Another stunner, James. The days spent on the pre-shading turned out brilliantly....your work and commentary are so on-point and a pleasure to watch and hear.
Lovely build as always mate, every time I watch a video like this I tell myself I need to finish the Cunturion AVRE thats been sat on the shelf painted and ready for weathering for the past 2 years at least. Trouble is I didnpossibly the best paint job I have ever managed and now I'm too much of a wuss to go any further 😅
Cracking build James (as mentioned on FB) especially now watching it on my tele. Always impressed with your close up filming and your explanation of what you’re doing. I forgot to mention when I did mine and with it in flight I bought some AM 1/144 pilots which aren’t really visible but I know they are there. Keep up the great videos 👏🏻😁👍🏻
Thanks John ! I always try and get in close if I can, it's not good on the build end ( makes things a tad more awkward) but it's good for the viewer ! Pilots never even crossed my mind ( always forget lol )
That paint job really lifts the model into another dimension. I am a great fan of pre-shading but it does take a lot of time and needs a good airbrush, this said I have not used different pre-shading colours, but I shall now.
Awesome build, even though you had some issues! I both love and hate pre shading, I love the finished effect but hate there is no CTRL+Z option when you go too far! Great result and one of the few modern planes I’ve seen you make…inspires me to have a crack at my ‘72nd Tamiya SU-34!
First time I tinted a canopy I used the same method you show, however I too wasn’t very happy as the canopy did look a little foggy afterwards. However I them dipped it in Humbrol Clear and it looked great.
turned out nice...the contrasting paint under the main color really adds scale to a pretty large aircraft...have one of these kits as well, but don't know when i'll get around to building it...
Amazing restraint on the panel painting. I would have just blasted it with grey. 🙂 Need a 🍌 to show just how small this Bone is. Cracking build as ever. 😎
I'm forever putting glue in the wrong places lol! Another amazing build! My experience of Academy kits has been somewhat hit and miss, but it is good to see what they are capable of creating (and how good they look when you build them!)
That's because you only ever buy the cheap, old, sh*te kits. This was a brand new tooling in 2020. Who'd think that buying old crap kits would lead to an unfairly judged, bad opinion of a manufacturers kits?
@@madmemesbro who'd think that a company releasing cheap, old toolings in brand new boxes without indicating a tooling age on the box would lead to the manufacturer getting a bad review?
@@ModelMinutes Yes, partially true, but in this day and age with kit history being instantly accessible via Scalemates and reviews being everywhere, there is almost NO excuse for blindly buying a kit and then moaning about the age or quality.
@@madmemesbro I disagree. If a model kit company is not transparent with the tooling date on their kits then they are intentionally being misleading. Putting the responsiblity on the consumer to have to research the age of a model kit from a third party website and then blaming those who do not for buying the kit is just encouraging the model kit companies to continue this practice. If a company wants my custom, they are going to have to be more clear with their customer base and I will call them out on it every time I see it
I'm surprised to see it's still a decent size in 1/144th scale. You've done a great job there, I'm inspired to get one as the larger scales seem rare and overpriced. 👍&sub.
Thanks James, Now I have to get the B-one kit,🤣 In all honesty it's one which I do need to add to the stash.Your paint job really hits the mark and the tinting of the canopy really sets it off. My only gripe is no crew, I found that a couple of sprue gates cut, sanded and a quick paint make an excellent stand in for the pilots (I did that for Academy B52) for large aircraft 1/144 is great particularly newer releases. I hope you do the Academy B 52 at some stage, be warned even in this scale the wings length is huge.
Thanks mate! Yeah crews are always an issue, ( my issue is I always forget) b52 is huuge, I always fancied a tupolev Bear too, but lots to do in between now and then. Crew wise it might be possible to find some files to print and scale to 144th
I have to say, aircraft of any era are not my cup of tea, even if that is how I started a million years ago. Unfortunately, in my current man-cave I don't have much in the way of display space and aircraft take up so much room. Nevertheless, this was a very entertaining and excellent build, as always. Keep up the great work my friend.
I'm glad to finally see someone using the harlequin technique, it's pretty unpopular for some reason, but it leads to magnificent results, and I find it more user-friendly than using oils for color modulation. It works well on some ground subjects as well, like on track links, ERA tiles, flat surfaces with lots of plates etc. Do you think it would be a bad idea to use primary and secondary colors from the color wheel instead of color shades similar to the base color?
one of the loudest aircraft i've seen/heard, nice to see it in another colour than black too
Thanks ! Yeah they make a fair racket

What a stunner mate...fantastic preshading on there!

Great job. Really impressed with your approach to making the all over grey finish more interesting with the under painting.
Thanks David, it's a big aircraft to paint in one shade, I couldn't not do it, even if it took a while 😀
That paint job was well worth the effort.
Great work James.
The build itself is great, but i really like how you film very close. So we can precisely see what you do.
Thanks Romain ! Much appreciated 🙏
Nice video again James. You are even good at smaller scales and modern planes😊

The B-1B Lancer is a unique jet. Love jets.
James that is awesome. You're still my fav modeling site, your style and builds are sublime. Cheers

Thanks Andy, I know what you mean ! Having a undo would be super helpful! . Oo su34 would be cool 😮
@@lpjmodels I’ve had the SU34 for a while now, I think it’s time I actually did something with it!
Looks seriously good. Perfect scale for these large jets.
Thanks mate !
deranged paint fireman? never thought somebody would describe my paintstyle so precisely^^ great job
I hear you 😆
Lovely build, James 👍
Thanks for sharing always enjoy your builds!✌Canada✌
Thanks James 😊
Looks amazing dude! Iv been a bit tempted seen it on discord. Done well on the tint iv been struggling with that on a couple of builds
Thanks my friend 😄

Bannana for scale should be the law !
@@lpjmodels it's really hard to communicate just how small some of your builds are. They look manageable on screen but in the flesh.... tiny. 😲

Thanks Ferb ! I'm pretty strapped for space too so I know the feeling there will be more ground based things for a bit I think . Fancy a change
Painting is amazing. Wonderful effect.
Thank you so much 😀

I’m a big MRP fan I’m starting to use some of the race car colors.
They are excellent paint. Go down so smooth
Lovely
Thanks Paul !
I think you have to start a collection of 1:144th scale bombers! 🙂
Uh oh ! 😆
We get them here in Fairford sometimes..
That's where this one was based I think 🤔
Very nice👌
Thanks a lot :)
Great Bone.

i have a challenge for you , paint a model with one colour , no pre shading or motelling
But lots of oils on top right? 😀
@@lpjmodels only 1 oil
@@MartinsTrainsAdventures nah that would be a pretty boring build for me sadly.
