    Great work. Great planter. Lovable planter. Just to add a fact, the function of this planter is not meant for draining water from the top box. You would need a protective plastic to help catch and avoid spillage. You do not want dirty water dripping on that beautiful base. I like your neat build.

    Awesome love it! I built a different style planter last year, I used spar urethane for outdoor furniture. My wife wants another one, I like this design except she wants the planter box portion painted turquoise... Not a problem but I think oil based spar urethane over the paint will dull/change the color, any suggestions for a protective coating over the paint? Also looking forward to seeing your new shop completed, lol I'm not a hater but definitely jealous 😂😂

    For the bottom shelf wont the paint on the ends of the support beams cause the glue to not bond the shelf as well to the legs? Wouldn't sanding the paint off of those locations allow for a stronger glue bond and a stronger shelf? Other than that this is a great build i cant wait to get out in the shop and give it a try.

    • @BearMountainBuilds
      @BearMountainBuilds  Год назад +2

      When I painted the supports for the bottom I tried to not get too much paint on the ends, but you’re right that if you want max strength it would be best to either mask the joints off or sand them before gluing. Either way it’s still plenty strong as is

    Big fan of your channel since discovering your workbench build. I feel like the laminated fence pickets for the bottom shelf are too noticable at the end grain though. Debating between adding bottom stretchers to cover those up or just using more cedar decking cut to 2x2 dimensions like you did for the legs. Guessing the latter would mean buying another board though.

    Nice planter! After downloading the plans & attempting to open them, I see your notations about the "Coming Soon." I'll probably just come up with dimensions. Thanx again so much!!

    Does the glue stick to the paint?

    • @BearMountainBuilds

      Yeah it does. However if you want to make it as strong as possible you would want to mask the areas where it will be glued before painting. However, as is it is plenty strong enough

    I love your videos. Literally watched them all over the week. I been wanting to get into wood working for a long time now. When I start building your design for my family and friends will give you all the credit and send them to your channel. Much love.
