  • Our Listener asks, “I totally understand and believe that salvation is completely by the work of Christ (His death burial and resurrection) …but I am a little at odds when I have to explain Matthew Chapter 3 to people who say there it is John is telling the Pharisees & Sadducee’s to change their lives in order to be saved. Pastor could you explain to me what John was telling everyone when he was baptizing them in the Jordan and especially what he said to the Pharisees & Sadducee’s when he calls them a brood of vipers?”

    We have changed our carnal mind for the mind of Christ, a change of mind ( heart). A change of behavior without a change of heart is hypocritical.

    Why is it then that God was able to save people before Jesus came to earth? For example Abel hadn't heard of the name Jesus yet God decided to save him. Salvation is a gift of God.

      The saints of old knew about a coming Messiah who would save them. We do believe in progressive revelation, but they understood enough in their day to place their faith in God as the Savior. The gospel reaches all the way back to Genesis 3:15 regarding the fall. The animal deaths and blood always had symbolic reference.
      Regardless of that, we know assuredly that salvation is by grace through faith alone in Christ alone plus nothing else. The scripture makes it plain and clear for us today.

    People need to learn to differentiate between spiritual baptism and water baptism. Always measure salvation verses with the straightforward ones like John 3:16 and Ephesians 2:8-9 etc. So, pleased you are using the KJV!

    • @BibleLine
      @BibleLine  2 года назад +1

      Totally agree! We believe Jesus is absolutely clear in John 3 about the two natures. He is also clear about the difference between water and spiritual baptism. KJV is to be trusted!

    Jesus says to repent or parish.
    And thats enough for me.
    Turn from sin turn to jesus.
    Confess and he is faithful to forgive us to believers.
    Forget modern doctrines.
    Pray fast go to the word and follow jesus over well meaning pastors like this.

    This vid was recommended to me. I do think it’s odd for people to wanna act as though repentance isn’t a thing in the Bible. There is people that wanna tip toe around that. Having said that, there is Godly repentance. And then there is Judas repentance. You don’t want Judas repentance.

    • @BibleLine
      @BibleLine  10 месяцев назад +3

      Hey there!
      We totally agree repentance is important, but the definition matters. Repentance in the NT is almost always meaning a change of mind. Sometimes it is accompanied by sorrow, but at its root, it is a change of mind. Hence “repent and believe” means “change your mind and believe” - obviously changing one’s mind about Jesus, and choosing to believe in Him.

      @@BibleLine Hi. Which is why I often put “Godly repentance, not Judas repentance” whenever the topic of repentance is brought up. Whether to help out other people reading and/or the people posting.

    NO, JESUS DID. JUST BECAUSE THE APOSTATE CHURCH DOESN'T OBEY, DOESN'T MEAN HE DIDN'T. DON'T FORGET FORGIVENESS YOU NEED THAT FOR SALVATION ALSO❤❤MATTHEW 6:14-15. NO REPENTANCE AND FORGIVENESS = NO SALVATION❤
