ps. Remember, life's better when you make stuff!
Levi, you are inspiring in the gentlest way.
You aren't telling people how to live. You aren't pushing some ideal version of existence onto anybody. Heck, you don't even really act like you have life figured out. You're just living, and more importantly...THINKING...outside the box.
It winds up being super entertaining to watch and encouraging to those of us who seem incapable staying inside the box as well.
More power to you, man. Love your stuff.
That thing looks like it needs a big bear logo on the side! Also, Crocs. Hell yeah.
I'm also a Crocs enthusiast. He needs to go look at one of the DIY steel toed Crocs videos. :-)
It's great how excited you are about the shipping container. About 20 years ago I started designing homes built using containers combined in various configurations. Back then very few people were thinking of containers as housing components. I had more than a few people laugh at me. Now many of the people who once laughed at me think it's a neat idea. My ideas were pretty rudimentary compared to some of today's designs.
It’s definitely become trendy for sure! The practicality was always there. It’s like adult lego for useable space. Love it
Whatever you do Levi, is alright by me! From mostly cloudy, warming up & still relatively locked down Ireland! ☘️☮️🤘🏽🤠👍🏽☮️☘️
...that looked like a pretty accurate job from your eyecrometer! Looks like a really great maker space... nicely done!
Levi, Stoked to see this. I have been wanting a storage container for a maker space. Love you guys! Thanks for continuing to share your story and inspiration. I am still rocking my LBWYMS sticker.
yesssss! This looks awesome. Congrats!
Love your setup!
Cool! Now I've got the inspo, I've just gotta learn how to make literally anything.
For your cutting and grinding area... Get some clear vinyl strips (like a walk in cooler/freezer has) I did that in a small garage to isolate one area for cutting/welding etc. Really helps keep the mess on one side. You could prob attach them on strong magnets so when not in use they wouldn't be in the way.
Also if you're going to do a lot of metal work buy a plasma cutter, so much better than a cutting wheel or oxy/ac torch
I love that idea
Wall thickness: 1/16”
Levi’s door frame thickness 1/4” WALL 3” SQUARE TUBING 😤😤
Such a sick space!
I love everything about this video
Peter you should have a shipping container too!. If I have a piece of land I would put some containers on it :)
The vlog you did way back at the container warehouse setup in LA had me so jealous #ContainerGang
I agree with Peter 😊
Unreal! I'm about to do some renovations on my garage and this gave me some great ideas 🔥
I can’t recommend Matthew’s Light stand plates enough! So flippen helpful for mounting lights. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/33161-REG/Matthews_429041_Baby_Plate_3.html/?ap=y&gclid=CjwKCAjwm7mEBhBsEiwA_of-TK_1PrXPPc_J2e8eCnrnm35PBssC7Db_Q5VGprJhCVMu2WdL4KZ7gxoCQj0QAvD_BwE&pcur=CAD&smp=y
I'm a very good mechanic, and I have many hammers, crow bars, adjustable wrenches, chisels, and various types of locking pliers.
I can't think of any of them that I haven't needed or used.
They are invaluable for situations where parts are seized, stripped, or broken, and cannot be removed with normal fitted tools.
Yes, I have worked on a motorcycle with a hacksaw.
This is so dope!
Thanks Gene! It’s really nice having some space to build things after being in the van for so long
Like a pro :). Well done Mister.
You got the like for the crocs, I rate that. Ahaha
That was actually a really nice video! :))
Heyo! You did it! And for some reason way sooner than if expected!😂 That's awesome! Congrats!
Thanks!
I saw this coming back when you visited your cousin's workshop! Looking forward to what you build! If your ever in Edmonton give me a shout. Would love to meet up.
Awesome work shop.
If you ain't croccin- you ain't rockin!
Bring on the making!
This is so cool

I need to buy a container and a welder now. Great video!
Yes you do
I have been working out of my 40ft shipping container workshop for months now and they are great, heaps of potential and I will be adding a window in the side soon. Do you find you get any moisture build up?
I’m the winter I get condensation with my propane heater. That should be fixed sort of if insulate!
Man, this is so exciting. Thank you for making this!
So cool to see your take on the shipping container makeover! Turned out really awesome
Nice 👍
Was totally interesting! I love how you're doing it within a certain budget too, makes it more accessible for folks
My channel is about building stuff and you inspired me alot when it comes to filming so seeing you into building again makes my heart pumps.. Thanks levi
Hi! I've been looking for seacontainer for workshop also. So how about heating at winter?
Man great video bruuda, glad you got the container - the beginning of the Levi Video Production / Instructional compound!!!
Doing this one day🤙🏼
I don't know if you stated before but what is the shelving system that you use I love that you have the drawer built into it
Have you thought about buying a airless paint sprayer? You can pick one up for around hundred dollars. For what you paid for in those spray cans you could of almost bought one, plus you can use it to paint your work shop both inside & out. And a added bonus is you will have it for all of the projects you plan on working on 😎
I actually do have one. It’s only recently that I learned I can put metal paints through it
I like where this is going
I’ve considering doing this. Start with a shop on a piece of land.
I see James there ! hahahaha
Awesome video Levi! Super cool workspace in the container, that definitely gives me some ideas for the future!
Who doesn’t live a good workshop build?
This is actually incredible! You're so talented and driven bro✌🏾✊🏾
Dude you’re a perfectionist, love it. That door looks SOLID! Impressive how you moved the container, thanks for walking us through it. Insulating the container, is that a future video / project? I’d always thought it would be cool to build a container home / compound.
That was a beautiful weld! Great video.
Found watching the label on the wire spool going round and round quite enjoyable... great looking maker space Levi !
you've got a super understanding landlord... how much negotiating did it take to get them to agree to store a shipping container in their drive way???
We know them well, and we’re in conversation of this set up for a long time. It’s all baked into the price of rent
@@Levi_Allen nice! also you should leave an anmazon link to the wrenches....think im gonna get a pair
Clearly a spirited man.
Where did you get the red USB light with the heat sink on it from? thanks!
Aputure! They have other options out now as well
Loved the video!!! Especially seeing so much of Ember!!🥰🥰
Great upgrades and ideas. Thanks for posting.
Container it a genius easy to build on I'm all over that.
I love your creativity
I would rarely watch a video on this but you intrigued me and this is all so cool!
R you still live in abbotsford? its so sad I seen this Video too late ,really hope can see you again and maybe made some container together
Great project Levi keep it up!
Ahem...I’ve never said this before...so I’ll say it now since this is the most opportune time...first!
awesome !! love the stoke level. also those welds are looking a lot better man nice work. knipex plyers are the bees knees.
Thanks for the video! I've been looking at different workshop/storage ideas and these shipping containers seem to be much more affordable than other options. Take care!
Is that a high cube container?
Nope
Hey. I hope it's all good. I have a question which is concern at the same time. Is it safe - I have heard a rumor a bunch of times that these shipping containers are covered with some stuff to be shipping safe and that thing is somewhat toxic to be in for a prolonged period with humans. So they have to be treated well before you chill in there.
I asked a container shop company in my area, and they said it was good to go. They hadn’t heard of any issues that aren’t specifically marked on the containers themselves
@@Levi_Allen thanks for clearing that up
In china lot of people made containers for somebars and restaurant , Do you have a Vchet ? You should get one we can talk with that
23 min levi vid... yyyyyyes!
Looks so good! Any plans of some level of insulation for the colder months? Im in Ontario so that is the first thing on my mind haha. Im dreaming of having a 20' container made into a mobile(ish) mini ramp with a spine and a fold up window on the one side some day soon!
Yeah I’d love to insulate. It’s just an expensive process
@@Levi_Allen Nice, I feel you there.
Wow! U did it! ☺️📣✌️🤘🥳
🙌🏽
Put a shower curtain up with magnets when grinding maybe?
That's a great idea
@Levi_Allen Thank you for your content, it's great! 🥳
Have you ever seen anyone convert a shipping container to a trailer? Might be useful to be able to move it yourself.
This is great. You use the heck out of that welder!
To move your container you could use you winch of the sprinter. I would just put my Unimog in front of the container and drag it :)
Im a huge knipex fan too! good choice in tools. Today I ordered a 40 euro 27mm socket specially for my Diesel injectors. Good tools are so important on mission critical parts!
I ones visited someone that had 2 shipping containers next toe each other. The wall were taken out that made such a great workshop!
Just paint the bar neon orange
It would stand out like a sore thumb. Not like the container doesn’t already
I had to subscribe. I saw the level of film level quality of your videos. Excellent work. It inspires me. No-ICE.
This is such a sick build. I plan to do this type of build but I want to make it mobile and towable. Any idea of the final weight of your container?
Check out essential craftsmans channel, he has some advice for moving the containers with high lift jacks and burke bars.
Damn how’d you find a container for 2,500$??
I live near the ocean
Dude! Love this. Let's make something!
Hey can I sell you components from my electric bike? It's a brilliant build, I think you'd love the parts, and I can't re-build it and ride it again because my wife would kill me if I broke my leg again. The guy who built it moved back to Germany and was going to school for nuclear physics and is seriously a genius but it's just a project I can't really do anymore :(
Where are you based? At this point I have all the parts I need to get my current bike up and running
@@Levi_Allen I'm in Chicago, but if you have all your parts it might not be necessary. Still, there's some great stuff. The bike I had could get up to like 60mph and was actually ridiculous lol. The hub motor in the rear is like 5000watts with the current battery voltage and liquid cooled. Looking back, it was far too much bike for me to consider lol. He gave me a really nice charger (actually a server power supply) and other stuff too.
Great video. Getting ready to order a 20’ shipping container.
cooll
Damn you the guy who filmed pure living for life 😂Idk how i ended back here but i love it 😂
When did "workshop" or "shop" become "makerspace"? SMH
I always pictured a shop being able to work on larger projects, the space feels so petite so I called it something else than a shop. But clearly in my title you see I still kind of think of it as a workshop. Just smaller
Yeah your work station does make me a little nauseous...
How about using a shopvac!!!
“Eyecgrometer”? Hahaha!
“My dad used to weld barefoot so he could tan his feet.”- videographer
So cheesy! He wants to pat himself on the back and throw out his selling shirts that he prints on, if the shirts are comparable to this video, they are not worth buying! His container looks junky and cluttered and not at all inspirational to quality workshops!
bless your heart
