I owned and loved the U K version called the R S 125 and had many laughs back in 1983 when I was 17 . Then a year later I bought a Mars bar coloured RD 250 lc when I passed my bike test and I still have my pride and joy.I can't believe what prices the original bikes are these days.

My first motorcycle was a 80 model in 81........ I purchased an exact same one in 2012 and did a nut and bolt Resto in 2016.....I was puzzled as to why it didn't have the top end speed as my first one in 81.….... Then I realised I was 25 kilos lighter back then😂😂😂😂😂😂

Hey mate I got a lot of my parts from eBay and they where mostly reproduced parts from India, and if your looking for a piston kit make sure you buy for RS125 not RX125 pistons are different. Watch my other videos on this bike and you will see. Cheers

Hey mate i am currently doing a rx125 and have the top end in the shop, they are needing to do a rebore but can't find an 2nd oversize piston, where did you order from if you dont mind

      Hey mate
I bought one from India on eBay 0.5 oversize but the crown height was 5mm shorter than the piston in it so couldn’t use it. Turns out the head bolts were loose and the head gasket was leaking, since I have reassembled and it doesn’t sound to bad even though the ring gap was quite wide and has good compression so that’s the way it’s staying until I find the correct piston. This piston is 65mm in length and I think the one that’s in the bike was 70mm

@@rechargegarage8705 fyi, the bike shop doing the motor have found a piston in Taiwan so full steam ahead, 1.75 oversize. As soon as I speak with them i will find out who the got it from for you.

@@rechargegarage8705 & @kellsud1 my mate has one of these and I have been looking around...there is a place in the UK called yambits that seem to have oversize pistons and rings...I think the piston was only 0.5 though. Awesome resto by the way loved watching EP1 and heading over for the rest.

Gday mate, bit of an odd thing to get the correct piston for as I ordered a kit for a RX125 and the crown height was wrong as in the previous thread but when I got it registered I found out the engine prefix is actually a RS125 so ordered another one 1.00mm oversized off eBay and it’s correct same height so just be aware, if you measure the overall height I will compare against mine and can tell you what to order.
      Good luck with your build.
