i went to the Arsenal game in 1988. 4th round of the cup. we lost 1-2. Nelson scored. 27 thousand. The last full house at the Goldstone. North Bank was jam packed. Arsenal bought about 10 thousand if not more. Happy days, Then down Hove dogs in the evening after a chinese. those were the days indeed. 1987/88. my favourite season.
This great incredible atmosphere real proper fans , if we had this at the Amex. We would win every game , God knows what this would be like if it was full , the old north. Just different world old school passion
Thats terrific! Got quite emotional when Storer scored !

My dad and grandfather were at that game. And they took home a piece of the pitch and equally planted it in their gardens.

The terraces made the difference.
Amazing video thank you

The final two seasons at The Goldstone Ground were very turbulent ones for the club. I'm surprised there were no full blown riots there.
There were massive protests/walkouts, that's for sure.
Just over 25 years later; in an now established new ground, finishing 9th in the Premier League on 51 points.
Nice to see BensGrandad at the start. 😂
I was stewarding on the last home game. Such an emotional day.😭
Top of the premier league briefly for 4 hours
