True. It's the one thing making me think about getting an M3p. The Air 2s is such a solid proven bird but the M3p is quieter and won't require the RID. These are big pluses for a casual flyer. I'm thinking of adding an M3p to my Mini 2 and Air 2s mini fleet. No one drone is good at everything. I'm even thinking of selling my beloved Autel Evo 2 Pro. It's more drone than I need these days but what a great camera!
There is a bonus #13 that I did not hear you mention. To me anyway it is a HUGE plus for the Air 2S. The gimbal is aluminum and not plastic like it is on the Mini.. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I didn't know the gimbal was aluminum on the A2S. The gimbal in the Mini2 and Mini3 is I think some kind of molded plastic. I've broken both gimbals. Luckily I was able to super glue both of them back in place and not bother with refresh. 8 months since my crash with Mini2 gimbal and it's still working fine. 3 weeks since Mini3 crash and repair without DJI refresh and going strong. Can't repair aluminum when it breaks! 🤷

@@froznfire9531 that’s debatable. The air 2 has the same pixel count, therefor the 3 pro has smaller, light gathering pixels. As you say, the 1.7 aperture may off set this. I’ll need to check out as side by side comparison.
Hi, I think you are right on many points. I think it has to do with DJI's policy. In Europe we have the rule that users of drones under 250 grams do not have to obtain any certificates to be allowed to fly and the drones only have a registration obligation. Drones under 250 grams also do not have to meet many European requirements. In my opinion, DJI is working on developing the best possible drone under 250 grams. Here they will achieve if they succeed, that a large part of the European amateurs and hobbyists will buy these drones.
I have a DJI Mini 2, and I was waiting for the Mini 3 to come out, to buy it. When it was released, I came to the conclusion that the Air 2 S was much better. Your video made me make the decision. Thank you very much.
I managed to find a STEAL for an 2s on Ebay . $720 shipped for a fly more combo … the drone had a fly log of 3 flys with stickers on .. essentially brand new . if you dont mind used, you can get a good deal
Lol you're letting a video make your decision. They're are two different drones. Like a car to a truck. New firmware for the mini only days ago. To compare the two and know which you need, you should try the two, not watch someone else TRY
you may cross out #11, newest firmware update for mini 3 pro allows manual settings now.. also if you have Costco membership, you can buy mini 3 pro with fly more combo for $840 US plus tax 🤙🏽
Air 2 S definitely better. I also love it because it's heavier and better in the wind, and because it's also compatible with the Air 2? Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
@@williamgollatz1911 It really doesn't bother me, because I fly for the love, and fun of it. I don't break any law's. Why should it bother me? If WE want beyond VLOS? There's going to have to be some kind of trade off? I'm good with that. I'm sure you can understand that? Thanks for sharing.
Slapping the DJI geo fencing out of the drone makes it so much better. It's not an easy process for the novice but if you have any software skills it goes okay. Just did it today for the second time on a second bird. Be sure to check out the Birdmap to see where your current Firmware matches up to the hack. Sometimes a restore to original FW is necessary to be able to upgrade it to the hacked version.
Can't wait until you mention the 50% more flight time and the low-light superiority of the Mini 3. I own both drones and the Air2s can't come close for night time flying!
Both drones aren't really in the same category. The need for a sub-250g drone is what really makes the Mini 3 relevant. I agree that the 1.7 aperture offers superior night time filming and I like the brighter image of the Mini 3. However, the Air 2S is definitely the superior drone overall, which is understandable since it occupies the mid-price slot for DJI. And in Europe (for legal reasons) the expanded life batteries are not available. So instead of comparing drones intended for different parts of the market and for different requirement, lets' just be grateful both models are available.
@@CaminoAir On the part of the subpar 250g part. If you just pay the $5 dollars every 3 years you won't care whatsoever about it being so small. I haven't really ran into any issues where yes the Air 2s weighs like 3x's what the Mini 3 does, and the flight time on the air 2s isn't as long, but on 3 batteries and getting almost 30 minutes out of each battery. That's a lot of flight time. I pull out the solar panel and my power station and after the 1st battery is done. Start charging and continue to fly. After an hour later and swapping batteries every 30 minutes I may not get a full balanced charge, but plenty of juice to keep on going for a good time longer. I'd think after 2 hours of flight time plus, I need a break!
I wrestled between the 2S and the mini 3. I think it came down to the weightier 2S for better wind handling. The one thing I wish it had was the ability to point above the horizon like the mini 3
I get a pretty good uplift on the camera with the Air 2s. It's higher with the Mini 3, but seriously, not everyone is going to use this feature that much. After a little play time, most probably will rarely use it, or use it because they can. Both Air 2s and Mini 3 Pro in my opinion are both great drones. I guess whatever floats your boat. Yes, the Mini is quieter then the Air 2s, because it is also a lot lighter. If your worried about crazy ass neighbors or crazies in general of either beating you up, or causing some sort of confrontation. Mini 3 might be the better option at least until every pilot has to use "Remote ID."
@@datamike00 Was flying with the Anafi for years too, really a great competitor to DJI. But since they never had an improved version, I went with the Mini 3 now and its also great.
RC pro does now work with the Mini3. And the higher resolution is great but you can’t shoot 60 fps in it. For portability and quiet operation can’t beat the mini pro3. For obstacle avoidance, I use my Skydio 2 and with the beacon it can’t be beat by either the mini3 pro or the Air2S… of course the camera on the Air2S is much better than the mini3 but the F stop on the mini3 pro allows for more low light .
Dronex factor your the best.... i bought the air2s with smart controller. B&h.. i also bought the autel evo lite plus. Thank you for all your great videos 👍
"#7 Tried, Tested & Proven" is the PRIMARY reason why I purchase drones that are a generation behind / last year's model. The majority of Bugs and other issues have been resolved coupled with being able to draw other people's experiences. It's nice knowing accessories and other support services that I use or may want is usually readily available. Works for me and that's the key.
AIR 2S is a great drone, but at least as far as Europe is concerned the MINI 3 does not need a flight license and this is a great advantage for many. I wanted to point out that the MINi 3 is now compatible with RCpro Greetings from Italy😏
Yeah its really nice. Because I myself have a license because I had a bigger drone before but now my friends or other people can fly legally with the drone aswell
I agree with most of what you’re saying. The one problem I heard is about the camera. You say to put it up to 5.4K or whatever it was for the best picture. The only problem with that is you have to have a device that has that resolution. If your looking at pictures on a 4K screen you will only see things in 4K. If your device is less that’s what you get.
I was facing that very question less than 2 months agp and hadn't discovered your video yet. But today I feel confirmed as the Air 2 S was my choice as well. I got a very sweet Black Friday deal on Amazon. Unfortunately it's been a bit cold here, and according to Canadian rules I'm not supposed to fly outside the specified temperature range. (Pssst - it works nicely as long as I keep the batteries warm and use my fingertips as thermometers - if they're cold, so is my drone 😉). Great video! I already love the Air 2 S.
Awesome... man can I ask you a personal question? I love all the drones, drones, drones. I have a few (Mavic Pro, Spark, Mini 2, Mavic Air 2 and new Mini 3 Pro... how can I review a drone? Keep up the good work Excellent 👏...
I was a mini 2 user and had a hard time deciding between the air 2s and mini 3 as an upgrade. I ultimately went for the mini 3 for because of price, vertical shooting mode, and portability. The mini 3 sports a lot of the features that you would of had to buy the 2s for like hyperlapse, active track, and obstacle avoidance. I think for the majority of drone users the mini 3 bridges the gap and imo will be one of their most popular if not most popular products. And the RC remote, I mean how can you not love this drone!
Welcome back your kicking out some good vibes today! ✨️ Lets add the live inexpensive video googles to the Air 2s it's puts the photographer in the perfect viewing location 👌
Happy drone pilote! My dji mavic air drone has all litiu-ion battery broken. And the stupid part is DJI do not make battery for DJI Mavic Air. The drone is very nice. I can't fly my drone any more!
I knew it from the date I received the mini 3pro, sold it and kept my air 2s , I wouldn't trust it in high wind at all, nit to mention the zoom in air 2s up to 8x in 1080P , I feel confident with it way more than mini , period 😀
There is still a lot to said for the Air 2S, even though its been out for over a year now. You make a lot of great points in this video. Thanks for sharing.
I suggest you reconsider buying the AIR2S. I had one and sold it to buy the mini3 pro….And I am VERY glad I made the switch. Same features, half the size, half the time to put it in the air, two times more fly time, better controller…the mini3 pro is probably the best drone actually on the market…!!
If you buy the package with the 3 backup batteries and spend I believe $50 bucks you can get a charger that can charge all 3 batteries at once. I bought my charger on Amazon. I love my Air 2s. I could fly between batteries and charge while flying. I could probably get well over 2 to 3 hours flying or more just buy swapping batteries and charging the next one. You don't have to wait for it to full balance before you use the next battery. Besides, flying for such a long time. You'd need a break at some point. It is all preference. I love my Air 2s and I think the Mini 3 Pro is a great little drone too. After all, they are both DJI and scream quality.
Just grabbed an Air 2S, because... it's the only DJI Consumer/ Prosumer drone I've never had. Pretty sweet. Shame they aren't doing much within it but it doesn't NEED much. Still like the Lite+ imaging more but there's a lot to like here. Came back specifically to get the brand of filters - couldn't remember "Kolari" - great comparison, even if some points didn't age well (RC Pro became compatible, the Shutter Priority/ISO Priority is on Mini 3 Pro now. It flys MUCH better than the little guy!
Hard to compare these two because Air 2s even though its older its in a different category, its a much bigger drone so you have to deal with extra regulations plus its a lot more expensive. Where I live its $1.3k for Mini 3 pro, and $2.1k for Air 2s! So of course it has to be better in some ways haha
This video isn’t taking into consideration of weight restrictions in many countries. The heavier drones are bound to be better, but in the uk they can’t fly over people, are restricted in cities etc. I brought the Mini 3 pro for this very reason. Obviously drones under 1kg have fewer restrictions, but my mini pro 3 has none other than obviously LOS and festivals etc.
Dont really know which one to have! I have the mini 3 pro right now, but its super weak. I really like the vertical camera from the one hand, one the other i would like to unlock the drone and have some really cool high altitude videos. can you crop videos vertically to air2 or they are shit?!
I felt the same way you did regarding no fan in the Mini 3 Pro. What made me change my mind was watching another video of a man flying his Mini 3 over hot lava. It had melted on the bottom and made it back in one piece. Sadly, he sent it off on its final journey filming it till it went down into the active small volcano. I chose the Mavic Air 2s and I agree with you on many of the differences. I haven't really cared about the advantage of the Mini 3 Pro being quieter nor the camera being able to rotate 90 degrees giving you the phone experience nor the camera able to angle up higher. That being said, what you share about the Air 2s I completely agree! I freaking love this drone!
This makes no sense to me. You do realize an internal fan on the mini three pro will not prevent lava in a volcano from melting it??!! it doesn’t matter what drone you have, if you get too close to hot lava, it will melt! end of story.
I really like the RC Pro controller, but I find the spring tension on the joysticks to be way too light. Also, I was recently looking at some uncorrected RAW photos taken with the Air 2s, and they look awful. Objectionable amounts of vignetting and pincushion distortion. The software is doing LOTS of correction for that lens.
The Air 2S does overheat in the summer. I put mine on a laptop cooling base with fans at the end of flying. It brings down the temps quickly. I have pulled the Micro SD card before using my cooling base and it was pretty much too hot to touch. The fan was trying, but flying in temps over 100 degrees for 3 batteries just pulls too much heat on the boards and drone.
Peace out an happy flying hope to see you doing some flying videos more with the air 2s, bro I believe you sold me on this drone an probably saved me some aggrevation
Like your videos👍🏽 Thanks to confirm my decision to buy an Air 2S instead of a Mini 3. Upgraded from Mini 2 and now I have the perfect gear for every situation.
I recently sold my AIR 2 Fly More Combo & Mini 2 Fly more Combo, & upgraded to the Refurbished AIR 2s Fly more Combo & RC controller. I was torn between the mini 3 pro & 2s. I think Im going to buy the new Mini 3 drone only non pro edition as a backup for $450 as I already have the RC controller & RC N1 controller.

Yeah but mini is mini which means less space in the backpack
@ Agree. I had a AIR2 S and sold it because mini3 pro brings the same quality and is so easier to carry and launch in every moment you like to capture, hiking or biking…
Good point. For some people that is a huge selling point even though the Air 2s isn't much bigger like the Mavic 3 is. I do like the extended time battery of the M3p.
I’m confused I have both drones but you have 2 different videos 1 saying the mini pro is better and 1 saying air2 s is better what’s your honest opinion???
The reason I have two videos is because my opinion doesn't matter. Everyone is their own individual that has different needs and wants, DJI understands that and that's why they don't make one drone that's better than the other, they made drones that suit people's needs and wants at various price points, and of course everything in life has a trade off and so does technology, for example most drones that come feature packed also come heavier and bigger in size, so it's better in features but not in compact and portability. Unfortunately we just can't have both in life because everything in life has a trade-off. With all that being said, the real question is which drone is better for you? You have all the information between both videos to help you make the best decision for you. For me, I went with the Mini 3 Pro and sold my Air 2s primarily because of the short battery life, and also because I have a mavic 3, if I did not have the mavic 3, I would have kept the Air 2s, so it all depends on what other drones you have too. See where I'm going, everyone is different, I hope this helps you to understand what's better for you.
Oh also,an the 250 or 249 grams thing I'm not worried about it where I live in the Eastern woodland of east Tennessee, miuntains,I just wanna take good video an pics of my camp adventures of wildlife an the beautiful scenery.
@@wayneberry3453 Thanks for the reply! Footprint is a term for 2 dimensional area generally measured in Sq Feet (Meters) Sq Inches (Millimeters or Centimeters). It could be a birds-eye view of a car, backyard or even your "footprint" in the sand. So in my example I was referring to looking down at a mini 3 Pro sitting on top of an Air 2s for example, looking at the relative size. Diminutive would have been a better phrase as I'm more concerned with 3 dimensional size. Wonderful journeys!
@@roadtripmitch uh gotcha. Normally I'd think "environmental footprint" was a bit concerned hehe. Drones are damn addictive :) thanks for the explanation
I'm fortunate enough to have both the Air 2s and Mini 3 pro (both purchased within the last 12 months). So I have a question... If the Air 2s was that good, why doesn't it weigh les than 250 grms?!. Answer, it cant, yet! So that's why the Mini 3 doesn't have a 1" sensor, or 'quick swop' rotor blades etc etc. But the Mini 3 opens up a whole new world of opportunities the laws disallow with a drone in a higher weight category. I'm also entitled to add, having compared the overall results of the 2 aircraft, Owning a Mini 3 pro comes with very few compromises!.

Very nice video. I like how you only said what was needed and didn't babel on about things, very informative.

How could you crash a mini 3 pro did u turn off obstacle sensor
@@nishatchotu I am a little ashamed to admit that I hand launched it perfectly into a face plant. Landed right on the gimble and snapped it. 😂 The maiden flight no less. And yes I am a professional 😂 😎 I figured I got it out of the way. I haven't crashed it since or been worried about it at all.
@@nishatchotu , kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk...😆😆😆😆😆😆
Did you mention sensor size? Air2 should be better in low light when the ISO is cranked up.
I didn't 🤦
Thanks for mentioning
Mini 3 has wider Aperture though and Dual ISO so its actually better in Low Light most of the time :)
DJI Air 2s. King Of Drone .👑
Can Waypoint Be Set from your Cellphone's Screen? Or Has the Mission Flights have to Be Set with the Drone in Flight only? Throughout the Remote?
Thanks!
I have a DJI Mini 2, and I was waiting for the Mini 3 to come out, to buy it. When it was released, I came to the conclusion that the Air 2 S was much better. Your video made me make the decision. Thank you very much.
When the Mini 4 comes out with sideways obstacle avoidance sensors, I will forget about the Air 2s.
Awesome video Xavier. You need some Air2 s in your life 🤣👊🏻👊🏻
you may cross out #11, newest firmware update for mini 3 pro allows manual settings now.. also if you have Costco membership, you can buy mini 3 pro with fly more combo for $840 US plus tax 🤙🏽
Where did you get the black controler from?
DJI
It's called the DJI RC Pro
The air 2s is my main drone... Loved the video!
Air 2 S definitely better. I also love it because it's heavier and better in the wind, and because it's also compatible with the Air 2?
Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
Will you love having the Remote ID requirements on your Air 2s next year?
@@williamgollatz1911 It really doesn't bother me, because I fly for the love, and fun of it. I don't break any law's. Why should it bother me? If WE want beyond VLOS? There's going to have to be some kind of trade off? I'm good with that. I'm sure you can understand that? Thanks for sharing.
hi man. could you tell me what you mentioned in point 5 about nfz can be removed in air2s
i want to know that too
Slapping the DJI geo fencing out of the drone makes it so much better.
@@underthedrone2735 thanks man. That will really help out.
@@JallezJaleel You bet.
I have a DJI Mavic 2 zoom the batteries have a swelling problem does the air 2s have this problem with its batteries?
Mini 3 now works with the RC pro as well and the firmware update this morning also improve the hyper lapse video
Can't wait until you mention the 50% more flight time and the low-light superiority of the Mini 3. I own both drones and the Air2s can't come close for night time flying!
Hmm. Real world experience with both.
@@BlueDroneBlues what’s brand of the solar panel you use to charge your batteries?
I wrestled between the 2S and the mini 3. I think it came down to the weightier 2S for better wind handling. The one thing I wish it had was the ability to point above the horizon like the mini 3
The Air 2s had upward gimbal movement from day 1. I think it's 10 degrees above the horizon.
@@BlueDroneBlues yea, but I had a parrot anafi that could go to plus 90, it was great for tracking birds. killed me that there was never an anafi 2
Great video.
You make some solid comparisons between these two drones... solid video ☺️
Hey mate. What city is that in the video?
New York City
Hello , What about the sensor size ? Air 2S has 1" sensor !

Excellent Tutorial Review Video! Well Done! Thank You Xavier.

I wanted to point out that the MINi 3 is now compatible with RCpro
Greetings from Italy😏
Yeah its really nice. Because I myself have a license because I had a bigger drone before but now my friends or other people can fly legally with the drone aswell
Maybe slightly off topic - sorry. I remember u were working on a LUT. Did you end up completing it and is that for sale ? Thanks
Good info and presentation.
You give the best reviews. Love your honesty regards
Crashed my mini 3pro and was considering the air 2s but noise made me order a replacement 3
Awesome... man can I ask you a personal question?
Great stuff thanks for sharing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pinpoint statement. Non-arguable. Great videos! 😎👍✌
I knew it from the date I received the mini 3pro, sold it and kept my air 2s , I wouldn't trust it in high wind at all, nit to mention the zoom in air 2s up to 8x in 1080P , I feel confident with it way more than mini , period 😀
Confidence is subjective. You're comparing a truck to a car lol.
There is still a lot to said for the Air 2S, even though its been out for over a year now. You make a lot of great points in this video. Thanks for sharing.
I am trying to decide between the two drone and this video has convinced me that the Air2S is the way to go, thanks so much for the 12 ways.
Thank you for making this great comparison video, it'll save me money on buying the 2S instead of buying the mini 3 pro!
Thanks I was thinking about trading my Air2s for a new mini 3
This video isn’t taking into consideration of weight restrictions in many countries. The heavier drones are bound to be better, but in the uk they can’t fly over people, are restricted in cities etc.
I brought the Mini 3 pro for this very reason. Obviously drones under 1kg have fewer restrictions, but my mini pro 3 has none other than obviously LOS and festivals etc.
I hear you, check this out this one:
ruclips.net/video/f721SQwMBA4/видео.html
Dont really know which one to have! I have the mini 3 pro right now, but its super weak. I really like the vertical camera from the one hand, one the other i would like to unlock the drone and have some really cool high altitude videos. can you crop videos vertically to air2 or they are shit?!
Thank you
I felt the same way you did regarding no fan in the Mini 3 Pro.
Mini 3 Pro is just a creative fun drone. Let see your Air 2S rotate its camera I’ll be here waiting. 🤣🤣😂😜
It's your choice
That too 💪
The Air 2S does overheat in the summer.
The Air 2 S is like the cord F 150 of the drone world.
The video that made me decide to buy air2s. For 800 euros with fly more combo, I think it's a good deal.Thank you so much!
U forgot that Air2s has Air sense, and built in led landing light too.
True 💪
Peace out an happy flying hope to see you doing some flying videos more with the air 2s, bro I believe you sold me on this drone an probably saved me some aggrevation

Yeah but mini is mini which means less space in the backpack
i don't need less space in my bag
@@geninolasco you don't but I do 😉
And also much less weight. If you take it for hikes or stuff, the difference really gets noticeable.
Nice Xavier. Yes you definitely need the air 2 s in your life 😂🤙🏻
Oh also,an the 250 or 249 grams thing I'm not worried about it where I live in the Eastern woodland of east Tennessee, miuntains,I just wanna take good video an pics of my camp adventures of wildlife an the beautiful scenery.
What about Air 3 vs. Air 2S?
Great video, new subscriber. Please excuse the beginners question, but aren't the areas you show around the city no fly zones because of the airports?

When a mini 3 crashes it’s camera face planets what you hit the air 2s has more protection for its camera
Mini 3 is my first drone it’s been amazing, air 2s with pro controller next
I transition from Mavics to minis as I like the small footprint. Safe Travels buddy!
Small footprint?
Mini 2 and Air2 S are bangs for the buck. Going forward, starting with the Mavic 3, DJI is no longer a bang for the buck.
Its not upward obstacle avoidance its pointed straight when the drone is at full speed tilting forward, they are basically forward sensors
I don't know if you heard FAMILY,,, but the insta 360 has a stich line in the middle or the camera...
No surprise but it can’t beat convenience and ease of use. I have both. Have been using my M3P more. Not really apple to apple.
Your opinion ! Your entitled to it offcourse!
mini 3 with that long ass 40+ minute flight time tho.
Will The New Remote That comes with Mini pro 3 work with Air 2s?
Hi , could you please advise which of these two drons better buy for beginner?
The 13rd. Air 2 S has SDK liberated to do photogrametry
