A dude ranch out west writes to Bob and tells him his stories are not good depictions of the real west and invite him out to their ranch to show him what the real west is truly like. The Dude ranch stages fake dramatics and hopes Bob will believe what he sees and write about it. This would be good for the dude ranch and bring them business. While The ranch hands stage fake adventures a real holdup takes place. This sets the stage for action and danger for everyone. TY for posting these old westerns. These are some of my favorites. I did some research into Tom Tyler. He died a young man.... 50. Such a sad ending for for this man. I guess we just do not know how it will all wind up. A bit sad for me now as I watch him as a young healthy man in his prime. He was a prolific actor too.

Perennial film favorite Tom Tyler chided by Dad Morris (John Elliot) who tells his son, "Any real westerner would laugh at stuff like this". After being chided for trivializing the west in his novel, Tyler takes the chance to face reality with Roberta Gale and her mother, Louise Cabo, who run a struggling dude ranch. Some funny scenes with sidekick Frank Crane and some great action with Jack Perrin, Charles King, Tom London, George Chesebro, and Lafe McKee.

The old lady playing the girl`s mother- rarely will you see worse acting. It was her first, & thankfully, final speaking part after 2 small roles in silents. Woeful.
