Hi btemple, Yes you should there are only 3 videos on RUclips. That one would be the forth. Once these are phased out Other reviewers may never get there hands on one. Cheers mate
Great unboxing video there Pete ! Having had many of these over the years , i can say this one was packaged very strangely . It’s complete for sure though components are in incorrect cartons / plastic boxes . Still , it’s a lot of food for sure even divided between 5 people ! I do miss the fruit cake they had in these prior to 2015 . They also used to have 2 x 500 gram Sliced Potato retort pouches but these were replaced with mashed potato powder . The sliced potatoes were great because you could make cut chips with them which was great 👍🏻 The old ten man rations were great but i doubt many would have survived being entirely canned food . I do recall it being quite heavy , particularly when carrying it in a pack for 20 + kilometres !! Looking forward to your taste test of the CR5M components in your next upload Pete 👍🏻 Congratulations on 300 subs as well . Keep up the great work , Rob 😁
Hi Rob, maybe the guy who sold it to me unpacked it all and then repacked it. either way looked like most of it was there, I wish they had the potato that would have been awesome. i hope you enjoy the the cr5m, Cheers mate.
@@pete_review Yes Pete , perhaps they did . Certain it was complete though . Yes , slicing the potato into chips & shallow frying worked a treat 👌 I shall mate . Thank you so much for offering it to me 👍🏻😃
First review early Sunday morning here on the East Coast US. Nicely produced unboxing! Sunday usually ends with the weekly review by Michael Green in the UK.
Hi Mark, Yes i normally get my videos out mid week, But i have been editing this and the next video back to back for 3 days, was keen to get it out, Cheers Mark
G'day Don thanks for your feedback, on this review. I would have filmed it but maybe I had to cut it out to keep the video short as possible. Cheers mate
In the mid 2000's fresh ration indents were canned and most units were force issued these in lieu for 2 weeks to clear old stock. We were feeding 120, not popular with the troops or cooks. Same thing happened in 1995 with the10 man rats but that went on longer, the only good thing was that we had bread, pasta and rice supplements also 3 days fresh every 2 weeks.
Hi Glenn thanks for your story, I would imagine there would have been that transition period in between, I would love to see a complete 10 man I am hoping someone finds one in a shed one day a sends to be to review. Cheers Glenn
Marmalade, Peas and Tomato soup, what a cursed menu ! 😜 I can't believe they're still packing the diced fruit in cans instead of retort style pouches !😩
These are awesome!! What would be the advantage of these vs 5 CR1Ms? Seems like they would be the exact same? Speaking of, I’m going downstairs to grab a CR1M to review this week!!! Haha great video!!
G'day CT, there are some shared components that ate in the CR5M such as the peas corn carrots rice large fruit cake, plus some others. I guess it's like a home cooked dinner with all the vegetables ect. As far as I know the cr5m was discontinued around 2017. I have never seen another cr5m after 2017. They just use the cr1m is stead. Cheers mate
Hi Jessica, these are rare rations in deed. I can't say exactly where I got this one from, but all of them are taken from an army base and then sold in the black market. I haven't seen any since I got that one. They're discontinued now and 2017 was the last year as far as I know. Cheers mate 🇦🇺
G'day Kevin, The cr5m is a huge ration, lots of options, but going forward they discontinued it and now they just use cr1ms. Thanks for watching and commenting, cheers mate
Nice unboxing Pete. I am partial to the components. My favorite bread in any army, or civy ration pack along with vegemiye and cheese is just perfect breaky or anytime food. I was told they are doing away with the CR5M and only utilizing the CR1M.
Hi, yes it seems like the Cr1m is a better light weight option, Allows for more variety, And i imagine the guys probably chuck out half the stuff anyway. Thanks for watching.
Hay they you got shorted ketchup and rubber bands, and I would think that they would at least put in 2 Rice. The Australians trying to save a buck. LOL
Great stuff man!
Seeing this makes me want to do an unboxing and review of my 2nd CR5M, it's a completely different year and menu.
Hi btemple,

I'm not big on rations outside of North America but wow this is one I'd love to get my hands on. It looks like a banquet. Nice review.
G'day mate yeah they are a awesome ration. As far as I know they have been discontinued.
Thanks for watching and commenting

G'day thay have dumped the fruit can a few years ago, now all you get is the cheese tin.
Once that goes I guess the Fred is useless and it will go too
@@pete_review Nooooo not FRED ! 😲

@@pete_review ah ok! That makes sense then. Haha
That looks awesome! You could even make some rat packs for trade out of some of that stuff too. Great video.
Hi Su,
Yes most of the ingredients are the same as the cr1m.
except the rice, peas, carrots and corn.
thanks for watching
That's so cool Brother!
Thanks Sean, it really was awesome

G'day mate unfortunately you don't see them anymore last year was 2017 as far as we know.
Thanks for watching cheers
🤣 I'm more interested in these ration backstories, it's gotta be some story how a 5 person meal fell off a truck!
Hi Jessica, these are rare rations in deed.

Enough varity to stop it being too boring on exercise.

wow your the man
I wish I could get one.
Hi Chris, I dont think they are still in production so they will be getter harder and harder to find.
Thanks for watching, cheers
What ? Nothing to warm them up ?
Hi Bob no nothing.
You would have to boil all those retort pouches if you wanted a hot meal.
Cheers mate
cool
Thanks John.
