Get two more containers and set them in a U. Then roof the whole thing plus a overhang to shelter the saw, pour a floor and run power. 40X40 shop with secure storage and you get your garage back. Or at least plan for that. Prayers for your Dad.
Ladder movement take 20. Nailed it!😁😁. Don’t have a ladder just use the tree. Love it! Can’t wait to see the final product. Hope your dad’s surgery goes well!
I live up North and don't know if things are done differently where you are...but we would put a substantial bead of caulk down before setting the door in the opening. Hopefully you don't need it where you are. In any case I'm impressed with both of you and the amount of work you put in. Keep up the good jobs and videos! Thanks! Hope your Dad is well, too.
Guys it’s a shed it’s not a house. Regardless we put caulk where the door meets the floor because it overhangs and we could do it after setting it in place.
I'm really looking forward to watching you fit out your container. You said the door wasn't pretty. I think it's very pretty! Pretty strait. Pretty level. Pretty square. And that's pretty much all you need. Just a thought on insulation. I used the reflective bubble wrap along with normal insulation. The reflective quality really does work and reduces the radiant heat significantly. If you work it into your insulation scheme I don't think you'll be disappointed. This summer I'm going to build 8ft trellises on the sunny side of my shop and container about 2ft away from the wall. With a climbing vine it will add to the aesthetics and reduce the direct sunlight. My prayers for your Dad.
Interested to see how this turns out. I would like to get me a container more for overflow shop storage than an actual shop. I would still put some type of walls inside provided you plan to hand something up. Maybe just one side.
Looks good. Suggestion. Add a small roof over the door, helps protect it from the weather, even if a shed type of roof. I was going to say, with finishing the exterior, now you don’t have to paint it.
Praying for your Dad! Awesome work again! It’s really fun to watch you Dylan as a perfectionist accepting non perfection in ruff framing!😅. Travel safe young man and we look forward to your return and the next video. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I agree working on a project like this, and not having to keep a 32nd of an inch is a lot of fun, but you keep having to pull yourself back from trying to do so.
The ifixit opener had so much pep.. I was not ready for it.. :) -- I really like the idea of the side door in the new shop, and I like the attitude of good enough.. -- Healing thoughts to Dad. - Cheers
I was wondering how you were going to attach the wood frame to the container and that appeared to be the best way possible and bonus points for reusing material.
Hope your dad is ok. Prayers are given. Thanks for explaining the tree in the middle of the doorway. Now I know why you didn’t remove it prior to install of the door. Keep the videos coming. They are excellent!
Siding does look better than a shipping container. I am curious about the width, and lack thereof. Seems like it would be on the narrow side for a shop, long enough to make up for it maybe?
Hope your dad has a safe and successful surgery. Happy to have fix it feb back. So great that u could reuse the old door and not just throw it away. Sending prayers your way 🙏
Seeing you with the welding machine is interesting. I've got this interview with this local Ironworkers union coming up. I'm sure there's more regulations building skyscrapers and bridges than private projects. Where did you get your training?
Big hint - figure out the roof first! Redo that and get the covering for the new siding too... Make some standoffs of heavy metal to hold the roof to the container and keep the roof level and attached to the container. Check out Life Uncontained for his method...
I may have missed it somewhere, is the container staying in place or will it be moved further down the property later? I know plans aren't never set in place until you do them, even if then 😂.
I just saw another RUclipsr who said they didn’t weld all the way around the windows and doors and that was a mistake because it leaks even with the caulking.
It always amazes me that You Tubers like yourselves have to justify your actions to keyboard warriors (like myself!) when building or creating stuff. Just do what you wanna do!

I love your attitude on this project "It's not pretty or good but it's good enough"
“Trippin’ Breakers” sounds like a good name for a rock band. Thanks for the video. This is the first time you all came up in my feed. 👍
🤣 Could be! And welcome!!
You restore my faith in young people. Great videos and good luck in all your endeavors.
Use the the steel piece you cut out for the door opening as a porch roof over the door😄
It is awesome seeing you guys working together! Thoughts and prayers for your dad and family.
Prayers for your father! Keep building you two are inspirational to the next generation!
Looks good! Look forward to seeing this project play out
Always enjoy watching the projects and progress, keep up the good work

Definitely a good idea. Would be required by building code here.

This will look awesome with board and batten, plus this cool foot door! 😃👍

Great door in the container. Now you have easy in and out. Sending lots of prayers for your dad.
You keep coming up with these series which I enjoy watching. Keep up the great work.
Hope your dad fares well. Safe travels
This door is a wonderful idea as well as practical. Hope everything does well for your father.

I love the ingenuity to problem solve the insulation and the reuse of the door. Inspiring!
I’m all about fixing things instead of buying new. I’ll have to check out ifixit
Love it. Wanted to do a shipping container deck but my township won't allow it Can't wait tp see next video.
*Wow great job on getting the awesome looking door all fitted. All the best for your dad 🙂nz*
As always, enjoy watching the two of you work and grow together. Keep the videos coming!
Praying for you father as well.
Good idea to put a door in and to use up some stuff that's just sitting around.
Looks good. Suggestion. Add a small roof over the door, helps protect it from the weather, even if a shed type of roof. I was going to say, with finishing the exterior, now you don’t have to paint it.
We are building a roof and lean to over the whole thing!
Great job the door looks great.sending prayers to your dad and family 🙏🏻🙏🏻 that his surgery goes smoothly
Prayers for your dad, from Sweden. Love your channel!

keep up the hard work around the house and prayers on your father
I will pray for your Dad. I am so thankful for you guys.
Great idea for the door! It looks good and I'm sure it will last a long time.
The Workshop Container is fantastic. Don’t be so critical of your work. It’s an alternate entrance for safety and peace of mind.
I agree working on a project like this, and not having to keep a 32nd of an inch is a lot of fun, but you keep having to pull yourself back from trying to do so.
Love your content! Starting a container shop build my self and have been looking for man door ideas.
Thoughts and prayers for your dad and his procedure. Stay strong for him and bless you and Molly.

Prayers for your father. Keep up the hard work and great videos.
Prayers for you and your father. Truly enjoy watching your videos. I especially like your honesty.
Love watching this. I want a container for our "homestead" storage but I don't have the skills to customize it to make it work like y'all do.
Thanks Tim for taking us along on your journey
I was wondering how you were going to attach the wood frame to the container and that appeared to be the best way possible and bonus points for reusing material.

great project looking forward to next video
Great way to improvise Molly, using the tree ladder.
Hope your dad is ok. Prayers are given. Thanks for explaining the tree in the middle of the doorway. Now I know why you didn’t remove it prior to install of the door. Keep the videos coming. They are excellent!
Buy some assorted larger ladders and one to get on top of container also. I saw a money tree somewhere on your property.
Looks like an interesting project, hope it all goes well!!! Best wishes for your dad.
Sending prayers up now, keep on sharing guys I'll keep watching

Another good video. Gave me good ideas on a metal storage building that I have. Thanks!
Awesome!

I enjoy watching both of you and your adventures in (now) homesteading.
Awe thank you so much!
I am super excited about this project. This is gonna be fun to follow!
Us too!!
Awesome work....as long as it's functional it's good....hope everything is good with ur dad.
I’m in - thanks
Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Best wishes for your dad!
Every shipping container needs a good door with a side light panel... prayers for your Dad
I wonder if putting a roll up type garage door on one end would be feasible… I assume not because the space it would take on the inside
I'm fixing up my garage for a better workshop, so that's my FixitFeb
I like the door, thanks
Another awsome video! Keep them coming !!!!!
More to come!
You said that the tree is a weed, we don't have weeds like that in the UK. Does it make for good timber? Wishing your dad a speedy recovery.
Seeing you with the welding machine is interesting. I've got this interview with this local Ironworkers union coming up. I'm sure there's more regulations building skyscrapers and bridges than private projects. Where did you get your training?
Are you guys still going to move the container to the back of the property?
Looks good!
I love watching your videos! 😁
Thank you thank you! ❤️❤️

Did you guys paint your brick white or was it like that when you guys bought it?
Wish your dad the best 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Way to recycle looks good

I like to use the adage...
Measure with a micrometer,
Mark it with a crayon,
We're cutting it with an axe anyway.....

Hope all is well with your Dad. 🙏
All went well! Thank you!
@@Woodbrew glad to hear that
Hey first one!!!! love yall's vids. Roll Tide!!
Thanks so much!! And War Eagle🤪
It's plumb and level from where I'm sitting :)
Oddly satisfying to see you two do a "make it work" video and not so exactly precise. Praying that your dads surgery goes well.
This is a good idea! What part of the south are y’all in?
Lower Alabama!
Hope your dads surgery goes well. Do you plan on installing a window or two?
Question why come you just did not put the wood frame right behind the metal and screw the wood to the metal. It works
I just saw another RUclipsr who said they didn’t weld all the way around the windows and doors and that was a mistake because it leaks even with the caulking.
What kind of "weed" looks like a tree, I'm curious?
1/32 of a DEGREE YIKES
You'll want some windows as well.
Thinking about it!
What about the noise on the inside??
Hope I win!
Watch The Container Guy.
Yes!
