Happy new year! Keep up the great work! Ive got a question for you, how does David Gilmour get that pick attack you hear a lot on live at Pompeii? I've tried using compressors but it doesn't get me quite there.
In my experience, that pick attack is almost certainly from the silicon fuzz face with the volume rolled back.
You mean during fuzz tones or cleans? The silicon Fuzz Face, paired with the Hiwatt and Fane speakers, has a bit of attack. Some of the tones are clean, guitar and amp, while others might be the Fuzz Face with the guitar volume rolled back. It's a bit hard to tell from the Pompeii 71 show as the soundtrack is pitched and not recorded by the band.
@@gilmourishofficial sorry, it's my fault for not being precise enough. I was talking about Gilmour's more recent tour in 2016. On his lead and clean tones like the intro to shine on. I assume it's a compressor, but I just cant seem to get it right. Thanks again!
