For me as an Austrian the names are very familiar. Only some are from northern German origin like "Piepenbrink". From the inscprict "awaiting resurrection in the end of time" proofs them to be protestants (because Catholics resurrect immediately after their death). Early settlers had of course a hard life, but if I could choose, I would prefer living in their time. Many thanks for your efforts with the videos. Be happy to live in a much more free country, than in Europe!
Thank you for the translation. My own great grandmother's gravestone, c1890 is engraved in German. My great grandfather used granite so the marker still looks as if it is new. Marble doesn't hold up, apparently.
I have many relatives in this cemetery. My 3rd Great Grandparents are supposed to be there. Find a Grave does not show him so I suspect it's one that is worn away. Fred Harste - died 20 Nov 1875. If anyone goes there and see's this date, please let me know.
You do a good video now I’ve watched all you have done..only comment I have to make is the title of your video site…middle aged bald guy? C’mon! Something nicer…please? ? 👍🙋♀️🌻
It’s good to see new neighbors moving in
Awesome cemetery, thank you lady for information.
Sad that all the old stones just melt away with time.
I love it when you pop the names and dates up, saves me having to squint! LOL. Great to see so many stones. Thanks from Australia.
People do not realize how much history they hold

Lot's of research and looking at maps.
good video as usual. Monee has a historic cemetary. Near Crete.

Great video! I am a cemetery historian in Indiana, mostly around Monroe County. I love seeing the old cemeteries.
Thank you for sharing this great video I am always looking for my family names I should say the ones that were able to get out during Hitler days

If I get back there I’ll see if I can find it. Thanks for watching!
I wonder if there was a church there. My family came from West Germany and East Prussia, but they get cremated
