from you . I am sure there is other people with this same problem. thank you so much.. stan mashek
Thank you Stan... I hardly ever have that problem. Lots of things come to mind that could be causing this. First, what router are you using? What bits? What wood and what the moisture content? Must be a reason...
Thank you Tom, Meryl Streep? Uh, never noticed, I think you're right. I can tell you for sure she's 100 times smarter than Meryl, but that's another story....LOL Shirts in Camo, O I'm all over that....Fantastic Idea....
The SC-50 is what I used to use before I found the carving liner. It stinks compared to the carving liner. The carving liner is so much better, you'll never cut with the SC-50 again...
This is in reference to the email I sent you a few weeks ago I'm wanting to you half inch Letters Out set but I have limited space in the area the wording goes
Good follow up video for 'Coffee & Questions 10/18/17'. Eric get yourself a soft rubber table, then you can pound on it 'till your heart's content...lol. Love the shirts.
It's nice to see you guys happy and having fun doing what you love with the one you love.
Thank you Alan, yes we do have fun...

Sweet V, don't cover for her, we all saw her pounding on the table, LOL. Talk to Vic, I'm sure she can get those colors....
Great demo! Would you use the 60 degree bit on most all larger inset lettering?
Yes most of the time. for really big inset letters I've used the 90 as well.

The Queen resembles Meryl Streep.
Lovely lady.
I wish you had the shirts in camo.

Great video and I second the request on Camo and Black, Black shows off my white hair nicely....lol
Good idea...
What's the difference between the SC 50 and the carving liner bits?
The SC-50 is what I used to use before I found the carving liner. It stinks compared to the carving liner. The carving liner is so much better, you'll never cut with the SC-50 again...
Which would you recommend to use if you had limited space around your words
This is in reference to the email I sent you a few weeks ago I'm wanting to you half inch Letters Out set but I have limited space in the area the wording goes
I would use the profile bit if it fits, if not the SC-50
I dont see the sc50 bit on your store. Is it the same as the carving liner?
No, the carving liner is a much better bit. This is an old video and we don't sell the SC50 anymore
At what depth would you say you are cutting the letters at?
Here are the depths that I cut. SC-50 .125, Profile .130, 60 degree .95
Good follow up video for 'Coffee & Questions 10/18/17'. Eric get yourself a soft rubber table, then you can pound on it 'till your heart's content...lol. Love the shirts.
LOL, maybe a foam rubber pad.... Thank you for the idea and for watching...
