06:00am...the very time I start my work shift mon-fri. I dunno what it is but theres a nice feeling to film trains in the early morning at night. Dark, quiet, undisturbed and above all peacefull.
Early bird catches the stock ! Good and steady for a freezing morning; thanks for being there. I'm going to start using my new camera in 2015.............all the best for 2015....................Mike
It was all hand held Mike, so the camera did well....looking forward to seeing the HD material from you in the near future...Compliments of the Season to you and your family...Bob
good clear video in the dark there Bob must be getting to the end of the run for that train or the start, not to many people up at that time riding but you get a good look inside, stay warm,,,,dave
Again Bob ,a quality clip again, what a shame the "Murco" will be no more. Thanks to you and other videographers there are plenty of recorded archives out there,I know I have covered the workings of this train for many years Thanks Brian
Lovely atmospheric scenes. That really can be the best time of the day on a cold, still morning. Nice sound from the 37. Some nice lights on those buildings next to the station too.
It is a special time of day Andrei, little traffic noise and still air suits the mood perfectly. Just in case I don't hear from you before, may I wish you and your Family a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year...Bob
Brilliant shots Bob so early in the morning.See you turned to get the Test Train going away. Not turning to get the Murcos going away . Had you got frozen to the spot LOL Well done and thanks for capturing them C&A
They added some extra lighting when the footbridge was renovated last year Dean, but this camera of mine, captures in the lowest light conditions...Bob
Excellent video Bob, you make the best low light videos! It's been cold and snowing over here but nice and cozy inside by the fire. I hope that you and your family are doing well and, Merry Christmas from me and mine to you and yours! Rich
Thanks as always Rich, Great to hear from you, and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas, and that 2015 is a good one for you...Best wishes....Bob
Excellent early Morning footage Bob...As clear as you could wish for....Good old X920 ! Reminded me of my early Morning Bristol Airport video on Sat 13th September...Best time of the day...as you know, i'm up very early 24/7 !!!! lol....Burry Port is a good looking Station, and you have captured it superbly.....Best wishes...Steve.
After hearing the 37 heading West in the early hours, I had no intention of getting it on it's return, but I just woke up at 05.45 so off I went, and I'm glad I did...All the best...Bob
There's plenty of darkness around now Alan..so get some done....we remember so much that happened during the hours of darkness, but it's only in recent years, we;ve been able to record it in any sort of quality...Bob
Robert Masterman That's true, Bob. But there's less happening round here, of course, so it'd only be units and maybe a Murco. But I have a couple of old pro-camcorders to test for low-light situations so I will one of these days.
It was so peaceful Mike, you could clearly hear the trains approaching from the distance. As for the car staying warm, the run from the house isn't long enough to defrost it so it was freezing in both directions.....Bob
I was surprised to see me there that time of the morning Darren....couldn't get back to sleep after you passed the house on your way down....Great sounds in both directions...Thanks as always...Bob
Very impressed with these night scenes, Bob. I have only done night scenes with my old Sony camcorder but not with the Panasonic, so I would be very interested to know what were the camera settings that you used as it has come out really sharp with no graininess. Best wishes....Mervyn
Thanks Mervyn, the X920 is superb when recording night scenes, due to having three 1/2 chips, compared with one 1/4 chip on most amateur cameras. I usually manually adjust the white balance in the manual mode, but otherwise leave all the rest to this excellent camera...Regards...Bob
Hope your brain has de frosted Bob !! nice bit of footage , but dont you go getting a cold for Xmas , got to look after yourself when you get to your age LOL.. thats bad news the refinery closing down , hope they all find new work ....all the best Dave
I heard the 37 go West during the early hours Dave, and just suddenly woke up at around 05.45...and with such a quiet morning, off I went. Then I realised how cold it was, having to scrape the ice off the car before I could drive it...Plenty of warm clothes on so cold wasn't too bad Dave.....Best wishes...Bob
It looks like you should have used a tripod. ;-) The image sometimes tilts down left or right. Or automatic horizon was at the function. I turned this function off on my HC X 929. I filmed this scene from a very stable tripod and nevertheless the picture tilts down to the right. ruclips.net/video/iP8ed2HJzy0/видео.htmlm38s . After I turned this function off, I don't have a problem with tilting pictures. Have a nice third advent upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/24/Liesel_16-12-2012_3._Advent.jpg Regards Matthias
Thank you Matthias, I have noted this movement when hand holding the camera, but I have looked at all the Menu options and not found a way to turn off the automatic horizon function...I would appreciate any help you may have in doing this...Regards....Bob

I totally agree Ryan, but when your retired, this time of day is rarely experienced in awake mode....Regards...Bob

Thanks both, I didn't turn round for the tanks as the back end was in darkness, whereas the 37 was still just about visible....Bob
Well done for making the effort to get this Bob, it was a cold night, excellent camera work here....
Thanks Justin, the conditions were just right to do this videoing..albeit very early for me anyway....Bob
Gorgeous video Bob didnt realise Burry Port was so well lit up
They added some extra lighting when the footbridge was renovated last year Dean, but this camera of mine, captures in the lowest light conditions...Bob

The early Bird catches the Worm...lol...
Always something a bit special Bob about shots at night and this is a great selection and well worth your early start.
Once again Austin the X920 comes up trumps.....it never lets you down in any conditions does it.....Best wishes...Bob
Well done Bob. I keep thinking about some nocturnal footage but so far it's been just thinking :)

Lovely crisp shots Bob,have a lay in tomorrow! Regards Chris.
I certainly will Chris, eye's are getting weary as I type this....06.00 seems such a long way away now...Best wishes...Bob
Not many people about then at that time of the morning Bob! I hope the car stayed warm!
It was so peaceful Mike, you could clearly hear the trains approaching from the distance. As for the car staying warm, the run from the house isn't long enough to defrost it so it was freezing in both directions.....Bob
Great video Rob, nice scene at the end with the semaphore signal :) *5
Thanks James, like many things these days, they won't be around for much longer, so it's important to capture them whilst we can.....Bob
I was surprised to see you there this morning.
I was surprised to see me there that time of the morning Darren....couldn't get back to sleep after you passed the house on your way down....Great sounds in both directions...Thanks as always...Bob
