If the frequency reading isn't correct on your SF-401 PLUS you can change it in the menu. Go in the menu to Frequency Offset +/- 99. You can adjust the reading with + or - to the exact value. Good Luck
I won this last week, thank you and it arrived today. Perfect toy for me right now as I am trying to program an older radio with my current Freqs/PL Tones/Memories. This will make it much easier than going in and out of the menu for each channel I have saved in memory. ANYWAY, I was testing it with my FT60 and learned that the FT60 does not transmit the PL Tone while in the charging cradle. Learn something new every day. Thank you again.
When you have a screw like that, sometimes you can pry with a tiny flat jewelers screwdriver while you are turning it. I can see why you didn't bother. But if you really needed to get it out, sometimes that works.
👍🏻. Thanks for the video... Great little unit. I carry one in my test gear bag... a lot lighter than my Agilent spec analyzer ... RECOMMENDATION: Check out the “RADIO ID” mobile application. (It comes in IOS & Android) It decodes MDC600 / MDC1200 / Modat / Pocsag / and... QC2 with long tone group call... Fantastic little gadget from Surecom and the app is a great sidekick.
Distance is less than 15inches is not good enough. You are sitting in a car at a stop and a police car is in front of you. The cop is seen transmitting. I want to hold a Frequency counter in my hand to see what frequency the cop is transmitting on. Is there such a FREQ/COUNTER that will do this? I would say up to 10 feet away.
Yeah this device probably won't do that because there's too large metal objects in between and it ugly worked at about 15 inches. A police scanner with close call with the ideal

Oh yeah, that's a good trick. I forgot about that one. Thanks Bill!
I have the swr of the same brand and it works ok. But you can't beat the price for value.
How far can you be from source? I like to listen to the retail store radios
What’s the difference between the 401 and 103 models

Will this work with 11m cb side band?
I sent away for this today. Thanks for the review.
Test with mobile phone freqs?
Good toy but much better have small speaker to listening. Like a scanner have.

It does a decent job. I love the color display for sure
@@HAMRADIODUDE I have a jetstream that doesn't do too bad. But display is hard to read
Good video. Helped me a lot!, Thank you very much!
SureCom SF401 PLUS looks nice, I could use it to test my radios:)
Most frequency counters start at 100mhz

Interesting. I'll be sure to look for it (Don't have my phone on me at the moment) and give it a shot. Thanks!
Cool little peice of kit.
Nice video
Thanks No Code!
why would I use one of these when I can just look at the VFO of my radio?
To see if your radio is on frequency and scan for tones on unknown radios.
It has a attenuator
Thanks!
Does it decode incoming? Lets say you hear talking can it pick up the frequency and their ctcss/dcs codes.
If I remember correctly, yes. But I did a giveaway and sent it to the winner, so I can't confirm correctly.
