Now this is a weird one because the artist for this fancomic was by aatkaw, who asked me to do a comic dub of this, but the dialogue was originally based on a text post by dogtit so it was like... double the authors for one Overwatch fancomic, ha! Actually in hindsight, this wasn't nearly as weird as I thought it would be when I started relaying this story so just consider it a totally normal Overwatch fancomic dub by me and Tamara. Although it IS the first time we've been asked by the author of the comic itself to do the comic dub! Well, one of the authors, I then had to ask the other author if it was okay to do the comic dub and they said it was and now here we are! Does anyone even read these longassed text descriptions? Man, they're boring.

On a related note, Widowmaker is also the name of an old time rifle that had stupidly long range and great accuracy for the time. It was also referred to as 'orphan maker'.
As such it is considered to be the first 'proper' sniper rifle.

Actually, Widow's wrist tattoo doesn't completely say "Nightmare", the translation may be "Evening spider, nightmare", yes. But it's more of a play on an old French saying, something along the lines of "If you a see a spider in the beginning of your day, expect negativity to come/bad weather. if you see a spider later in the evening, expect tomorrow to be pleasant and positive."
Her tattoo basically alludes to no matter what, if you see ~this~ spider (Widowmaker), then your day will most likely completely end. By a bullet. Still hella edgy, but a tasteful and elegant edge.
Her back tattoo doesn't really refer to much either than her character, but I inferred that like most terrorist groups, they mark you with ink. so if you die, instead of giving out your entire information like DOB, name, last name, etc. they just mark you with something that they will identify your corpse with. it's morbid. but it's real.

Hexcraft Gaming if he had a ghost form it would be impossible to deal damage to him, not to mention holding guns. My guess is that his body is now an amorphous mass that is able to change its density and is kept in humanoid form thanks to the clothing

The reason why they didn't continue with Andrew, from what I could dig up, is because either he was hacked and the hacker said he wasn't interested, or the director didn't like this version of Spoders. Not the character, I mean the actor. Like "Andrew Garfield doesn't scream Peter Parker, he looks more like a Bystander rather than our Webhead."

Okay, here we go.
Eventually, in the canon, there won't be any villains. Amelie is probably losing her brainwashing effects as seen in her visit to her husbands grave at Christmas. Reaper I feel is some sort of double agent, trying to stop Talon because even though he's a killer he's still got that damn hero complex that got him into Overwatch. And Sombra plays both sides, so she'll probably be cool with heroics.
Blizzard is setting up all these characters and calling them heroes, and eventually they'll all ACTUALLY be heroes. Redemption arcs for all.

Widowmaker actually killed her husband to join Talon (the organization Reaper is in) and that is how she got her nickname. Needlessly to say, its not one of her happiest memories.
I _think_ she was tortured and then mentally conditioned to kill her husband (a high ranking member of Overwatch) after she was "rescued".
Widowmaker make was indoctrinated by Talon to murder her husband, leader of Overwatch at the time. They tortured her and experimented on her, even slowing her heartbeat and suppressing her emotions. She became the ultimate assassin, but at a heavy cost. It's really messed up.

Gerard, Widowmaker's now dead husband, wasn't the leader, he was just a high-ranking, elite member of Overwatch.
Anyway, Amélie was one day kidnapped by Talon, a terrorist organization. The group tortured and indoctrinated her to the point of being brainwashed.
A while later, a few Overwatch agents had found her, and brought her back to the organization. She seemed to live her life as normal but after two weeks, she had murdered her husband in cold blood while he was sleeping and returned back to the Talon organization.
This is now one of my favorites overwatch comic. 🤣
