A really powerful thing you can do with elderdragons that have tall wings is to clutch onto the wing on a clagger, dismount into R2 which chains into widesweep then wrymstake. The R2 gives you enough directional control to hit the head right off the wings. Its faster and does more damage than dismount into double shell wyrmstake
This is a really gimicky stupid playstyle but it's such a dumb fun type of playstyle, aerial frostcraft gunlance...... using glider mantle, you clutch on face, wound it, then clutch on face jumping slap, full burst, reload, clutch on face, jumping slap, full burst etc etc. It's not effective but it is kinda fun
clutch attack does full reload, it does help with when you are a bit far so the clagger is not wasted and you have empty shells and stake. ironically I prefer long and wide over normal. constant full bursting made me play over aggressive, while wide is poke shell is very safe and you can kinda do every combo decently with long.
I recently gave World a try after being a predominantly GU player and the struggle with being a Gunlance player is the fact that playing online is so handicapped due to other players being knocked around by shelling. I prefer shelling. I mean, if you don't use the Gun part of the Gunlance, why not just use Lance instead? Anyways, when I tried World I found myself full bursting all the time, but it does leave me open quite a bit and as a Striker Wide Gunlance main in GU, this poke-shell mode fits my play style better. Though, I wish charged shelling was easy to pull off in World as it is in GU, but what're you gonna do.
This is great! There are many strategies I'm not familiar with having mostly played MHGU low-high rank stuff, but definitely makes me want to play the wide gunlance again (I'm still not even sure how they altered the various gunlance shell types from GU to World, but I know they did). I was always a fan of the Striker Wide Gunlance in GU as it was a poke->charged shelling->reload->rinse-repeat play style.
I also use Ruiner as a way to derust myself with a weapon, much in the same way I fight Valstrax in Sunbreak, haha. And hey if I’m gonna practice a weapon, why not also get a Great Spiritvien Gem while I’m at it? And while I miss blast dashing whenever I see myself giving Gunlance in World a play, it feels just so nice to blow shit up in both of them.
@@CarpetCleaner21the thrust is very fast actually. It's the slaplance that's very slow to combo with. Which is the upward thrust into overhead smash (optional is with burst) into wide sweep. Which is painfully slow (my kinda playstyle).
Wide is my least favorite of the shelling types, almost universally in every MH game. Normal, ironically, is the most fun for me. Long being a close second. If the WSB and Blast Dash both come back in Wilds, I wont ever put the weapon down.
It's a very comfy playstyle compared to other 2 with higher risk combos. That's why I like it.
Coming to gunlance from lancelance it feels the most similar to use for sure.
I can’t keep letting you influence all the games I play. I’m getting back into world after all these videos and I’m remembering why I loved it so much
nothing wrong with that LUL

does this work for any shelling type?
@@andrejhofer2007 Yes, there isn't any shelling in this combo
@@Shrade-0 sick, good to know, thx man

Blam! Blam! reload
Blam! Blam! reload
Blam! Blam! ka-shwing - powpowpowpowpowpowpowpow KABOOM

Poke Boom! Poke Boom! reload

Hey question what do you use the spiritvien gems for? I have so many
@@rollinallonce Higher tier augments and a good number of layered armor sets.
how can u do the move in 1:34, thrust thrust then finishing move ?
For another wide shelling option. Farm kulve for kjarr buster bomber. Definitely one of my favorite G.L's. Explosions everywhere
I love wide shelling!!!!
Clutch Claw'd twice in the span of about 30s is peak Iceborne
I fought two different tempered monsters in the guiding lands on two different sos
Why's the quality option blocked?
Why didn't you re-tenderize? Does shelling damage not scale when the monster part is weakened.
shelling ignores hitzones, you only weaken with slaplance really or to get slinger ammo for the shelling playstyles
I'm quite a noob on MH, when the monster is staggered, why does he grab on his face and just jump down immediately?
When a monster recoils back and drools you get 6 seconds to hit them if you clutch claw onto them it resets those 6 seconds of free time
Do you use mods? If so which ones do you use
I dont use mods

Im pretty certain its the controller or my brain not actually pressing it, cause the same stuff happens in rise
