I have such a man crush on Radec. He was just so cool, and in many ways I've applied what he yelled during combat like "break them up, don't let them support each other!" And "don't let them use cover, smoke them out!" During airsoft. Not to mention he was the one who taught me long ago that one can be refined and polite without being a sissy, as I'd always known badasses to be abrupt and loud as a kid. Hats off to you, Colonel.
I never thought about this before, radec was almost quiet yet being the most proficient person in the game, an excellent role model like you said. Wish i noticed this when i was younger.

When he starts teleporting, grab the flamethrower and set his ass on fire. I mean, unload the whole thing on him, then grab the shotgun to get close to finish him off. He will be too busy trying to put himself out to fight you.
Anyone remember how easy General Lente and General Adams fights were in Killzone? THIS was unexpected. Though i figured during the game that Radec would be a difficult boss fight.

God damnit I remember when I finally beat the fucker it was 3 a.m. Had been try harding it on Elite setting for the last six hours. Still left me a taste of ash in my mouth. Had I had the choice I really would have let him win. Few FPS on max difficulty settings had me that much on my knees in a fight. I can't even think of another encounter in an FPS that got me begging for mercy like this one. It was Dark Souls levels of sadism.
@Packie McReary I beat all CoDs on max difficulty without breaking much of a sweat. I did die, but nowhere near enough for any section to be that memorable.

I remember facing him, took me days she's the game on the hardest mode. I kept running out of ammo, so I kept focussing on radic. Couldnt kill him either. The something amazing happened. He got caught on fire and he couldn't put himself out. Was able kill off all his guards. And he's still burning. Ran out of ammo. Still burning, sat there for five minutes, still burning. Fuck made a sandwich and smoke a cigarette. Still burning. Eventually he died... like an hour later

Personally, I found Radec boss fight to be easier than fighting all those soldiers you fight just before him. Mainly due to the number of them, and those damn RPG's.
0:56-1:21 I remember when I was 14, during school holidays, I'd play the campaign for the first time. Just when I got up to Colonel Radec mission and later on Confronting Visari, I remember feeling like I was really in the Killzone universe and that I had come so far watching my colonel sacrifice himself and going through intense battles and all that. But at the same time I just didnt want the story to end like there was so much more about Helghan that I wanted to discover. It was definitely Radecs theme that scarred into me that feeling that you know youve gone through so much and sense the end is near but you dont want it to end because you want to know more and experience more. I wish I could explain it better but RIP Killzone 1 and 2 its defi itely one of my favourite scifi games of all time.

Burned into my head from the 4 hours it took to beat him on Elite lol. The boss fight is fantastic but I think Guerilla got carried away a little with the difficulty.
I died 100 times against radec's personal guard's I was so proud to beat Killzone 2 on elite difficulty then I went on to beat Killzone 3 on elite difficulty !!
I hope Killzone: Shadow Fall has a score like this and hopefully a brilliant and epic charismatic Helghast badass villain. But about this score, it sounds really villainous but also classy and emotional... that's the sound of Helghan!

Only thing that ticked me off is when he killed himself, for someone of his calibre he should have died in battle like he told the colonel. I think the creators were scared they might make him into a martyr and steal Visari's moment. So they made him a coward.

But look at the effect it had on the helghast. It galvanised them. And I hate to make this comparison but Hitler killed himself because he was a cowered, and it's sad that Radec did something similar even though his intentions may have been slightly different.
