kudos to KBC and Fastcut for sponsoring Karl -
you couldnt pick a more worthy and passionate maker to support.
At 19:00 I had the biggest laugh when a hand came out of nowhere to hold the bolt down. Straight away I'm thinking "Thankyou Thing" from The Addams Family show. All of a sudden, you're no longer working by yourself. Love the work Mate as always. Cheers Billy J..... Queensland, Australia.
😂👍🇨🇦
😂
Hahahah so good !
I thought 'Oh, Karl grew a third hand' lol!
🗿💨a third had can be very handy at times ✌️
Beautiful work Carl as always
Karl I can’t stress this enough, you must start wearing a respirator more. Your lungs will thank you later, trust me. Great job on the sway bar. Your fabrication skills are only surpassed by your welding skills. Stay safe.
Great job on the sway bar mount. Those new tools are super cool. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
Any friend of Brent is a friend of mine . Great content as always Mr Fisher. Thank you for your efforts
Much appreciated
Your shop now looks like a showroom for KBC tools! Good job.
Man you made my day. Finally meeting royalty ❤. Meet day of my life!! Such a buzz
Hey Karl,
Very professional looking when finished.
I was hoping to see you jump across the frame again after the sway bar was installed.
Early into the video when you crossed the frame there was a great deal of rock with the truck.
Good video explanation of how a sway bar works and how to set one up.
Take Care
Hahha ya that woulda been a good accidental comparison
Correct any thread deformation from rosette welds by re-tapping them.
Yea that’s the way out!
Another great video. I appreciate the layout guidance - half the travel should definitely be a t-shirt. Keep rockin it Karl.
Hahah good idea
It's coming along nicely, that sway bar should work a treat, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Very cool way of getting the bar mounted.
Stellar work on the sway bar install. Fantastic to have the high-tech tools and the skill to use them properly. Makes for some killer fab work. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
Hey Carl, I love your headrest! I also enjoy your presentation skills.
Real nice job Karl Looks great
Love your videos and both channels! Really appreciate your skills and talent as well as the more how to approach, you're a great teacher! I've used a few of your sheet metal forming and welding how to videos as guides at work and they've helped me improve my skills tremendously! Thank you for all the time you take making these videos and keep up the great work!!!
Thanks a lot Tyler!
thanks..

Can't wait to see the truck done.
Hi Karl . As far as plasma cutting small diameter holes , I have set up a "drilling" tool in my CAM software using a plasma profile. Then I use it to plasma pierce a small hole at each location. It's the ultimate center punch. Then I use progressively larger bits to finish up to size. It's an extra step , but it's been very accurate and easier on my drill bits.
FYI, there are "cup" washers available for heim joints that keeps road debris out of the joint. It also helps keep grease in : )
Truck is coming along nicely! Very heavy duty!
I would have mounted sway bar off chassis for less unsprung weight. Plus it would make it less vulnerable to impact offroad etc
Looking Great! Stability for days!
Another great one from the snowy North... LOL Keep up great work!
Love that truck, dream ride...
EDIT: Remember the YouZooTube algorithm - subscribe, thumbs up and small comment. Huge benefit to this fantastical site !!!
Good video. Would have been great to incorporate these brackets into the shock mounts for a clean thought-out look. But that is the way some fabrication goes.
I couldn't resist to do it over to incorporate both functions into one bracket. Part of being a bit of a perfectionist, ADD, whatever you call it.
Very nice links.
thank you! learned alot by watching your vidios
Man oh man ramp truck is on the move!
hi c been waiting for this! Thanks for the details! Appreciate your constant positivity. Regards Barry
Looking amazing
You’re bound to be on your way to Australia. Great work Karl. That sway bar should do the trick keeping it safe. Thanks for sharing!
❤️💯👍👊
I have some aluminum slugs that I had made for welding in rod end bungs. They act as heat sinks. I cover them in anti seize and take my time welding. Zero issues since I’ve started using them.
Small u-clamp for a large sway bar and heavy front end
Ya I was surprised also. I have stronger aftermarket ones also
Really love the particular sound a well made machine has its like music
Keep it up Karl !
You learn something new everyday, I didn't know that on solid axles you could mount the bushing side to the axle and drop links to frame, I've only ever seen it the other way around on independent suspension! Thanks man!
Well done! No such thing as overbuilt!
That’s going to be one slick ramp truck,👍🇨🇦
Keep up the great work. Totally smashing it and I personally learn so much from your videos and shared insights!
Always something new and cool with you. I must say the air operated rounding off tool or router bit to take off the square corners was a hit in my book. I was just gonna leave you a "comment", but you always show me more than I expect, which is almost pharmaceutical grade addictive. Thanks Karl.
Great to see more progress on this project. Love the “let’s try this” approach. Mate, one thing… get yourself a respirator helmet for your welding. The shit in those fumes will bugger your health in the long term.
Awesome work as always!
Incredible engineering and fabrication! Go Japhands, keep moving forward!
Hope to see more of the "third hand" tips and tricks, every workshop needs one. Great video 3 thumbs up !
I love the truck. Just drinking a beer and enjoying this.
I had a hard day doing collision work but I love the fabrication
Real nice job of creating a flexible height anti roll bar
I saw another RUclipsr, Curtis from cutting edge engineering use a big ol beefy chamfer tool. His was putting a 14" bevel on 3/4" plate. It was an electric beast
Upside down welding flat on your back. Awesome
Karl, that over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder weld while you were under the frame was impressive!!
Pls wear a mask and eye protection more often. Trust me on this one.
Sway bar was nicely done. Can't wait to see the truck on the road!
Hail the algorithm!
As a hobbyist I watch with envy at all the hi tech tools you have . And how easy you make it all look 😊
Nice Work.

I’ve got to put a rear sway bar on my 35 Ford coupe and this video really helps with ideas to put it together. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Love your channel and your Kustom builds!!! Can't wait to see the finished COE.... It looks Awesome already with the work done on it!!! Keep up with the Awesome build and fabrication...
Awesome build
Mr Make it Kustom ,great video ,more importantly that coupe at the start of the video whose is that ,regards Rob
Too big is better than not big enough, the last thing u want is body roll on a truck like that. Keep her firmly planted! 👍
Hi Carl, I like your vertical down welding with the mig. Very solid and neat.
Yes! Ramp truck video! Gotta get an early comment in.
Nice work!
such a cool project
Love the block of wood head rest :-). Awesome content as usual mate
Make It Kustom--Make It Karl!😎
I have never seen the sway bar mounted on the axle and the ends to the frame. Wondering if it works the same. Love videos and your teaching ability
Nice Karl
Super nice job there Karl! Take care
G'day Karl, If you have trouble with lateral movement, on the front axil. Add a panhard bar, at the top of the 3 way link assembly, between the two rear links and the chassis. Great build, keep going. Hooroo se ya later 👍
That's funny now 😆 I thought I was the only one that had a special block to lay my head on when I'm under the vehicle.
Awesome content 👏
Mate love your work 👍👍
Rad as always bro
How much difference a sway bar makes. So I’m thinking that will help with the load on the shock mounts, from my previous comment. As a truck (lorry) driver by trade I really like this truck. I no where there’s a couple of old cabs that previous bosses have but I don’t think they would part with them. There locked in a shed waiting to see daylight again. Take care all the best wishes. Cheers Tim.
Shocks are just dampers, there’s no real pressure on them. And sway bars only have any pressure on them if one wheel is moving contrary to the other. The air bag suspension is holding all the weight, everything else is just to keep things aligned.
Thanks for the information. I’m not an engineer as you can tell.
great work as always mate
Good work
Love it
Great content as usual. I love this channel. So, Karl, what's next?🤘⚒️🏴
Welllll the rear seat at I’m making from scratch and the rear shocks are gunna be gnarly too!
Ramp truck merch? I think it would be awesome on a t-shirt.
Coming right up!
I learn something usefull every time I watch one of your uploads. The reamer makes a lot of sense, I've chewed up plenty of bits reaming undersized holes. Have you ever used Rotabroach cutters instead of drill bits? I finally talked myself into buying a set. I started just using them for holes larger than 1/2", but I loved the results so much I bought a set that goes all the way down to 5/16". Man, I wish I had done that years ago!
I’ll have to check that out! Is that like a annular cutter?
@MakeItKustom yes, they are essentially annular cutters that screw onto a spring pin jacobs chuck arbor, like a hole saw, so they can be used in a drill press, or even a hand drill. I included an Amazon link in a previous comment, but I don't see it now, so I suspect that was a no-no.
Block of wood as a pillow, ive been there 😂
I would dig watching you build a c-cab delivery
Did you finish the baby Buick? I must have missed it.
Great job on the Sway bar work, it looks very professional.
I’m with Elio, that thing was rocking!
You should find a Freightliner dealership and check out the frame designs. You'll see some crazy fasteners 😊😊
red hot and lots of water and you wont brake stuff off . old school restoration tip to save parts that are hard to find
We totally need to make a shirt that says half travel or ride height half travel something to that effect😂
good move fixing a sway bar
Can we get you a scarfing tip for your touch makes getting close to the surface that much easier
Love ur pillow lmao
Mount a torsion bar between the control arms at the frame mounting point. No height travel issues.
I watched the rest & your system does look pretty good.
Better a little bit of overkill than constantly breaking down. The road in Canada can give give you quite a jolt sometimes.
I love your work. Keep it up. I know you do not see it as work if it is something that you love doing. I do have on equestion. Do you consider the scrub line when building your rides? I noticed that the suspention sway bar looks a bit low if you have a blowout it may contact the road surface. I may be wrong because of the camara angle. Please remind the viewers about this important design and fabrication considerations when building your own rides. Thank you.
Nice welds Karl
Would it make sense to make frame mount self adjust to ride height
And...... my semi doesn't have sway bars! Nice job!
oh look, it's Karl the Metal God. hooray!
I forsee you have too HALFASS it to get this truck done Brent help this feller
If you wanted to bend that 1/2" plate, why not cut along the bend line with a perforation on the plasma table? Then bend the plate and weld along the bend. I have seen people do that to make brackets.
_Nissan Patrols_ had a sway-bar disconnect that I think was electromagnetic - when off road it freed the axle for full articulation.
Order some Never Seize.
