Heck the anime was soft canceled in the west, movie has still not seen a DVDBR release in the USA, even Germany has gotten it.... SJWs were angry when the film blatantly bashed collectivist ideologies which was the message of the TV show as well yet many SJW reviewer thought the anime was about the evils of Capitalism. Which they couldn't of been more wrong. When the film came around the devs had to make it so blatant that even a child would get it, hech the main antagonist served in a unit with a rainbow flag and was named Mary Sue. They knew they couldn't flat out admit they were wrong about the anime after doing reviews about it as it would be admitting they're so stupid that didn't get the premise of the anime. So they banned cosplay of it at the very convention the film premiered hoping fans would get angry and not show, while burying the film. @@FEEonline Big fan. I know this was a off topic but what are views on bias historians and how they sometimes spread misinformation?
This question comes from my experience with a history RUclipsr called “Cynical Historian”. I feel like in some of his videos, he let his political biases influence various topics in his videos and it always makes be and other people irritated. When some people trying to call him out on it, he would just ban and label them “Alt Right Bigots”, despite the fact he indulges in bigotry himself. I’m really curious to hear your viewpoint.

@@shawnellesmith Everyone's political biases will be somewhat evident in any sort of content they produce when political topics are discussed. Even @Foundation for Economic Education has not so subtle hints of his right-leaning politics in videos where he's seemingly trying to be a-political (like this one to some degree).
Asking one biased youtuber what he thinks of another biased youtuber is a silly question. Both parties indulge in the complaints you're raising about bigotry and biased misinformation. Believing one is holier than the other is a fools game.
Don't waste your time getting into the drama of red vs blue, and do your best to avoid tribalism in general. Those conversations can be emotional and provide a sense of righteousness, surely -- but they do very little other than affect ego. If you're truly concerned about misinformation, do your best to do your own due diligence and research deeper than just reading headlines. Recognise trustworthy sources and be familiar with those that you should avoid (youtubers _generally_ fall in the latter category). Self-education is the best defence against misinformation.

It would help with the feeling of isolation and helplessness felt by watching it unfold.

So I know most of your videos tend to deal with economics and popular media in relation to film and often comics as well, but perhaps you should look into the original DEUS EX by Ion Storm. Among other things, one of the main themes of the game was that many conspiracy theories could in fact be true and that large shadow organizations attempted to rule the globe all at once but often came into conflict with each other for said control. The point being is that many things we see as conspiracies now could very well end up actually being true when evidence is revealed about it much later on.
    Just food for thought.

Eh, I know this is just DCEU, but Harley literally kidnapped and helped Joker torture Tim Drake, even agreeing to play mother, in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. I'm just saying because, in my opinion, I don't like whoever thought of trying to continue making Harley evil, especially since no matter how many times people try to convince her that Joker is nothing but a psycho, she still continues to be with him. And as someone who has loved the DCAU, I wished that Harley figured this sooner and redeemed herself in The Animated Series or New Batman Adventures.

Which is why my priority is AMERICA FIRST. There’s no point of focusing on the CCP when this country is not even in a good position and they should not be in a position to call out the CCP. America needs to fix themselves first because clearly the country is divided.

My stance on Afghanistan is that for 20 years, women and girls could actually be human in Afghanistan. They could go to school, work jobs, travel without needing a male relative with them. Men didn't have to worry about being abducted and forced into the Taliban's army. It cost us money and it cost us lives and it was often a mess but is it right for us to abandon 38 million people to the threat of tyranny because the fight is expensive?
As far as I'm concerned, if we want to proclaim ourselves as a beacon of freedom and liberty, then we should be willing to fight for the freedom and liberty of everyone. And unfortunately, we don't. We abandon millions to tyranny and death because we don't want to pay the price of admission. Today, 38 million Afghans now live under the thumb of a tyrannical regime run by religious extremists who have already demonstrated a willingness to engage in extreme brutality. We abandoned them because we were unwilling to pay the price necessary to keep them free from that tyranny.
    Was that just?

The end always justifies the means - it's more that people are foolish in thinking they can change the ultimate end of the means they used to get there. It's a logical statement not a magic axiom with no meaning.
As the saying goes, trash in - trash out; or if you put the bar low expect poor results.
If you use an immoral means to get there, it inevitably leads to an immoral outcome. The process was marred, trust has been lost, and the results tainted - a thing never forgotten. To suggest that end is not justified by its means is to say that a logical statement is not true, such as 2+2=4.
It's when someone has convinced themselves that the answer is different when making the adjustment is where problems arise. They think they are reaching one end but have completely miscalculated the result of their actions, so to say they think 2+2 = Fish in this instance and will stop at nothing to assert this belief regardless of the evidence otherwise. While using the "2+2" argument is a bit overly simplistic in this context, it might remind you of something that has been frequently happening recently and serves as a direct example of this problematic reasoning.
The end is always justified by its means, you just need to make sure you do your math right and understand what kind of end you are reaching for. This video make a great example of the fact that immoral action will lead to an end of always trying to deal with previous immoral actions.
Also, you really need to identify the two kinds of utilitarian perspectives - one of which I am sure you are a fan of. This channel is like the "anti-utilitarian" channel when utilitarianism is an inherent aspect of economic drive in a free market - its confusing how much you seem to push laissez faire capitalism but ignore the hierarchical nature of man as if it doesn't exist. Even real anarchists understand that.
"Act Utilitarian" is inherently bad as it is essentially mob rule, i.e. kill that guy regardless if he did anything wrong because everyone wants him dead.
"Rule Utilitarian" follows the principle of 'Greatest Good, Greatest Number, Least Harm to an Individual' which is the kind of reasoning the U.S. Constitution was built on.

I'm already depressed with The Suicide Squad. It is a good movie and I was ready to accept whatever redemption arcs the movie maker have written for anti-heroes. However, the ambush on the freedom fighters' camp subverted that expectation. In a movie filled with horrible people on both side that the sheer comedic way they slaughtered the only good guys in the movie is mood killer for me. The movie wants me to forgive the bad guys while trying to tickle me with the scene of people being killed as they are waking to a new day.

We don't, the parliament and executive have always had the authority to do what they've done, the only difference is that they're using it in a different way.
The reason why there's little to no discontent is that NZ has a history of just taking whatever the government does with a smile.
There was a bill passed through parliament at some point in the past where it was retroactively determined legal for the NZ army to march into a Maori village to rape and murder the population.
In my time studying law it's been brought up several times by lecturers as an example of why Maori don't trust the police and tend to be involved in crime more often. But I don't remember the act ever being named in class or any questions being raised of whether parliament should have the authority to do that.
It's just kind of accepted that the government wasn't right to do what they did, but they had the authority to do so.
