  • Our Christmas at Santa Claus Village in Lapland, Finland feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity. The cottage being so close to all the festivities in so convenient and the lights at night are the best, but could this also be a great place to see the Northern Lights?

    We with my family visit every year few times in Lapland, mostly northern parts of lapland Ivalo, Utsjoki, Ylläsjärvi and Kilpisjärvi. You should visit summertime in Lapland too, there is only one issue, the mosquitos but the (mid summer sun) is what you should see in lapland.
    I hope you get more clothes, weather is getting colder there in lapland.

    Since you was so poorly clothed. What did you think of the sauna. You was really lucky when you saw the northern lights. But i do hope your winterclothes arrive soon. you will need more then just a winterjackeet andd gloves and a hat if it gets colder than -15.

    It looks that you had really good time there. I'm a Finn and I had to be 53 until I visited that Santa Claus Village for the first time. I had of course been to Rovaniemi earlier, but not in that exact tourist place. I think I bought gloves from the same shop as you :)
    The northern lighs are brightest around the autumnal and vernal equinoxes. I have seen the brightest in my life around in the middle of September when I was in northern Norway, a little bit north from the northernmost point of Finland.
    What were the dates when this footage was recorded?

    • @JacobandJennyTravel
      @JacobandJennyTravel  Год назад +1

      We had a wonderful time!! Thats awesome you live in Finland, it is one of our favorite places in the entire world! We are so jealous you get to see the northern lights all the time! That is good to know about them being super bright in September! This was filmed around two weeks ago!

    • @oh2mp
      @oh2mp Год назад

      @@JacobandJennyTravel I live here in the southern Finland near Helsinki, and the northern lights are quite rare this south. The norther you go, the stronger they are. When I saw them in north Norway I didn't even know before that they can be so bright!
      I recommend you to take a trip to Lapland north from Rovaniemi in mid-September some year. Then you will also see the stunning autumn colours when all the plants turn to red and yellow! You could eg. rent a car.

    I don't know if you've already begun your integration because in the last video you sighed on a full air plane and in this one, being happy to have the furthest cottage because of less people and forest view, being excited of your own sauna. :)

      Except for over-using the word excited. It's a cultural thing, but usually Finns are excited on two occasions: day of the wedding and the birth of their child. Everything else is just good. And good is what makes us content. ;)
