I never have heavy periods. They are never late and never last long. When my period showed up late and heavy just 3 days after getting a positive test, I went to the ER where a female nurse actually said to me “I have no idea how you got a positive test. There is no way you were ever pregnant.” Totally insensitive and I fought back tears for a few days. This happened to me, I went to the E/R and the nurse and doctor was lost and the nurse especially was so insensitive. I didn't let them get to me but, they were trying to assume I wasn't pregnant and I was crazy.
Thank you for this, I just experienced my third chemical pregnancy, being diagnosed with PCOS sucks and hubby and I are focusing on the positive and that's knowing we can conceive. I went through the same last month and I have pcod too. But the positive thing is, we will be able to get pregnant soon that we are ovulating.. be positive. Let's hope for the best.
When I was trying to conceive my son, I kept getting positive tests that would just get lighter and lighter every day until it was gone and I would get my period. It happened about four times and it was heartbreaking. When I got my postitive result with my son, I wasn’t even excited because I figured it would be gone soon too. Thankfully he’s a happy and healthy three year old now! Chemical pregnancies are so difficult but for all you moms trying to conceive, it can happen that you’ll have a healthy pregnancy after chemical pregnancies.

Just had one today and the pain was unbearable. It was worse than a menstrual cramp and the bleeding was crazy. I went to the ER and that's what they told me. I was devastated. But there is still hope! I just have to remember that it is not my fault and to try try again!
My best friend just told me about a “miscarriage” that she just had, she was so depressed because she thought it was caused because she got the covid vaccine before knowing she was pregnant, but the exams doesnt show any sign of baby, only the hormone (and the positive test), And what you just explained helped her to feel less guilty, now we are almost sure this was what happened, a chemical pregnancy, she is still waiting for more exams but you helped me to be able to calm her a little. Reading all you ladies comments, really brought me back to my memory lane. i guess i had a chemical pregnancy. my period came the very next day after i had a positive pregnancy test. it was so devastating disapointing and i had so many why questions. what did i do wrong. i was really emotional as it was my very first positive test after 4 yrs of trying. but hey took me quite sometime to get over it. till now i wished it stayed. ttc can be really a very emotional journey. But i believe and hope that one day i will be a mother too and i pray for for all the ladies who are trying to conceive that u ladies will be will be mothers soon.

Happened to me the first month I stopped taking my birth control pill took a test 10 days before my period came up positive was excited then a few days later was bleeding broke fine crying and when I went to the er they told me it was this tried telling me that nothing developed really but I was still upset following month I got pregnant and I’m 10 days away from my csection
I knew I was pregnant and had every symptom when I miss my period and eventually took a test came out big fat positive got to there doctor just to find out I had a chemical pregnancy I’m happy I knew I was pregnant before the test just broken because I wish I could’ve met the baby 💔😩
Idk how many I’ve had but I’ve gotten so many positive tests and then gotten my period and I’m so nervous that something is wrong with me. It’s definitely been more than 2. Im gonna try to set up an appointment with a gynecologist soon to make sure everything is ok

Do you have to have a positive pregnancy test in order to have a chemical pregnancy? Edit: for context I've been actively trying to get pregnant with baby number 2 for the last 9 months (it took 6 months for my 1st). it's been really hard to track my periods because I've always had an irregular ovulation cycle. I was doing exactly what you mentioned, taking a pregnancy test almost every day, and getting extremely upset and depressed when it would be negative or when I would get my period. My husband suggested I relax and take a break from "trying so aggressively" meaning not tracking my cycle or constantly taking pregnancy test. So I did and about a month ago I started noticing a change. Pregnancy symptoms like the ones I had with my 1st that where very different than anything I felt this last year...But since I wasn't tracking the days that we were trying I wasn't sure if it was too soon to do a pregnancy test and I tried my best to hold off as long as possible. When I finally did it's because my symptoms where just too much to ignore (heartburn, constipation, constantly having to pee and nausea) but.... It was negative. I was so confused and to make matters worse the next day I had the worse period. It lasted 7-8 days and was heavy and dark with incredibly painful cramps. I was horribly depressed... It's been a few days and it finally passed and now I am wondering if I possibly had a CP.

Can you explain more in details why the egg and the sperm was not a matched? Does This means my husband and I are not compatible and we will never be able to conceive a healthy baby? 🤔
Vanessa, thanks for reaching out and good question. It sounds like you might have had a chemical pregnancy and if that's the case, my heart goes out to you. If so, this doesn't mean you and your husband are not compatible. It just means that sometimes there's something off at the cellular level of this particular sperm and egg combo. However it is always good to check in with your doctor too. They can do a sperm analysis and evaluate your hormones, fertility too. Sometimes these answers can help us better understand causes for repeat chemical pregnancies. But if it was just one chemical pregnancy, it's likely that something that had nothing to do with you two as a pair caused it. Hope you're doing alright and please let us know if we can help answer any other questions!
My first pregnancy test came out positive with the test line a little faint. After 4 days I did the test again to make sure but the result is negative as well as my 3rd and 4th test. I don't really know what happened, I didn't get my period this past 2 months. Am I sick or did I had miscarriage? I had some pregnancy symptoms like nausea and everything.

I just had a BFP 2 weeks ago and then after a week i was bleeding, but different bleeding for me wasnt like on my period. From what I ve read says that i can wait up till 7 days to make another pregnancy test after bleeding. The bleeding was only for 2 days, the doctor said to me that it was an early miscarriage but i Kind of dont feel that. Is it possible for hcg level to GO up again if it was only a normal bleeding during pregnancy? 19th is the day when i'm taking the test

I think I had one of these last year. Tested positive and it was early. Went in for a checkup due to bleeding days later and the dr told me that my cervix was opening. She prescribed some progesterone meds and had an ultrasound a week later. There was no sac. Still had hcg levels in blood tests and were slowing going down. 😣😣 I got severely depressed and my MIL was just telling me that it wasn’t a real pregnancy and I shouldn’t worry. 😣😔
Don't have time to read through all the comments but people with certain blood clotting issues will also have recurrent chemical pregnancies. So it is NOT always something wrong with the the egg/sperm. If there is not enough bloodflow to the uterus implantation will fail just like if there is severe estrogen/progesterone imbalance. I have low vitamin k which led to low protein s and c which causes clotting resulting in less blood flow to the uterus (this is commonly found in people with sjogrens and lupus, however mine's aquired and a long story). I lose my babies between 4 to 8wks. Of course there could be many causes of early miscarriage but don't allow a specialist to tell you that it's always natures way of naturally aborting a non viable pregnancy. It could just be that your body is amiss in certain nutrients or chemicals required for a healthy womb/implantation. I've had at least 3 to 4 and pretty sure I'm in the middle of another one. Not exactly trying to conceive anymore but it happens and as a women, we know when something's gone on in there.
My period is 28days and this month I missed it from 12/6 and it was nearly 7 days I had light brown discharge I thought of implantation and left as it is but since the day of my conception uptil the 12th day of missed period my cervix lies very low down to the vagina is it very serious for a miscarriage or a chemical pregnancy that is going to lead miscarriage?

I didnt know chemical pregnancy exist, Ive had one ..😭 i went with a Geneoligist , he did ultrasound & said i was fine 🤷 but we have been trying ever since & no results yet ...

I m teenagers.. Fast i saw i got positive pregnancy test.. After two day i got my period...then test show positive for 2week and i did ultrasound but they show nothing..and after 3week test shows nagitive...and next month i got my regular period.. that means i m not pregnant right..please reply me...

At 4 weeks my hcg was 12 two days later it was 4.7, I experienced period like cramps and very little spotting(dark brown) only on that day. The doctor told me it would result in a miscarriage. It's now almost a week later and I still haven't start bleeding yet and haven't experienced any cramping since that day. The spotting was only enough to fill 1 pantyliner, and is no way near to my normal 4 day period. Is this normal?

Question: not sure if heavy period or chemical pregnancy bleed. How long after the bleed can a pregnancy test indicate pregnancy…? Thought this was a heavy period so, no lead up tests. Absolutely do not want a pregnancy. Heavy period came early, not usually heavy and spotted for days. After the fact, makes me think this was a chemical pregnancy bleed … 2-3 weeks post (possible) conception. Thoughts?

Hey, I have five positive pregnancy test, with very very faint line, I went to doctor after 5 days of missing my period, they did beta hcg test and that was 0.05 , they gave me some medicine like premolute n and misoprostol, and I got my period, but period remains only two days my period usually remains 4-5 days what is this, there is any chance of pregnancy still ? Do you ovulate after a chemical pregnancy or do you have to wait for a period? I had a chemical pregnancy 3 weeks ago and I bled for 7 days (which is my normal period length) After the blood was gone I started actively tracking my ovulation but I only get a very faint line.

Same, we tried during ovulation.yesterday 3/22/2020 I was 4 days late on my period but later on in the evening I starting bleeding. It was heavy and cloth. This morning 3/23/2020 my bleeding still heavy. So not sure if it’s implantation bleeding , my period or a chemical pregnancy

Good day, i did a pregnancy test, because i was delayed for a week already, and it went positive (with faint line in it) but i had my period d day after. After my period, just to make sure we did the HCG count blood test and resulted to 32mui/ml. We went to the gyne to make sure and they found nothing inside. Did i just experienced chemical pregnancy? Is ther any way i can prevent it from happening again?

3/25 - 2 positive tests including a digital. 3/26 - 2 positive tests. 3/26 negative doctors test. 3/28 - negative digital and light positive on a cheap test. I also have a small amount of Light pink spotting. Is this a chemical? My period was due on the 23rd but they’re usually irregular so no clue when my ovulation really was. Any advice is appreciated. 💛
If you’re experiencing only light spotting - or light bleeding after a positive pregnancy test - it could be implantation bleeding - which is a normal sign of a healthy pregnancy. Idk how many I’ve had but I’ve gotten so many positive tests and then gotten my period and I’m so nervous that something is wrong with me. It’s definitely been more than 2. Im gonna try to set up an appointment with a gynecologist soon to make sure everything is ok

If you get chemical pregnancy and bleed afterwards, would you say that this is a period or will you still get a period later on?
I just went through one recently, it was a very sad experience as I was extremely exited to get a positive but I believe everything happens for a reason and I know it’s for the best, hopefully my next pregnancy is a healthy happy one 🤲🏼

Edit: for context I've been actively trying to get pregnant with baby number 2 for the last 9 months (it took 6 months for my 1st). it's been really hard to track my periods because I've always had an irregular ovulation cycle. I was doing exactly what you mentioned, taking a pregnancy test almost every day, and getting extremely upset and depressed when it would be negative or when I would get my period. My husband suggested I relax and take a break from "trying so aggressively" meaning not tracking my cycle or constantly taking pregnancy test. So I did and about a month ago I started noticing a change. Pregnancy symptoms like the ones I had with my 1st that where very different than anything I felt this last year...But since I wasn't tracking the days that we were trying I wasn't sure if it was too soon to do a pregnancy test and I tried my best to hold off as long as possible. When I finally did it's because my symptoms where just too much to ignore (heartburn, constipation, constantly having to pee and nausea) but.... It was negative. I was so confused and to make matters worse the next day I had the worse period. It lasted 7-8 days and was heavy and dark with incredibly painful cramps. I was horribly depressed... It's been a few days and it finally passed and now I am wondering if I possibly had a CP.

Vanessa, thanks for reaching out and good question. It sounds like you might have had a chemical pregnancy and if that's the case, my heart goes out to you. If so, this doesn't mean you and your husband are not compatible. It just means that sometimes there's something off at the cellular level of this particular sperm and egg combo. However it is always good to check in with your doctor too. They can do a sperm analysis and evaluate your hormones, fertility too. Sometimes these answers can help us better understand causes for repeat chemical pregnancies. But if it was just one chemical pregnancy, it's likely that something that had nothing to do with you two as a pair caused it. My first pregnancy test came out positive with the test line a little faint. After 4 days I did the test again to make sure but the result is negative as well as my 3rd and 4th test. I don't really know what happened, I didn't get my period this past 2 months. Am I sick or did I had miscarriage? I had some pregnancy symptoms like nausea and everything.

I just had a BFP 2 weeks ago and then after a week i was bleeding, but different bleeding for me wasnt like on my period. From what I ve read says that i can wait up till 7 days to make another pregnancy test after bleeding. The bleeding was only for 2 days, the doctor said to me that it was an early miscarriage but i Kind of dont feel that. Is it possible for hcg level to GO up again if it was only a normal bleeding during pregnancy? 19th is the day when i'm taking the test

I think I had one of these last year.
Tested positive and it was early. Went in for a checkup due to bleeding days later and the dr told me that my cervix was opening. She prescribed some progesterone meds and had an ultrasound a week later. There was no sac. Still had hcg levels in blood tests and were slowing going down. 😣😣 I got severely depressed and my MIL was just telling me that it wasn’t a real pregnancy and I shouldn’t worry. 😣😔

Don't have time to read through all the comments but people with certain blood clotting issues will also have recurrent chemical pregnancies. So it is NOT always something wrong with the the egg/sperm. If there is not enough bloodflow to the uterus implantation will fail just like if there is severe estrogen/progesterone imbalance. I have low vitamin k which led to low protein s and c which causes clotting resulting in less blood flow to the uterus (this is commonly found in people with sjogrens and lupus, however mine's aquired and a long story). I lose my babies between 4 to 8wks. Of course there could be many causes of early miscarriage but don't allow a specialist to tell you that it's always natures way of naturally aborting a non viable pregnancy. It could just be that your body is amiss in certain nutrients or chemicals required for a healthy womb/implantation. I've had at least 3 to 4 and pretty sure I'm in the middle of another one. Not exactly trying to conceive anymore but it happens and as a women, we know when something's gone on in there.
My period is 28days and this month I missed it from 12/6 and it was nearly 7 days I had light brown discharge I thought of implantation and left as it is but since the day of my conception uptil the 12th day of missed period my cervix lies very low down to the vagina is it very serious for a miscarriage or a chemical pregnancy that is going to lead miscarriage?

I had two positives pregnancy test and the rest are negatives. Taken in different days, No bleeding whatsoever...last period was more than a month ago.
At 4 weeks my hcg was 12 two days later it was 4.7, I experienced period like cramps and very little spotting(dark brown) only on that day. The doctor told me it would result in a miscarriage. It's now almost a week later and I still haven't start bleeding yet and haven't experienced any cramping since that day.
The spotting was only enough to fill 1 pantyliner, and is no way near to my normal 4 day period.
Is this normal?

Question: not sure if heavy period or chemical pregnancy bleed. How long after the bleed can a pregnancy test indicate pregnancy…? Thought this was a heavy period so, no lead up tests. Absolutely do not want a pregnancy. Heavy period came early, not usually heavy and spotted for days. After the fact, makes me think this was a chemical pregnancy bleed … 2-3 weeks post (possible) conception. Thoughts?

Hey, I have five positive pregnancy test, with very very faint line, I went to doctor after 5 days of missing my period, they did beta hcg test and that was 0.05 , they gave me some medicine like premolute n and misoprostol, and I got my period, but period remains only two days my period usually remains 4-5 days what is this, there is any chance of pregnancy still ? After the blood was gone I started actively tracking my ovulation but I only get a very faint line.

Same, we tried during ovulation.yesterday 3/22/2020 I was 4 days late on my period but later on in the evening I starting bleeding. It was heavy and cloth. This morning 3/23/2020 my bleeding still heavy. So not sure if it’s implantation bleeding , my period or a chemical pregnancy

Good day, i did a pregnancy test, because i was delayed for a week already, and it went positive (with faint line in it) but i had my period d day after. After my period, just to make sure we did the HCG count blood test and resulted to 32mui/ml. We went to the gyne to make sure and they found nothing inside. Did i just experienced chemical pregnancy? Is ther any way i can prevent it from happening again?

Sometimes it is an increase in the progesterone hormone. Others it is about improving egg health with things like DHEA. We would definitely recommend checking in with a doctor or natural fertility specialist.

3/25 - 2 positive tests including a digital. 3/26 - 2 positive tests. 3/26 negative doctors test. 3/28 - negative digital and light positive on a cheap test. I also have a small amount of Light pink spotting. Is this a chemical? My period was due on the 23rd but they’re usually irregular so no clue when my ovulation really was. Any advice is appreciated. 💛
If you’re experiencing only light spotting - or light bleeding after a positive pregnancy test - it could be implantation bleeding - which is a normal sign of a healthy pregnancy. However, if you are unsure and if you think you may have experienced a miscarriage, please call your doctor. They can help you determine the cause of your spotting. Spotting can be an indicator of a number of things, often times hormonal related. 💗
