Thank you for offering free downloadable plans. It is very generous of you and I, for one, greatly appreciate it!
Not free anymore
Man Thanks for this pattern... I made one... posted it for sale... Got such a response That I started taking orders and in 24 hours I had 30 orders... Pulled the Ad so I could catch up! At $50 each I may have posted to cheap. Thanks again.
That’s awesome!
$50!? That's way to low. I will make from Cedar (better for environment) and sell for $350... Or more!
@@RogerD-hx5sdthat's a stretch 😂
@@RogerD-hx5sd Doesn't sound realistic
Didn't know Mark summers was into woodworking lol. Great build
😂😂😂😂
Waiting on him to be slimed.
Yes! I couldn't place him...
Thanks for this! My wife and kids keep getting flowers and seeds from various places. We end up having all these little small pots (like 4 and 8oz pots) everywhere. This will be a MUCH better way to organize these and they will look much nicer.
Planter looks great! Would you consider making a video on how to properly use a hand router? I always have trouble getting it set up correctly.
Plastic drinking straws also work great for cleaning up glue squeeze out in corners. When the end of the straw gets full of glue, just snip if off with scissors.
Do those even exist anymore? Hahaha I kid I kid
Great work. Great planter. Lovable planter. Just to add a fact, the function of this planter is not meant for draining water from the top box. You would need a protective plastic to help catch and avoid spillage. You do not want dirty water dripping on that beautiful base. I like your neat build.
Thank you from France 🇫🇷 I made 4 off them 👍👍👍👍
This is an awesome build and super simple! Love it!
Weird compliment, but thank you for listing the gauge and length of the brad nails used. Seems like a small thing but when I look over what sizes and how many I have it's nice to know at a glance if I need to go run and top-up on a certain length.
Well made video. I like the two tone planer.
Simple, easy and good looking. Thank you so much👍👍👍.
Nice job! Simple, effective You can't be a real RUclips "creator," you're not 100lbs overweight. Stay tight and keep up the nice work (from an old woodworker and broken down jock).
Try using a plastic drinking straw to clean up along the inside edges and corners and wipe the excess with a wet paper towel. Works pretty well.
Thank you so much for the plans. Subscribed.
Very nice. I’ve downloaded the plans to make some of these 😊 love your work
Beautiful I know these will do well at craft shows, thanks for sharing !!
Nice. simpler way than on DIY Creators Channel. But both look good.
Great job and project... keep up the awesome work!!!
Very nice video.
I love the free plans u provided with the videos. So many videos say free plans but when we go to download the ask for money.
Please upload some basic things which every one needs in routine life like tables drawers shelfs no one gives plans for this simple projects.
LOVE FROM INDIA ❤
The plans are $0
Very nice! I can envision a few variations 😊
You asked for locations - joinery tutor based in N. Ireland
Big thanks for cool craft ideas for the students 👌
thats pretty neat like it alot gonna make a couple
thank you for plans. new sub appreciate all you do
Great video....only thing is should use tight bond III for outdoor use.... designed for it
Titebond 2 is water resistant and would work well, but if you want to take it the next step yes 3 would be the best of the best
Always enjoy your builds. What length roofing screws were used here? For a 5/4 board, do they sell 1-1/4 roofing screws? Or are these strictly decorative.
Looks great .
Cool build! Subscribed and thanks for the free plans! I'll definitely have a look at them and try some out for practice! I really need a miter table for my miter saw so that'll probably be the first thing I make out of your plans! I don't have a brad nailer yet, but it's on my list of things to get
Cool bruh. Aka loser
Thank you
Pretty cool! Thanks for posting.
great work boss !
Excelente trabajo 12:29
Nice build!
No screws or pocket holes at all? 😬
So the brads and glue hold up in the long haul?
Great video. Awesome channel.
Be well!
Awesome love it! I built a different style planter last year, I used spar urethane for outdoor furniture. My wife wants another one, I like this design except she wants the planter box portion painted turquoise... Not a problem but I think oil based spar urethane over the paint will dull/change the color, any suggestions for a protective coating over the paint? Also looking forward to seeing your new shop completed, lol I'm not a hater but definitely jealous 😂😂
If you use crystal clear water based poly it shouldn’t impact the color too much. I’m very much ready to get into the new shop but the Minnesota winter really slowed me down since I still have to finish putting in the insulation. I should be moving in this spring and finishing sealing it up this summer
You do a great job
Great idea
Definitely interested in these plans!
The plans are now out!
@@BearMountainBuilds How did you fix the nail breakout at 2:22?
Nice job
Hey love the channel/plans. Wondering what I'm missing on the plan where it says the vertical leg are "22 3/4" but page 5 end view shows the legs are 20" tall?
Are there individual plastic pots used inside of the planter or is just filled with lose soil in the planter?
Loose soil
Awesome , thanks. I enjoyed the video , wondering how hard it would be to change the size ??
It could be scaled up relatively easily but may want to make the legs thicker so they don’t look too skinny
Excellent projects. How do we find the plans?
I have a link to my plans in the video description
Really good looking design, sadly i would have to make it from pine as cedar is sooooooo costly in the uk
Pine would still look great!!
Mesmo lindo
I'm struggling to get the tools to start my own woodworking business. I feel like it always just out of my reach.
Just got to start somewhere and as you make more money you can buy more tools
subscribed liked an rang the bell in apreciation for video and plans tks
About how much would price this at. I know all depends on the market in my area.
At least $40 but it depends on what your time is worth
For the bottom shelf wont the paint on the ends of the support beams cause the glue to not bond the shelf as well to the legs? Wouldn't sanding the paint off of those locations allow for a stronger glue bond and a stronger shelf? Other than that this is a great build i cant wait to get out in the shop and give it a try.
When I painted the supports for the bottom I tried to not get too much paint on the ends, but you’re right that if you want max strength it would be best to either mask the joints off or sand them before gluing. Either way it’s still plenty strong as is
@@BearMountainBuilds Thanks. I'm looking forward to getting into my shop and giving the build a try.
MUSIC GAVE ME A HEADACHE BUT THE BUILD WAS AWESOME
Nice work. Buts that’s not Titebond II sir.
It's an old Titebond 1 bottle filled with Titebond 2 glue. I ended up buying a new small bottle on Titebond 2 to avoid confusion in future videos
@@BearMountainBuilds oh ha ha. Fooled me for sure. Love the build 👍
What is Pressure treated Cedar tone wood? Is that something that can be bought at Home Depot or Lowes or is it just plain old pressure treated planks treated with cedar tone stain? I want to make some of these planters but I'm very confused about the "pressure treated cedar tone" wood.
It’s a board that is generally used for decking that can be bought at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I bought mine from Home Depot. It’s pressure treated so it can’t rot and the cedar tone means it’s artificially colored like cedar
I wonder how much you can sell these for.
Depends on the area

I agree, I'm not a beginner but this project and others like it helps everyone. A beginner has a step by step guide, someone experienced can adjust to their taste accordingly. It's getting harder to find woodworking channels that actually build things that normal people can build without thousands of dollars worth of festool and sawstop products. I applaud this guy and appreciate his work
Where can i get the plans
?
They are linked in the video description
You should be using Titebond 3 which is waterproof.
Based off the Titebond 2 spec it is suitable for outdoor use and water resistant
@@BearMountainBuilds TB2 is water resistant, TB3 is water proof. Well worth the extra few dollars on something like this. Love the design BTW.
Glue on painted surfaces and only brad nails. 12 months time it would have fallen apart.
I guess I didnt get the dimensions????
All the dimensions are in the plans
lol ok.
Glue is not waterproof
This glue is water resistant and Titebond 3 is water proof
@@BearMountainBuilds but u used Titebond original in the video witch is not waterproof
The glue you are using is not suitable for an exterior project. You should be using a waterproof glue like Titebond III
It is water resistant glue and based off the supplier spec okay for exterior use
@@BearMountainBuilds I am looking at my bottle of Titebond Original Wood Glue, which exactly matches the bottle you are holding in frame 1.23. The label specifically says " Not recommended for exterior use or where moisture is likely." Further, in even bigger font, the label says "For exterior projects, use Titebond II or Titebond III."
No one can afford cedar anymore , geez
They’re about $3.50 a plank at Home Depot near me
Didn't watch the whole Video, why, he says he is using Tite Bond II, when he is using the original, which has NO Business being in an outdoor project
It’s an old bottle of Titebond 1 I refill it using a big jug of Titebond 2
I am sorry, is he single bc he's smoking hot!!!!

nice build..
Your very good, think you can best the "Modern Nightstand, By Shades of Blue Interiors"? It's done with only a single plywood sheet, I'd love to see your more talented take on the design. Maybe in 1/4",,,the economy is tight, lol ;)
How do you get 8 pieces from the stacked cedar that are 8 1/8 long when the total length is only 23 7/8? I can only get 6 with the last two being 7” long?
This could easily be adapted to hold a grow light for starting seeds indoors and taken outside for hardening plants to plant outside after frost danger is past. Also would work great for an indoor herb garden for fresh herbs year round. I'm gonna need two or three of these.
Curious why you didn't use half laps on the legs since the bottom shelf is half lap joints.
I didn’t want the black supports to be seen on the ends
should use titebond 3 and not 2. Also, you are using titebond original in the video.
It's an old Titebond 1 bottle filled with Titebond 2 glue. I ended up buying a new small bottle on Titebond 2 to avoid confusion in future videos
This build looks SO easy, and the finished product looks AMAZING!
I will be trying this one as soon as I can carve out some time!
Thanks for the plans!
Oh, I’ll be watching the rest of your videos for sure!!!!
Big fan of your channel since discovering your workbench build. I feel like the laminated fence pickets for the bottom shelf are too noticable at the end grain though. Debating between adding bottom stretchers to cover those up or just using more cedar decking cut to 2x2 dimensions like you did for the legs. Guessing the latter would mean buying another board though.
Really glad to have found your channel on RUclips. I hope to use some of your ideas and plans to make a little extra cash this summer. I'll let you know. Also I'll be going through all your videos and hitting the like button. Although I haven't been able to watch them all yet, I hope it helps. Stay blessed young man.
Just found your channel
Loving it

Thanks for sharing ❤
Liked that planter design
You should charge for the plans, they are really great. So I am going to pay you for them. You also have a typo on your shop page (bought not brought)! ;) great channel.
Thanks Kris I really appreciate it!!
Unless this is designed to be an indoor project, you need to be using Titebond 3 wood glue which is waterproof.
Based off the Titebond 2 spec it is water resistant and suitable for outdoor use
Well done!
This looks easy as long as you have all the tools. That stuff is expensive.
You can build it with other tools that are cheaper but it will take a bit longer
Would the brad nails/glue combo hold up long term? or would it be better to add screws as well?
Screws will always be more durable. I just used Brad nails because it’s simple and fast. I think the Brad nails and glue will last for quite a few years
With cedar being soft and using cedar fencing, which is a thin piece of wood, you would run the risk of splitting the wood with screws. I would get thicker cedar planks (which is more expensive) if I was going to use screws.
Nice job 👏
So, won't the nails rust out? What about dowels.
I stuck with Brad nails because I wanted to keep the build really simple for beginners to woodworking. I decided that dowels might be a bit to advanced for a first project
Nice planter! After downloading the plans & attempting to open them, I see your notations about the "Coming Soon." I'll probably just come up with dimensions. Thanx again so much!!
The plans are out now!
@@BearMountainBuilds Thanx SO much, Zach!
@@BearMountainBuildshave you seen this video? It’s the same planter box
ruclips.net/video/6zxOpk2q8Tg/видео.htmlsi=J-DbOc73YOCGqibC
Does the glue stick to the paint?
Yeah it does. However if you want to make it as strong as possible you would want to mask the areas where it will be glued before painting. However, as is it is plenty strong enough
I love your videos. Literally watched them all over the week. I been wanting to get into wood working for a long time now. When I start building your design for my family and friends will give you all the credit and send them to your channel. Much love.
I really appreciate it!
