"this generation" of music encompasses artists like beyonce, ariana grande, jennifer hudson, adele... all great vocalists. just because a singer is from the 1950s or whatever doesnt mean they were good. elvis wasnt a vocalist. tony bennett wasnt a vocalist. the cleftones werent vocalists. youre just remembering the past as talented because the vocalists back then stood out

That’s because not everyone makes pop songs. If you dont like it, dont listen to it. Its music for people with a different taste than you. Not everyone wants to hear edm, pop, or old school beat raps.
People gotta remember just because a few tiktok stars got 5 minutes of fame doesn't mean no one can sing or has talent anymore. They also have to remember that many songs nowadays don't nessesarily showcase vocals like songs back in the day, but this doesn't mean the folks singing them can't pull a powerhouse vocal move, they sinply chose not too because the songs don't require it. One of the prime examples of this is Ariana Grande and Beyonce's more recent albums (of course Beyonce is another generation, but still... She's an example)

@@romanarts6645 I think that is certainly the case. Unlike back then, most of those who are pushed to the spotlight now aren't as talented/gifted in the field. The focus is on more superficial things than it was back then.

I know she’s super popular but people dismiss her. Tori Kelly is great. Camila has improved a lot I think. Her last album was great. Demi has a great and powerful voice. Ariana slaying as always.

Jongho from Ateez just dropped a song recently called “Everything” and he has PIPES like CRAZY! Highly recommend if you want to admire another pop artist with insane vocal talent.
These are all talented people, but the way to prove this is not by showing them at concerts. 99.999% of them use autotunjng through their microphones to assist.
