That is the big question. After studying this situation relentlessly for the last decade or two. The answer always comes back to this: they want to take over and what you are seeing are common tyrannical tactic as used by Nazis, Fascists, Communist (essentially all the same in terms of human nature). They are “smarter” than you and I and they “deserve” control. Watch out for the World Economic Forum (Klaus Schwab ) and George Soros, two of the biggest perpetrators. Either they, or China, or both are behind all this. What I’ve learned so far.

According to wikipedia, "Congressional rules empower all its standing committees with the authority to compel witnesses to produce testimony and documents for subjects under its jurisdiction." That means they could actually make him answer the questions and threaten him with arrest there and then if the refusal persists. Not sure why they don't. The DOJ couldn't even move to dismiss since "even when executive branch officials refuse to comply, courts tend to rule that such matters are "political questions" unsuitable for judicial remedy."
