I left Judaism and converted to Islam in 1998 and I do no regret my decision. Islam has taught me mutual respect and the art of forgiveness. It has made me a better person. Islam means total peace and tolerance with yourself, and peace with God.

Beautiful story ! My wife is an ex Christian , I've known her for couple years before we got married . Her family was against our marriage because i was Muslim immigrant . She supported me and i helped her mentally and financially . We started from the bottom back in 2007 and now we have 2 beautiful kids a house and a good income for both of us . Her christian family now loved me and respect me and my religion , i always helped them and was for them all the time . Islam is religion and way of life and i'm happy for you sister . Allah is the Arabic word for God (with an upper case G), the creator. Jews call him YHWH, Hashem, among other Hebrew names. Syriac Christians call him Allah, too, since it is God's name in the Syriac language.

And then in Sura 4:34 “Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], hit them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.”
Here is how loving Muhammad was towards all the other people of different religions:

And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

Kill those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.
Here is what muhammad said about greeting others:
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying:
Do not greet the Jews and the Christians before they greet you and when you meet any one of them on the roads force him to go to the narrowest part of it.

Important about Islam is that the Quran is magic! The Quran heals ur hearth and soul.
The (القرآن) Quran is the word of الله God (Allah).
Allah الله say's in the Quran (القرآن):
الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۗ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ (28)
One translation (by humans (a human being) to English):
28. Those who believe, and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of God. Surely, it is in the remembrance of God that hearts find comfort.”

So it's not magic, it's Allah's remembrance.
The Quran was sent down by Allah الله in the arabic language. So every wording and the way you say it and things I don't know from the Quran all came from him.
When i say him, it is only to refer to God الله, but he has no gender.
فَاطِرُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَمِنَ الْأَنْعَامِ أَزْوَاجًا ۖ يَذْرَؤُكُمْ فِيهِ ۚ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ ۖ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ (11)
11. Originator of the heavens and the earth. He made for you mates from among yourselves, and pairs of animals, by means of which He multiplies you. There is nothing like Him. He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
My point is humans no matter how much they perfect themselves they can never achieve God's الله level of speech. So the English version is just to understand or an attempt to understand the words in English.
But الله Allah's words القرآن the Quran came from him in the arabic language, and from it there is no human intervention, it's all from God الله, and from it can you get that magical thing you meant which is Allah's remembrance زكر الله, the translation might be limited i don't know, but in arabic you can feel it in your heart, it is straight from God to you with no intermediaries.

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا وَصَرَّفْنَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْوَعِيدِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ أَوْ يُحْدِثُ لَهُمْ ذِكْرًا (113)
113. Thus We have revealed it an Arabic Quran, and We have diversified the warnings in it, that perhaps they would become righteous, or it may produce a lesson for them.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّتُنذِرَ أُمَّ الْقُرَىٰ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَتُنذِرَ يَوْمَ الْجَمْعِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ فَرِيقٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَفَرِيقٌ فِي السَّعِيرِ (7)
7. Thus We inspired you with an Arabic Quran, that you may warn the Central City and whoever is around it, and to warn of the Day of Assembly, of which there is no doubt; a group in the Garden, and a group in the Furnace.

إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ (2)

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
1. Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the Verses of the Clear Book.
2. We have revealed it an Arabic Quran, so that you may understand.
الحجر Al-Hijr
مَا نُنَزِّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوا إِذًا مُّنظَرِينَ (8) إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ (9)وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ الْأَوَّلِينَ (10) وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ(11) كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ (12) لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ ۖ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ (13)وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فَظَلُّوا فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ(14) لَقَالُوا إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُورُونَ (15)
8. We do not send the angels down except with reason, and they will not be held back.
9. Surely We revealed the Message, and We will surely preserve it.
10. We sent others before you, to the former communities.
11. But no messenger came to them, but they ridiculed him.
12. Thus We slip it into the hearts of the guilty.
13. They do not believe in it, though the ways of the ancients have passed away.
14. Even if We opened for them a gateway into the sky, and they began to ascend through it.
15. They would still say, “Our eyes are hallucinating; in fact, we are people bewitched.”

The Qur’an tells us: “not to make friendship with Jews and Christians” (5:51), “kill the disbelievers wherever we find them” (2:191), “murder them and treat them harshly” (9:123), “fight and slay the Pagans, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem”
(9:5). The Qur’an demands that we fight the unbelievers, and promises “If there are twenty amongst you, you will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, you will vanquish a thousand of them” (8:65).
Allah and his messenger want us to fight the Christians and the Jews “until they pay the Jizya [a penalty tax for the non-Muslims living under Islamic rules] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued” (9:29).
Allah and his messenger announce that it is acceptable to go back on our promises (treaties) and obligations with Pagans and make war on them whenever we find ourselves strong enough to do so (9:3). Our God tells us to “fight the unbelievers” and “He will punish them by our hands, cover them with shame and help us (to victory) over them” (9:14).
The Qur’an takes away the freedom of belief from all humanity and relegates those who disbelieve in Islam to hell (5:10), calls them najis (filthy, untouchable, impure) (9:28), and orders its followers to fight the unbelievers until no other religion except Islam is left (2:193).

@rod of discipline are you trying to say that is the experience of most reverts? It's not true. We have alot of reverts friends and we love them and favor them with things. However, there are some cases of that type, which is sad. But the muslims community treats the reverts the in a lot of good ways as soon they hear about someone being a revert. It is obvious that the reversion of a person is not a guarantee that life will be rosy. Most of them get into tests with families, friends, etc. So, it is normal they need help and muslims try and work harder on that side. But as they all know, nothing comes without a price. And they know that it s worth it. A little struggle knowing that you are guided is better than having a rosy life style but lost. May Allah give us and them strength to pass the tests of life. My wife is a revert and is not Arab or middle Easter. And we have kids , and we are doing well , Alhamdulillah.
You are true in your heart. You are inspiration for not just the converts but for the renewed muslim. It is really an inspiration to know the story of you like people when you were struggling to express your feeling about your conversion that struggle expresses a lot listening to you filled my eyes with tears.
