Hey guys, the ancient temple of Tirupperunturai is purposely hiding some very strange carvings. Nobody has ever seen or analysed these carvings, even though they are hiding in plain sight. Look above the main entrance, what is that?
A monkey and a lizard. What is the meaning of this? Are they just showing 2 animals fighting? This must be something important, otherwise why would they carve this on top of the main entrance of this temple?
What about this carving, what does this mean? Here you can see a monkey, but this is not a lizard, it is a snake. Look carefully and you may notice some very odd details in this carving. Why would they put these carvings in a temple, in a place of worship?
And what about this carving? A Lizard eating a snake. Look at this, the snake’s body is seen faintly here, what is the meaning of all these carvings and why did ancient builders carve animals like the Monkey, Snake and Lizard on top of the temple?
These three animals are symbols representing parts of the human mind. These three animals symbolize the Id, the Ego, and the Super-Ego of your Psyche. I know this sounds very strange, because these three terms were kind of invented by Sigmund Freud only in the last 150 years. Sigmund Freud who is the founder of Psychoanalysis, explained that the human psyche was like an iceberg made of the Id or the Unconscious, the Ego or the conscious self and the Super-ego which is both conscious and unconscious.
The snake represents the Id. It represents your pure burning desires and it can drag you into doing things you are not proud of. Sexual desires and aggression arise from the id. In Indian philosophy, the Id is referred to by various names like Kundalini, which is the raw, unbridled energy inside of you that is full of desires. Kundalini is usually represented as a Snake. While the feeling of burning desire is called Kundalini, the object of desire is called Maya, which is also represented as a snake. For example, if you are a man and you see a beautiful girl, you may feel a rise in your blood flow which is Kundalini, while the girl’s perceived beauty is called Maya.
Now, of course you can ask, Praveen why do you say the snake represents the id? Look at this carving, also found on the roof along with the other carvings. Very strange, isn’t it? He is holding the snake in one hand, but see what he is doing with the other hand? He is clearly getting aroused because of his primal desires. Humans don’t get aroused by holding snakes, you get aroused because of your primal desires or by the objects of those desires. And look at that face. This person is not in his conscious self, he is clearly in his animalistic, primal mode, completely lost because he is at the peak of his desires.
The id only cares about pleasure & immediate gratification and it tries to avoid pain at all cost. According to Freud, you are born with just the Id, the ego and the super-ego develop later in life. The Id is not logical, it can have contradictory wishes side by side. It wants to eat that cake all the time, while also wanting a pain free healthy body. In the western world, the id is sometimes mentioned as the devil on the left side of your shoulder. But this idea is a little bit flawed, because the Id can also be thought of as innocence, it doesn’t judge itself, it is like a baby crying in hunger, its desires are raw, and there is no hiding, no inhibitions, or judgments.

the reason for these ancient library were built on stone is for them to last everything, most of those knowledge inscribed in writing on payprus were destroyed by invaders or decayed. i am glad they were able to inscribe so much knowledge with simple but complex to understand symbolism.

Brilliant video, thank you, Praveen ❤🙏❤ As psychologY is my field, I especially enjoyed the id, ego, superego discussion! interesting also to note that Freud spoke about 2 conflicting psychic instincts which drive the ego: the life instinct (sex) and the death instinct (aggression/destruction/self-destruction). I think these themes are very prevalent in the carvings you identified 🙏 It is fascinating how early psychologists studied ancient eastern culture (Hinduism) for deeper insights into the human condition. Jung was another such individual, with concepts like the collective unconscious. I only wish these founding fathers in the field of western psychology had shared more about, and acknowledged, how deeply rooted their theories are in Hindu culture!!

Very good analysis.But currently most people don't even know what kundalini is tho it is the primordial dormant force of energy in everybody.IndiA was a master in kundalini awakening in olden days. That was the purpose of all education too Now it is lost due to bad education.v r taking pride in going to foreign countries and learning to b crooked.However I wish u had explained these sculptures in Indian context only.
What is both fascinating and charming, is the stories that are told by the carvings. As a Native American, I respond to this method. The glyphs and "notations", though not well understood in many cases, are well suited to oral histories.
The question we're unlikely to answer, is how far into prehistory do these stories go, to be so refined in their presentation here in stone a thousand years ago?

that was a really good explanation of sigmund's psyche and the human condition. if you read he's autobiography he does elaborate that the problems and tragedies of the world and mankind's dystopian future is the inherent flawed perception and inheritance of the fixed and detrimental mindset of the superego. The Superego, the subject of Sigmund Freud's final book on the subject of psychology explores whether or not civilization as we know it will survive and thrive or collapse and decay. The book is Civilization and its Discontents.

Bravo Praveen. There is a WILL of god above the ego, who steps in when needed (recall the thunderstorm, anti-theft car alarm & the nataraja in the video), to make things happen. I have always believed that Praveen Mohan is one of those souls who is working directly under the guidance of god, to reveal these hidden secrets that no school in Archeology or so called books of recorded history approved by colonial rulers can teach. So, if we are watching his videos, then we are blessed by the will of the divine to experience those truths. We need keep hitting the like button on all of Praveen's video, so that more and more "controlled minds" can break free and learn the real truths about consciousness.
