  • Formula racing combines thrill and precision, where tiny details determine success. AIX Racing uses Original Prusa MK4, XL, and SL1S 3D printers to quickly prototype and produce custom parts for their cars, including 3D-printed carbon fiber components. Chief Engineer Arthur Rencker highlights the speed, precision, and independence from suppliers that 3D printing offers. With limited testing opportunities, this rapid prototyping and custom carbon fiber parts give AIX Racing a crucial edge, showcasing the transformative impact of 3D printing in motorsport.

I am so proud of this company going so far after its origins. I built my first Prusa i2 ten years ago and I am incredibly glad of being part of the beginning of an industry changing technology, and I would love to get my hands on an MK4 too!

It is the contraction for the word Mark which goes back to before world war 2 and signifies subsequent modifications of the original version.

Congrats! You have bought a 7 year old printer with a few improvements.
Competition is great! I couldn’t have afforded a Prusa, however I could afford a quicker, cheaper, newer machine.
I did not need to replace any plastic parts on my printer after 1100 hours print time.
I wish Prusa steps their game up, if they don’t I will not even closely consider buying one ever.
Of course it will run fine, may even be really reliable with great costumer service.
However its like comparing a VW Golf with a Porsche Cayman on a race track.
