Which one is better Photopea or Gimp?
Philip, what if the magic wand in Photopea selected something that I don't want to be removed? How can I remove that? You showed that by holding SHIFT you can add something when it was not selected but I have no idea how to do it the other way round :) Can you help?

GIMP also does a pretty good job of removing the background, and there are about five ways to do so within GIMP itself.

Good stuff. This is always a relevant topic and I'm so glad you posted this too. Cool seeing that free tools can be used for this. I'm very curious about the best practice via Photoshop or Affinity Designer but need a refresher and am glad you created created the past video about this in Photoshop. Great videos as always.

Philip: With your Photopea approach I am now able to use almost all Ideogram generated images, thank you so much!!! So only thing that I am having trouble is to resize image with the Shortcut "Control + T". When I do that, then Photopea switches into the "Add Text" mode. Any idea what I have to do on a Macbook for that?
the move tool ( Shortcut: V ) might help?
@@PhilipAnders Yes I am clicking that and them I am able to move the image but I don't see the resize arrows at the corners, there is just nothing, very weird. But ok, nothing to bother you with, will figure it out somehow

Doesn't Paint 3D shrink the image by default after cutting out the background? I noticed this in myself. Yes, we can change the resolution before saving, but changing from a smaller to a larger one worsens the quality of the photo..

I used paint3d quit e cool. But photopea is great but I of to go in Photoshop too blur out the white around the art

Hey Phillip Luv ya but how come creators show the EASIEST background SINGLE COLOR REMOVAL? Midjourney put TONS of mixed colors in the background, (even when we say "white" or black" background.) It takes me FOREVER, to remove it, and I DO have photoshop. Please make videos about removing, the REAL MJ backgrounds not just the SOLID bg, thanks.....
I'd recommend checking out my last video where I show a quick way to remove even complex backgrounds ;) And in terms of the issue with having mixed colours in the background, I am sure with some changes to your prompt you can force Midjourney to make life easier. "clear outline, countour, isolated on a white background" for example
@@PhilipAnders thanks for the prompt suggestion. I made an astronaut and MJ put in all this nebula planetary BG crap, I said "solid black BG" it took FOREVER to remove it!!! luv ya!
@@aandjmom1 I would also try something a long the lines of "enclosed in a circle", "circle design" or "die cut sticker" to avoid unwanted stuff in the background😉

@@stanleyjaxen5043 that´s true, but sometimes it´s ok to invest in things like Photoshop. Gimp is also one good alternative if you know how to use it.
