Nice video! Happy to hear the Cleveland Guardians doing well as an Ohioan. I watched every game of that 2016 World Series and it really dissapointed me but at least we won an NBA championship 2 or 3 months earlier.
It’s just completely infuriating that the Cubs started off the season so strong and then Craig Council basically did nothing to help them win more games. It was so bad even Justin Steele was completely infuriated at the Cubs management.
@@homerunproductions162 Plus after this season because I really need to let go of Kyle Hendricks they have been holding onto him for way too long he’s getting up there in age and he has the worst ERA in his career
I agree 100% with your grades for both my teams the Twins and the Cubs. Twins offense is on fire right now but our starting pitching really needs to improve. Hopefully we can go get someone at the deadline. The Cubs have been so disappointing. The offense has been picking up as of late but even when they’ve had great nights the bullpen has blown so many late leads. There wss a stretch of almost 2 months where they didnt win a single 3 or 4 game series. But the only thing keeping them at a D- for me instead of an F is they also never got swept in that time in a 3 or 4 game series. They just kept taking 1 of 3 or 1 of 4, and a 2 game sweep of the White Sox but that’s the White Sox lol.
I agree the Cubs don't deserve an F just because they're still in a position to strike. The F is reserved for those whose season is toast, the Cubs have a pulse
The problem with the Yankees though is they don't have enough outside of Judge and Soto. The 2 of them are super humans, especially Judge, but the rest of the lineup is just not reliable enough. Jazz Chisholm has been great so far but he'll inevitably cool off. As long as he stays great defensively though, it'll just be what it is. Anthony Volpe has been heating up, but I'm just worried he will come back down to earth again soon.
Even as a Dodgers pessimist thanks to their playoff embarrassments over the last few years (so much so that I just am sitting this season out), I think you are underestimating just how good LAD can get in the second half of the season. It happens every single year. That false hope will be fed again to the fanbase. They will win 100 games, I can guarantee you that.
I would probably give the Giants a D+ but a C- is fine. We were told that our rotation would be top 5 in baseball, but we are easily bottom 10 and we are overworking our good players because our trademark depth dried up like a corpse in Death Valley. We just can't stop tripping on ourselves.
I would give my Braves a C at best. Pitching has been great, but their offense (even considering injuries) is better than what they've shown, but they're hanging in there. And now, with Eddie Rosario back, our good luck charm, who know what will happen the 2nd half.
D- is definitely deserved for the cubs, this year really feels like the inverse of last year wrt expected and actual performance. Watching 4/5s of the starters go out and shove nearly ever day and still lose has been rough.
It would be hard for the Brewers to have to face Skenes Mitch Keller and Jared Jones plus they have Aroldid Chapman to close the games plus Skenes is the best pitcher in the game
I know you added it in at the end, but when 3 of your 5 SPs are injured, it’s kind of hard to say it’s the same team you made a prediction on at the start of the year.
Injuries are the thing that makes predictions impossible. In baseball it's true but it's even more true in football, Mahomes goes down and that's a wrap on that
White Sox can make a run at the worst record after they trade guys, they currently have the 4th and 5th best pitcher WAR, so after they get traded just think how bad they can get. Can't wait for fan gets to pitch an inning games.
wait, what MLB have you been watching? Both the Phils and Indians have been pretty good for a couple years at least. Didn't the Phil's recently play in the WS? Getting to the playoffs most seasons is not "first time in forever that they've been good".
It would be cool to see your pre-season projections to see if you were more correct than the algorithms. That being said, it's actually crazy how mediocre the braves offense has been for a team projected to be 1/2 best in NL, imo they are a C.
the Cardinals were NOT projected to win 85 games...try 78. Also, the grade for the Mariners seems...inflated. They have had poor offense for several seasons and nothing is improving.
I can buy into the Mariners getting a lower grade espeically the way they're playing of late. But I checked several sites and they all have the Cardinals at 83.5 or 84.5 (I rounded up for this video)
Hot take Blue Jays will finish Under 70 wins and be the worst team in the mlb in 2 seasons they will finish under 70 wind because theyight trade vlady (1B) and Kirk (C) at the deadline they also might the Bichette and Geogr springer to free up some money plus Bicheyte is a free agent in a few years and has been awful this year
You could argue that Phils should have gotten an A++ but since they already had pretty high expectations I didnt wanna go over the top, like I did with the Guardians who were supposed to be a .500 team
Well they were given a mediocre projection and they're playing right in line with that. Did you watch their section in the video or just unsubbed based on the thumbnail?
We need to study just how underrated Christian walker is
Its hard to break into the ASG as an NL 1st baseman especially since Harper switched positions
Yeah Brandon nimmo shoul have represented the Mets he is doing way better than Pete Alonso

Teoscar Hernandez A+ for that home run derby performance!
Personally, I like it when you went by city name or team name in order
Yeah i was debating which way to go. Ill note your vote for last time

Despite the injuries, the dodgers are still in very good shape. A- works great.
If they had their full rotation plus Muncy and Betts you gotta imagine they'd be the best in baseball.
Good list
More accurate than others I’ve seen

@@homerunproductions162 it helps that pretty much everyone in the NL outside of the Dodgers Brewers Braves and Phillies is struggling too.
You and everyone else who can shake a stick needs pitching right now.

This video isnt about underestimating though, just their first half performance. This team definitely is dangerous when they get healthy

you should do a buy or sell mlb edition
If KC doesn’t have an A+ we’re going to riot. Edit. He gave them an A which is acceptable
Hard to give them an A+ now that theyre only a few games over .500 but still blasting past expectations
D- is definitely deserved for the cubs, this year really feels like the inverse of last year wrt expected and actual performance. Watching 4/5s of the starters go out and shove nearly ever day and still lose has been rough.
last year they had a really rough start also but came back to a point where they should have made the playoffs. could happen again
Cardinals are getting so lucky same with the rays
seriously they are absolutely outperforming their pythagorean W/L
@@homerunproductions162 yep, and every year at least one team does. This should cause you to ask if the formula is valid, but no one ever does.
The dodger have been alright as of late and Glasnow getting hurt isn’t helping us a long either Mookie and Yamamoto
Dodgers have been fine, not the elite super team we expected, but the injuries are really piling up on offense and pitching
@@homerunproductions162 yeah I’m just hoping none of the injuries are too serious and our guys can come back healthy
I don't care about whatever grading we are as long as my Astros make the playoffs.
they probably will. And it seems like Seattle is rolling out the red carpet to take the west
My postseason predictions AL, 1 Orioles 2. Guardians 3. Astros 4. Yankees 5. Twins 6. Red Sox NL 1. Phillies 2. Dodgers 3. Brewers 4. Padres 5. Braves 6. Pirates
Astros beat Red Sox Yankees beat Twins
Pirates beat Brewers, Braves beat Padres
Orioles beat Yankees Astros beat guardians
Phillies beat Pirates Dodgers beat braves
Orioles beat Astros
Phillies beat Dodgers
Phillies win the world series in 5 games
AL MVP- Jose Altuve
NL MVP- Ohtani
Pirates making it would be pretty wild, but I like the pick
It would be hard for the Brewers to have to face Skenes Mitch Keller and Jared Jones plus they have Aroldid Chapman to close the games plus Skenes is the best pitcher in the game
A++ I expected my team (Chicago Whitesox) to be this atrocious before the season
same

Do they give Z's? That'a what the Rockies should get.
Shane Bieber hasn’t been good in years
he was excellent in 2022 and last year he was pretty good despite his short season
