Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powered 799201 at Evesham

A former class 319 EMU converted to run on hydrogen fuel cells was filmed on 8 February 2023 pulling away from a signal check at Evesham. It had come from Long Marston as 5Q98 and would run to Evesham West Junction to reverse and go as 5Q99. This unit is numbered 799201 and carries upgraded fuel cells than the earlier 799001.

Thanks very much. It would be good see hydrogen powered units on the railway. The problem seems to be getting everything to work with the older technology in the original units. Class 769s although not hydrogen powered demonstrate this!
