No doubt, Ohio U has the absolute BEST College Marching Band in the country!! Congrats to all of those that have been a part of this great Band for so many years. It seems what many started at OHIO U many years ago is being continued to this day with precision and excellence!!
While I was in the Marching Men of Ohio only until 1970, this is the same pre-game show we did in 67 on. Great memories. Note how Stand up and cheer has changed over the years. One of the best bands in the country is shown on this vid.

I was a wet-behind-the-ears sophomore during this performance. Talk about being transported back in time. It seems like only a week or two ago, at the most. Everybody played - not a slacker in the bunch.
Mr. Socciarelli did not come to Ohio University until the fall of 1973. Thomas Lee was the director of the Ohio University Marching Band from 1971-1973.
My first steps ever taken on the Peden field. This freshman was terrified and exhilarated simultaneously at the experience!
My senior year. I can still sing every note!

Gary Knopp do any videos exist of the band before 1971 when they had a drum major? Or perhaps back in the white jacket uniforms?
