I agree it’s a handy little unit and very portable but expensive. I bought one and the battery when they first came out. I used it all winter heating my bedroom and my living room in my home. My home is only 980 square feet yet it’s 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It’s very well insulated with 2 by 6 wall studs. Now it’s summer and I’m keeping it in my living room because it cools down at night here. My home Evac unit is set on 75 degrees and it’s been 100 + degrees everyday for the past week. The hvac comes on around 2 or 3 pm. I also have a small portable swamp cooler in my electronics room helping keep it cool.
Mine works great-I'm sitting in front of it right now. Low wattage and as silent as can be are the advantages but the disadvantage is that you have to be close to it to get the full warming effect. Thanks for watching and the comment!!!!!
I'll be in a tiny SUV so I think it will be perfect :) now I just have to figure out the AC part, my eyes are crossing from watching so many vids lol - You think the EcoFlow would work for me? I think I'm going to go with a min of 1500 for my power station (not sure which brand yet) @@Thecoutch
Midea inverter AC’s are awesome we run two. Easily run on solar. $1000 for 2 12000btu inverter AC’s delivered. Once the room is cool they will put along at about 360-400 watts.
Hey John. Thank you for your videos.. I purchased one of these a couple days ago. Has yet to come. I have done a good bit of research. And perhaps I should have done an online search for the manual before making this comment. Anyway, I'm pretty sure one of the videos I saw said that the instructions say to leave a certain amount of space on both the front and back of the unit. It's a little difficult to tell from your video but it looks like the unit is nearly against the wall in the back. I believe this to be the intake vent. So I'm thinking it would definitely affect the performance. But then again I'm not a AC guy. In your other video I saw the problem that you were having with the drainage. I'm sure the through hole is big enough for all the water. The unit would pull out of the air. So I don't think that the size is the problem. But obviously there is something going on. If when you clip it on it stops the draining. I hope this helps in some way.
I have now changed around the venting system(see video) and it has slightly improved the performance. Also far less water draining out while running now. Good luck with yours and thanks for the comment.......PS Mine has got a lot of hours on it now and still working fine.......
No, if it’s properly vented it can do a large area. If you watch Professor Hobo , who has it properly vented and installed correctly, (which this guy doesn’t) it can easily do a 200 square ft room with no trouble. This reviewer does not know how operate it.
So, if you want to cool a small bedroom in 110 degrees - the EcoFlow Wave 2 is a waste of money??? I’m in Phoenix and would like a backup if our electricity goes out.
I'm in Yuma and that's why I bought mine-for a back-up that draws low wattage so my small solar array and battery back-up system will power it for an extended amount of time. As long as you don't expect too much from it then you won't be disappointed. It's just not way more efficient watt-for-watt then any other AC unit in my opinion.
I bought a wave 2 back in August and I'm on my 3rd one waiting for the 4th to get here. They have all been bad out of the box. And trying to deal with their customer service is unbelievable bad
Heating or cooling? Heating yes down to 40 degrees F outside, does not work below 40F (has a safety shut off - bring a separate heater for really cold days) - Cooling yes when the sun is not out or when under shade cover, in direct intense summer sun probably yes but be prepared to put up shades for windows and maybe try to close off some of the area from the space that needs cooling. Also it uses between 250-450 watts when the compressor is on so be sure to have a large enough battery, 12v DV, or shore power.

SO glad I watched this, I didn't even know a heat dish was a thing.

The wave 2 A/C part is only sufficient for a 1 man tent or similar small areas

Wow-sounds like you've had all the bad luck. Mine is still working fine after I fixed the drain issue. Hope your luck takes a turn for the better!
Think it would be sufficient for a Chevy 1500 express van

Cool dog.
Thanks!
Would this work for a camper van, dodge ram promaster?
I've seen videos of other people using them in vans and campers.........
If the unit is used inside it should have intake and exhaust hoses that go outside. Your improper installation is obviously your problem.
I have re-worked the hoses-have new video posted.
