Heard this the very first time on Much Music WAYYYYYYYYYYY back, immediately bought, the rest of the album ain;t too shabby , what today's rock music is missing - This type of attitude and soul and feel.

I’ll never forget seeing this video for the first time back in ‘88. I had just come back home from some lame ass telemarketing job I had at the time, and this was the first thing I saw as I turned on the TV. I just about passed out from laughing so hard. I thought it was brilliant. The jury may still be out on whether or not this was parody, but I just don’t see how any band that takes themselves seriously could even be capable of making a video like this. I’ve always thought this was a glorious piss-take on everything that was popular at the time, and it was much needed as far as I was concerned.
It still makes me laugh all these years later.
People need to take this kind of music more seriously

The lip-sink in parts is soooo bad BUT, before you shoot me down, I'm 54 and LOVE the Mindwarp! After all these years, this song (and the rest) still hit the "right note" and I do not understand how they didn't "make it" to the big time. Perhaps they were just too much of a parody but they, for me, are greatly missed

I remember buying Tattooed Beat Messiah immediately after hearing "Prime Mover" played at a record store I was at in '88. In retrospect, ZODIAC MINDWARP & THE LOVE REACTION ("Skull Spark Joker", "Planet Girl", "Driving on Holy Gasoline" Fuhgeddaboudit!) were sorta STEEL PANTHER before SP, imo. But a total parody of themselves. 'Shame they totally non-existent commercially. 👍
They were the 1st band I ever saw live in concert...They opened for GNR who opened for Maiden....Great times....\m/ \m/ Rock On!!!

Jimmy Caulty was also half of the KLF. It was his police car that wrote and sung Doctorin' The Tardis and also starred in many KLF videos.

I don't think there is another album that I listened up and down as many times as Tattoed Beat Messiah! Haven't listened to Zodiac Mindwarp for a long time now but I still totally dig their epic classics and I still own this CD. MTV's Headbangers Ball had Prime Mover, Backseat Education and Planet Girl on rotation for a long time, their label must have invested a shitload of money in this band yet somehow they never made it in the US.

Yeah. For the longest time I thought Prime Mover meant like a big shot or man with the plan. But in Britain it actually means a big rig semi truck. Hence the guys busting through the wall on a big truck (though that looks like a British army heavy truck or “lorry” as they say. Still the meaning of the song could have a double meaning.

"Prime Mover" is a term used in theological arguments for God, borrowed from Aristotle. Manning is a pretty smart, well-read guy so I've always figured that was what he was referencing. He's basically saying, "I am the god of fuck" in this song, and the video brings that out even more.
