- This one got me going before I really even heard the song. I love Nightwish, they will always have a special place in my heart. This is the first new single from them for a while and it is from their new album, Yesterwynde, due September 20th!!

Great reaction! Tuomas is from another universe! We know Nightwish, their mastery in anything they do; we love Nightwish like no other! So we should NOT BE SURPRISED, but I for one was absolutely floored, mind blown into millions of pieces 🤯, again! After consuming daily fast food “music”, Nightwish takes us to the fancy restaurant serving an unmatched 12-course experience - cannot wait for September 💙 There has never been, there will never be, another Tuomas Holopainen; Nightwish; Floor 🔥❤️🔥
I listened to this song and instantly loved it. It is so well written, crafted and orchestrated and gives you food for thought (leave it to Tuomas to deliver). Then I watched the video and was even more blown away. I can't wait to listen to the full album. They are not going to tour with this album, unfortunately, but they will release 2 more music videos and a 'making of' video for this album. So more to look forward to.
this was so beautiful.. and thought provoking. "We are because of a million loves" how beautiful is that thought. I always take great comfort in knowing that the God who formed me, loves me just the way He made me.... I have a purpose...and to think of the love of my ancestors .. the 4,000 or so, who came before me.. and one day when I go to my heavenly home... I am gonna sit down and talk to each one .. what stories I will hear.. and pray that all my loved ones will meet me there and do the same. Wow.. this song really hit me so deeply

Nightwish always makes you think, and I love it. Their music keeps my mind healthy and sharp. There is too much BS in this world right now, and I am glad that Tuomas does, what he does.
After all, he IS Nightwish.

Thanks for your great reaction! I listen Nightwish since nearly 3 decades, my favorite track from Nightwish is "The greatest show on earth". With "Perfume of the timeless" i have now the same feelings - an absolute masterpiece - music and video! Never before i saw a musicvideo like this! I was part of the story! I think its the same team who did the video of "The greatest show on earth" - but its even better - its next level!!! The break befor the meteor hits earth was brilliant! The sun rises and then the hit... Cant wait for the new album on 20th September now!
nature is alive and well in metal emppu and kai no one does a symphony and finnish heavy metal like they do but they are a force unto themselves quite gifted musicians

Very good points about history.
I addition to history being written by the winners, there's also an inherent difficulty in capturing the absolute truth about complex events.
By friend who is a history buff used Black Hack Down, the book, as an example. The book tries to give voice to all parties who were there, and their stories are often mutually exclusive even on matters where there's absolutely no reason for them to lie about it. And the whole ordeal took place just couple of years before the book was written, so pretty much everyone who survived the conflict was still there to be interviewed.
There's no such thing as absolute truth when it comes to history.

Already preordered the new album and stuff.... this is an absolute Masterpiece! I am now 64 and absorbe more than 2 hours nightwish and related stuff each day. Especially Floor, who - to me - is actually the best female singer on this planet. So befor I die I decided two things for me on top of my restlife bucketlist: 1. Floor live (happens just this next saturday in Eindhoven/NL .... and I shiver!) and Nightwish live, which might be a bit more complicated as nobody knows if and when they will tour again. But I will sell my soul to get there if it happens.

This is what unconstrained genius looks and sounds like. Tuomas is a visionary and he does exactly what he pleases and goes wherever his muse takes him. It's on us to keep up and follow along. That he leaves many behind is no surprise. This... this composition is fucking epic. And it's as deep as the Marianas Trench. This world, this existence is awesome if you take the time to grasp for understanding. The glittering beauty of mathematics, music as the voice of God, the natural world with its "endless forms most beautiful". It's all there for the beholding. But you have to reach out grasp it, you must have a savage thirst for comprehension as the price of admission.

The title of album Yesterwynde is actually a non exiting word that Troy came up with.
Yesterwynde is the opening track on new album, i belive its only like a intro, its a little over 2 min long, #2 on album then is a almost 10 min song, thats proberly another epic!! #3 is where i think they bring in a heavy track, and this Perfume of the timeless is #5.. so i think its gonna be a good mix of heavy songs, Epics, and maybe a full balled..
Perfume of the timeless, well its almonst a ghost energy song right, telling all these ancestors is perfume around in a timeless world, being around you still, also a message that your existens matters!! i feel tuomas also put in a little message that mankind could do better still, Einstein turn to ape..
I listened to this song maybe 50 times by now, and it is one i like to listen to with my headphones or without, its really a good song, when i can do so to me.
Some say Floors voixe is low in the mix, and i can agree its hard to get all words she sing, but if you look at it sounswise it sounds amazing!! and after a listen or 2, you know most of lyrics, and its no problem at all, its done fully on purpose for the sound experince of it..
cant wait for rest of album!!

The title of the album is a word made by band member Troy Donockley, which Holopainen describes as the feeling of time, history, memory, and being connected to past generation, who have "all had their lives, their ups and downs, and they don't exist anymore, except as atoms scattered all over the universe. And we're going to be in that state pretty soon as well. So that should give you something to think about."
Holopainen has described the album as being about humanism, history, and the inspiration thereof, and that outlook of the album is positive and optimistic ]

Love your reaction. Funny, I had the same thoughts as you did after the first few minutes. Made me think about my ancestors and how I’m probably the first woman amongst them that has the total freedom to do whatever she wants. Even my mother had to quit her job when she got married.

Great to see you again Ryan Having been with you from when you first started, I'm so happy you reacted to this - what a great job you did too - as always. I've also jumped down the Japanese rabbit/fox holes although I already knew of Babymetal before I even used RUclips (seen them 4 times too) and, I'm going to see Lovebites , early July here in London - which of course I'm very excited about. Not sure why you disappeared from my radar? Algorithms maybe, who knows. I remember having an exchange with you during your injury and couldn't play - you were obviously at a very low ebb at that point -(not sure if it was your "high hopes' Nightwish tribute or not - but I was very happy I could help you out in any small way. @@RyanMear Nothing to do with Tank. Although i saw his complain in his reaction, the first time I heard the Song when it came out, it was one of the worst NW experiences I ever had.
@OLDM4N-DE I don't know man, I looked back through the comments on my video and didn't really see anyone complaining. It didn't bother me. I knew it was different, but not the trainwreck people are now claiming it to be. I just enjoyed the song.
@@RyanMear Ryan, everyone has a different deception how a Mix sounds good to him or her. I was always very picky when it comes to mix. For me, if it's just a little bit out of the ballpark I like to hear, how I think it's Mixed, that Song / Album has a very bad start for me. As an example. I do love Lovebites now a few years. but their older Studio albums are absolutely not my thing, and I avoid to Listen to them. Their Live albums, like Five of a kind or Heavy Metal never dies, now that was for me a great sound mix. Only with their last Studio album, at least for me. their Sound Mix improved and I love top listen to it. But the older stuff, i prefer the live albums. I still remember how my gf and I on summer vacation were in the Netherlands, when their album "Wish Master" had come out. That back then in time was great, and some of their later albums too. But right now it's hardly Metal anymore, but just has the typical NW riffs in it, the same they pretty much use since their song "amaranthe" and that Album. Before it was more Metal, since it got more and more their new sound. Sure, Floor came along and made NW good again. But with Tuomas being more and more the keyboard and composition guru he thinks he is, the Metal went slowly off the stage. So i once had a really good time with NW music, but I feel the Band has Reached a point in time, when too much sounds the same and they more live off the name alone to make money. But hey that's just my point of view. 👍
