    Hey guys! Check out our Free RV Basic Must-Haves Checklist Here: bit.ly/3MbbPkX
    It’s reasonably minimalistic, but covers everything you’ll need for a successful part-time getaway in your RV!
    What did you think about the Shocker Hitch? Comment and tell us if it's something you'd try, or does the camera blocking turn you off too?

    I think that hitch might be a good idea. I remember when my Dad pulled a farm wagon full of furniture to Fl. with a pickup truck, Every time we drove over the expansion joints on I 75 we got whiplash. I will never forget that experience. Of course now, its memories of my Dad. enjoy you guys a lot. good luck

      I’m hoping it helps. I think it certainly can’t hurt anything. When we had that trail air pin box on the 5th wheel I thought it made a difference, but that could’ve all been in my head. Definitely miss the air ride of the diesel pusher. Jarrett

    Great video. I'm glad you said something about not seeing the hitch ball with the camera because my F150 has backup assist and it back itself up and puts the ball right under the hitch with the push of a button and uses the back up camera to do it.

      @OurNextAdventurejvh  4 месяца назад

      Yeah it is kind of in the way. I can see it a little bit, but not as well as it was without the Shocker. Takes a couple more tries and Val back there sometimes to make sure it’s good.

    Thanks for sharing. I’ll be interested to hear how it works, but the incompatibility with camera view definitely would outweigh any benefit for me. Maybe you could use another reference on the front of the trailer (paint, component or sticker) to use when backing up. Also, are any of the shocker horizontal bag mounts compatible with weight distribution hitches?

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  5 месяцев назад

      They have several different hitches. I just went with this one because it worked with what I had. I’ll definitely let you know what I think of it after we put some miles on it. Val can help me get hitched up. So the camera deal will be a pain but we’ll make it work. Jarrett

      I think it’s good. We’ve put 1500 miles or so on it. I think it takes the jerk out of the ride. I have noticed that nothing moves in the trailer on long drives which isn’t normal. Im going to do an update video on it shortly. Jarrett

    Numerous times and also the settings on the torsion bars thing you have to remember is once you are hooked up and the torsion bars are set in place you need to blow the airbag up until the rear most washers are slightly compressed if you don't have tension against them you won't be getting a full air ride effect

    Does your trailer have upgraded suspension? Ialso have the chucking problem but was thinking about installing shocks and either moride or lippert suspension upgrades. What do you think hitch/airbag weights? Curious how this works for you.

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  5 месяцев назад

      Ours is stock suspension. The shock isn’t super heavy and the way it’s designed it’s pretty easy to handle. I’m guessing 30ish lbs but I’m not sure. I’ve considered upgrading the suspension on the trailer but I think it would probably help the trailer ride better not sure how much it would help with chucking. It you do it let me know how it goes. I am curious as to what impromptu the air bag makes. My blue ox wdh probably weighs 40 lbs by it self, I've had rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders and I struggle installing the hitch now,lol. As usual awesome video, keep them coming.

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  5 месяцев назад

      @@user-pe4cf8wr5m The hitch has a hollow stem and several aluminum parts. The fastway hitch was pretty heavy as well. I’d say this is a little heavier but the there’s a couple of horizontal rods on it for the linkage that makes it easy to pick up. Hope that helps. Jarrett

    Do those tire sensor things put your wheels out of balance. ?

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  5 месяцев назад

      I’ve never balanced trailer tires but I guess it could. They don’t weigh much so I’m thinking it probably wouldn’t matter. It’s basically similar to what’s inside my truck tires if that makes any sense. Jarrett
