He mentioned remembering making quilts on a quilting frame with his Mom when he was a young boy and they sure came in handy in the winter . Dad used to make these for us when I was little. We loved pickled eggs. He wouldn’t put much pepper in it like your dad but I’m sure they are soooo good!

Bless his heart! I love when your daddy is in your videos. My grandma used to make them for my grandpa. She put them in a gallon jar with carrots, onions, cauliflower and sometimes other fresh veggies. So good!

Geez I always bring my eggs to a boil and then set them off the heat and set a timer for 10 minutes, then drop them in a ice bath and let them crack. Then peel. Back when I was raising laying hens I learned how to cook fresh eggs that don't peel easy in an instant pot . They peel like a dream after being cooked under pressure. Not overcooked, either. 2023 Eggs are becoming hard to find. Thanks for sharing. I have never made pickled eggs, I'll have to try it someday

This is the same recipe I use, also learned from my mother back in the 1960's. There are three differences between this and my recipe. I use fresh jalapeños in mine, sliced up. The second difference is, for a gallon of eggs I add a tablespoon and a half of pickling spice. Finally, I do a 15-minute canning bath before tightening the lids all the way. When cooled off the Ball lid should be vacuum sealed to the jar. These can then be stored in the pantry, no refrigeration necessary. The cider vinegar and pickling spices mellow out and compliment each other. I age mine for about 2 months flipping the jars once a week.

This is the exact recipe I didn't know I needed but now I know I need it I'm going to make 10 dozen and I'm going to give 1/4 of them to one son and a quarter to the other son and then I'm going to have two jars sitting in my refrigerator I didn't know you could do it that easy I'm excited

How long can pickled eggs keep? I made a lot of jars once but mistakenly made this to spicy while trying different spices but it still made a good egg salad sandwich.

Dad looks good!!! The area I grew up in in northern MN put beet juice in the vinegar to give a pretty pink color to the eggs. So many years since I have had one. Cheers!!! May God continue to comfort your hearts, Prayers continue for you all.

Apple cider vinegar is the best with the eggs. My husband loved pickled eggs. He'd barely let them set long enough for the flavor to soak all the way through.
