@@markfancher3 I am so sorry you have been through so much. I do not have a website. I am on Facebook. The link to the Facebook page is as follows: facebook.com/Life-with-a-Vent-113121960609175 I am not sure what topics you are looking for. I have 71 videos. You can sort the videos into date uploaded, most viewed and there are several playlists created. I understand the process of trying to figure out what you can/cannot do. I am still learning every day as my health waxes and wanes. Each person's abilities will differ based on underlying health conditions. For me, I have no issues with apples. I hope you can go home in the near future, and I hope you are soon on the path to better health.
Good evening I was just wanting to let you know that you might want to have your mom or dad start stocking up on distilled water. Here in California it’s not been available all the time. There has been a shortage of distilled water again. Hope and pray your feeling better in regards to the blood clot. Have a great weekend.
I can second that. They are having problems with purifying the tap water, because it uses liquid oxygen. That oxygen is currently being used for Covid patients, so more people are buying bottled water of all types, as a precaution. It has been declared in Florida and Texas to try to conserve water, probably in other places also. I think that's why people are buying it up from the stores.
Thank you for sharing. I also rest throughout the day. I work for two hours, then rest for one hour. Of course, each day is govern by my energy level so I'll rest more if needed. That's been my daily routine for a good part of 25 years. What are you going to do about the Trilogy recall?
Thank you for sharing about your daily routine. i contacted my durable medical equipment (DME) company regarding the recall. I was told to keep an air filter on my machine. The company is in the process of switching out all their Trilogy 100 machines to Trilogy Evo. The Trilogy Evo is not affected by the recall. My DME company did not know how long it will be until all the machines are changed. They started switching out the machines in 2019, but due to the virus, things have been delayed.
Oh, just another question. I was wondering if you can sleep comfortably on both sides or if you have to just stay on one side because of the ventilator only been on one side? Thank you!
Hello. I can sleep on my right or left side. I have to stay near one side of the bed because the air hose is not extremely long, but it is long enough to allow me to roll over in bed.
I've been watching your videos since January. I ust a Trilogy ventilator for travel, and I learned about the recall. I'm curious. What are your DMEs and physician planning for you in regards to your ventilator? I'm working with my DME. So far it looks like I'm stuck with my Trilogy for portable ventilation. At home I use an LTV 1150 ventilator. I may end up having to take it with me to go, but I'd need something to carry it in, because right now it's mounted on it's pole stand. I could remove the humidifier and use a dry LTV circuit, and put that big LTV vent in a suit case and lug it around with me everywhere. But I'm taking this Trilogy recall VERY seriously! What are they planning for you, if you don't mind answering this!
Hello. My DME company is doing nothing about the recall. I was told to continue using an inline air filter, and it will be fine. My DME company said they are in the process of switching the trilogy 100 vents to the trilogy Evo. They started exchanging the vents in 2019, but due to the virus, it has been delayed. It will be a long process, but it should be completed in the next 5-10 years. Until then, I continue to use my trilogy 100 every day.
Yes I suction. If you would like more information about suctionin or would like to see how I suction with a ventilator, please see the following video: ruclips.net/video/g20GTuhC1zM/видео.html
Thank you for your answer. I think zI am trying to ask do you use the saline Nebulizer before suction ING, or separately. I was taught to squirt the saline directly into the trach tube - yuck. The Nebulizer seems much more gentle. Thanks again.
@@mysticnight013 Hello. Thank you for the clarification. I use saline in the nebulizer first. If needed, I will then suction. It is common to squirt saline into the trach tube and then suction. The saline helps loosen the mucus. After I got my trach, I read a respiratory therapist's observations he made on his trach patients. He recommended running saline through the nebulizer first and then suctioning. This is much less stressful on the trach patient and also seems to do a better job loosening the mucus.
Since the ventilator is portable and has a battery, wherever I go, the ventilator can go too. I sit in the car and have my ventilator on the floor next to me. When I leave the car, the ventilator rides along with me in my wheelchair.
That makes a lot of sense. Sorry to bother you with that question. I know you probably have a lot of people who comment questions pretty similar to mine. Question are you allowed to have pets around your ventilator or would it be too dangerous just wondered. Hope you have a nice day take care.
@@livfellows5960 Thank you for your questions. It is not advised to have animals which shed hair such as dogs and cats around the ventilator. The hair and dander can get into the ventilator and cause issues. Other pets such as fish and iguanas are ok to have.
