You have very nice omega collection, after retirement from Govt. Service I recently start collecting random swiss watches, but some how I believe that you started your channel especially for me, I feel great to see your vedios. 😍👌
Love your videos! You and your knowledge of omega are so valuable to the watch community! Oh, I also got that vintage 168024 looked at by omega and everything checked out. It turned out it only needed to be regulated and will not have to be serviced for years. I really appreciate all the help !
Thank you very much bud. If you wear it quite often it is still best to service the watch if it has not been serviced for a long time. What I learned as a watch maker is to not regulate a watch that has not been serviced for years. :-) But if Omega is telling you that it won't need a service then maybe you can just trust their words. :-) Have a wonderful weekend
Omega Enthusiast Indeed, I will probably get it serviced a a couple years. Amplitude was good and it keeps anywhere from +5 to -18 seconds a day depending on position. Compared to the +178 seconds it kept when arrived.
There are many Geneve models. There is currently only one that i've made. However, certain Seamaster model during the mid 60s will become Geneve in the late 60s. An example would be case model 136.011 which is a date Seamaster 600 during the mid 60s but became a Geneve date after 1967. You can always find my online database here as I continue to add more case model to the site when I get to create more videos: www.omegaenthusiastltd.com/online-omega-database
What year will my watch be? My father gave me his watch 30 years ago, ( I have NEVER opened it ), it is an Omega constellation pie- pan ( gold and steel ) made in Switzerland. It has a calendar of only the number, back has screw cap, in the center of the back cover has the laboratory constellation in gold. It works very well and keeps time ACCURATE. In the front part ( the face ) just says only Omega- automatic and chronometer does not say certificate ? Thanks for your answer ! Blessing !
Hey bud, sounds like you have a very nice watch. Unfortunately, I am no watch fortune teller. haha I would need to know the movement serial number in order to help you date your watch. Kind regards
Thanks for this video. I always thought my Constellation was 1954, however I know realise it is 1955. I have a question. What do the additional numbers/ letters mean after the reference number. Mine is 2852 - 4 SC.
The dash number is the release batch of that reference. During each release, there may be some changes to the movement (eg. diff movement calibers), slight changes to the case design, hands set may change (ex. Alpha becomes index), a new dial variation, etc…
How come I seldom see plain dialed 2852s and if I do see one it's more expensive than the pie pans? Some I read say the plain ones are called "de luxe". Is this true?
There are a lot of plain 2852. Too many to be exact, much more than pie pan. And no, a plain dial does not make it a deluxe, the case model for a deluxe is different.
Hi there, I am about to get the same 2852 model myself, not in such great condition though. I want to replace the crystal, and was wondering: Is the yellow tension ring the correct one for the stainless steel model? It looks very nice, and perhaps better than the white tension ring (I have the same pie pan dial with gold arrowheads), although I am not sure if it is the correct one for the watch. What is your opinion?
To me, when the hour indexes are gold and the case is stainless steel. Both gold or silver tension rings will look fine and correct. Fitting the right size crystal and ring is most important.
Price varies. Please wait for my upcoming site update. I'll have 5 for sales. Once sold, the prices will be deleted for buyer's privacy. So please wait for the site update on my Instagram page.
For this model and the few other 50's non-date Constellation dial, the Chronometre is spelled with "re" end instead of "er". If you see "er" then it is a redial.
this is definitely not vintage.. anyway to say all constellations need to be named chronometre.. is inaccurate. the spelling was adjusted later in the years of production for constellations to ER
Are you saying if a woman is pretty, she must have had plastic surgery? I think you'll need to do some research and educate yourself a lot more about vintage watches prior to commenting. :-)
@@TimelessHistoryChannel btw mr enthusiast, another noticeable and obvious point if you require lmao - the constellation n x 2 are both suppose to be same.
You do know that this is a 1950's Omega non-date 2852 case model right? The word Chronometer is spelled with "RE" instead of "ER". It's hard for me to explain if you already have a naive mindset. :) It's all good, hope you'll learn one day. @@christianthng7897
Whatever makes you happy bud. I am much too busy to spend time communicating to someone who won't listen. I know it's hard for you to believe something from the 50s to still look this great. Maybe you can rofl at yourself. @@christianthng7897
You are a natural teacher😁 Thank you
You sir are the King of Vintage Omegas.

Thanks, Sao. Watching this video deepens even more my appreciation for the stunning ‘66 Connie pie pan I got from you. You’re the best!!
You're welcome, and now you own yourself a very fine example as well! :-D
Lovely watch and another great video. Thanks.
Many thanks!

Beautiful constellation. Do you know if the arrow heads are solid gold or gold plated?
I am not 100% sure, but I do know that they do exist in solid gold. I do not think that they are gold plated, but maybe gold filled is a possibility.

OMEGA🇨🇭🌍🇮🇶💪🙂👍روووووووووووعة
I have a ‘58 gold cap model with drilled lugs and a 505 movement. The face states chronometer not chronometre, does that mean it’s not an original dial?
In most cases yes. But you can always watch a video I made on this specific question in my Constellation playlist.
Why some watches have removable bezels? What was the original intended use of that?
What strap is that / where did you purchase? I bought a 2852 model and love that strap!
Something I used to sell. Just not at this moment. No brand name. Genuine alligator
Super watch

🇨🇭🌍🇮🇶💪🙂👍
really love your videos and instagram feed!
by the way, if it says "chronometer" instead of "chronometre", is it a repaint dial, or what?
If it is for this model, yes, chronometer instead of chronometre will definitely mean a redial.
ÓTIMO RELÓGIO.
Would I be able to get a fairly nice looking one of these for a little under 1000?
I think this number will never exist anymore unless you lied to someone who know nothing about his watch.
@@TimelessHistoryChannel lol alright
So how much can i expect to pay for a watch like.that?
it will depends on the dealer as there is a rarely an example this great for sale out there.
What do you mean chronometre not chronometer? Mine is the latter, are you suggesting it’s fake? Or is it this particular constellation model?
For this model and the few other 50's non-date Constellation dial, the Chronometre is spelled with "re" end instead of "er". If you see "er" then it is a redial.
I see. I believe mine is 60s.
okok, if the case does not look like the one in this video, then it is most likely one from the 60s.
Ok, cheers for the info!
Cheers! :-)
Where would a Canadian be able to buy a watch like that.....here in the GTA.,..,ONLY JUNK FOR SALE!
