- As some of you might know, last week I had a big crash during a Super G training run at Copper Mountain, CO. Its been a hard week and I have had a lot of thinking to do and a lot of emotions to deal with. But, I wanted to take the time to explain to you all in my own words how I am feeling and how this crash will effect the rest of my 2018 World Cup Season and the rest of my skiing career. I am down but, luckily NOT out. Like always I'm going to fight hard and get back onto the hill as fast as I can and enjoy every second of this season.

For years I have watched you preform in the sport of skiing and in your new charity.You inspired me through it all and still do. I raced as a child and young adult and loved it. I am almost 60 and still ski and your efforts continue to inspire me.I wish you a speedy recovery and all your hopes and dreams fullfilled.

It is my favourite track but I am not even that excited about it this year since you are not there.

We would love to see you race at Lake Louise next year! My 6 year old daughter and I drove up here from Idaho yesterday to watch the two days of downhill. While we had a great time today and she got to meet so many of her ski heros it just wasn't what we were really hoping for. It was supposed to be the chance for her to see you ski your last ever "Lake Lindsey" race! Good luck with the recovery and the rest of this season. And if you decide to teturn next year, we'll make the drive again and be there cheering for you at the finish line!

Yay for us all here in Canada! It seemed a terrible rip-off that you weren't going to have a farewell ski at Lake Louise. You are as special to Lake Louise as Lake Louise is special to you. As for the all time win record: to have as many wins as you do as primarily A SPEED RACER is an incredible feat and a win record that may never be beaten!
Happy to see you're retiring Lindsey... you've been an amazing example for so many athletes, in and out of skiing... Today is opening day at the resort where I teach. a few of us Women Pro Ski instructors are the same age as you and we grew up along side you in the industry. We are on breaking watching this now and we are always rooting for you and no matter what you do, you’re a superstar! We fall down and we get back up and ski. The dance with the mountain never ends. 💖

I’ve just seen your insta stories and I couldn’t understand why you weren’t there. I thought I misundersunderstood, that you weren’t coming back. I got really sad, I’m glad you’re coming back. I’m sorry about you injury. And about this being your last season, whether you win or not, in my eyes you’re still a VERY accomplished skier. I feel your pain kinda. I just crashed in gs training 2 days ago and broke my tibia in my ski boot and I won’t be able to race all year. But heal fast and get that record.

I know you do not want to hear this Lindsey but you should quit while you are ahead sweety. Your awesome and had one hell of career. I can tell you from lots of crashes at a younger age as i get older i hurt more and more everyday, weird aces and pains just started showing up in the mornings that were never there. I wish i could go back in time and have a few redo's. You are at the cross roads in your life right now. Please take this advise and role with it, enjoy your life to the max your body will thank you for it later on.

On a regular beautiful day in the city of Compton Ca., on my way to the liquor store before a BIBLE study, a 🚗 HIT ME; I WAS ON MY FIXIE 🚲 AND LEFT ME FOR DEAD .. NO BROKEN BONES .. I CAME BACK TO CONSCIENCE FEELING NO PAIN ONLY TRAUMA, and paramedics around me asking questions. Not a lot of people survive to tell the story; statistically on : auto vs pedestrian.
