I've stayed away from games for almost 100 days now and my perspective on life has changed so drastically. I can't believe I let video games have such a hold on me to the point where I was thinking of almost nothing else. Today I'm thinking of lots of things and most of all I'm DOING lots of things! I look forward to each day now and feel like I'm finally free. If I can do it so can anyone else - you just have to set your mind to it and believe in yourself.
Day 122 of G-Virus Detox: I initially started an 8-year span of problematic gaming as a coping mechanism due to burn out from my old job. I’m tired of the consuming mindset and just wanting to be entertained all the time. Good tip from video: Directing our focus on gratitude and appreciation helps build momentum toward your goals and helps get us out of a consumer mindset. Reference to what do you love about where you live: I love hearing the birds chirping during the walks around the suburbs around where I live.
Great interview Cam, I’m glad to have discovered your channel(here on RUclips) back in March this yr. I’ve discovered the quitters from Spotify (long time user me) back in 2019 before knowing you had a Yt channel. Thank you for all you’ve done for the past present and hopefully future game quitters out there. Enjoy the rest of your week and soon to be weekend Cam and see you on the next upload
Nice to see you here - I've got more podcasts coming soon, starting to upload them again, both with some of the interviews here on the channel but also with fresh podcast-only content. Thanks for finding us on there - it shows I should put more attention on it!
25:20 very important, helped me out a lot. In a good place now. Definitely don't go for the 0 probability for improvement option, better 'stay in the game' by gaming, ironically.
Hi Cam, could you do a video on gaming and autism? I know you've already done one on gaming and ADHD but I just wanted to give you some input/inspiration for another video. As an autistic person it would be great to have some insight into my autism and how it affects gaming stimulation in combination with neurology.
Greed, algorithms and consumer bias exploitation ruined the gaming industry. I recently played FFVII again and it was amazing. I finished it without any need to play it again, no addiction symptom, nothing. Just gratitude for experiencing such amazing story. It was more like an interactive movie/book. Completely different from the never-ending novelty stream of today's games.
Gaming seems attractive when we see it and when we fell in it also it feels like that but when we get out and seel the real world 🌎 around us , what are we doing? Aren't we wasting our valuable time ? I always think one thing when I feel about to game for a while If I die today what a loss i had made to myself till now I had lived and didn't see valuable things around what was I am really doing about? That thought awakens my mind Self Awareness Be Real and Face the Reality That 's what we need to be
How many people prefer social media over video games? And you waste your time watching youtube video, just go outside lad!!! Build farm, build house, dont create youtube video crying over video game!!! Pathetic
Why does gaming have to be a waste of time though. Just like everything in like, if you take it in moderation it doesn't have to be a waste of time. Gaming is a truly beautiful medium of entertainment that can provide you with some incredible experiences, but that is only if you don't mindlessly consume it. I would love to have a conversation with some of the people in this community about why they think gaming is a waste of time.
@@Endorvien Not everyone is able to consume it in moderation for example me : I was addicted to gaming then I stopped for like a year then I got addicted again (used to play like 3-5 hrs a day on weekends) and now I stopped gaming
@@L3arnability that's fair, it definitely does take a lot of discipline and it might be easier for some to just not play at all so the temptation is there. So you're right. I would say 3-5 hours on open weekends isn't bad though, at least with breaks. I normally play 1ish hour a day, every other day.

Leo, I'm right there with you and am grateful to be free too. Day 122 for me.

I sometimes play old video games. Maybe 4 hours/week.
Snes n64 ps1 era games are fine.
But I won't touch the more modern games.
Thx for sharing

Hey, i am 15 and i play games once a week, and havent played in 2 months. I want to play more though and become a youtuber. Should i do this?
if it stays healthy it's fine
Lots of videos i have watched show healthy benifits to gaming, and i play minecraft btw. Also define healthy.
@@RegulationFilms in moderation you’ll be fine but have self awareness to know when it’s ruining your focus and dopamine
"for" four years or "since 4 years & still counting forever", there is a lot of difference!!!!😅😅 😅😅😅😅😅
