Quiznos was the best sandwich shop for years. They changed their menu and it changed their business. The bag is wet because the sandwiches are hot.
I loved them, and they left my city years ago.
I miss their horseradish sauce!
I remember in 2010 when I was pregnant with my daughter. I ate at Quiznos very frequently, I craved the italian sub all the time lol. The workers knew my husband by face lol. 😂

@@IRC1026it honestly ruined the opinions for me when he would let the food get cold & soggy, which ruined the whole concept of the videos. I hope he continues to take this into consideration because it’s a more accurate portrayal of the food. Most ppl know that if you let food sit & get cold it won’t be great!

Sameee 😭😭 stupid greedy corporate ruined it for everyone including the franchises who were usually people from others countries trying to make it in America and they lost so much money my fam was very close with one of the owners and their fam ran the business and by the end they were loosing more money then getting back because corporate wouldn’t let them get ingredients anywhere but from them so like they would pay 10 dollars a pound for meat when they could literally go to the grocery store and get it for 2 dollars a pound.

They still have several open locations that I've visited recently. Denver Colorado, Salt Lake City Utah, and Lorain Ohio.
I’d join the Support group. The Quiznos nearest to me had the nicest owner who always remembered customers when they entered the store. The Turkey & Ranch sandwich was my favorite….there was something special about the bread, sauce and how they toasted it via the toasting belt. I also loved the Raspberry Lemonade drink they had in the huge fountain. Please come back Quiznos! 😢

Quiznos and Steak & Shake both suffered from corporate mismanagement. Quiznos franchisees at one point were in a lawsuit against corporate because according to the business model, corporate was overcharging for ingredients that must be purchased from the company, which especially hurt when Subway was running it's $5 foot-long promotion.
And those ingredients were sub-par (lol puns) despite the "reasoning" given for that decision, which was that it would give Quizno's more control over sourcing, therefore the ability to purchase better ingredients.
In reality, someone in charge just chose the cheapest sources for the big menu change, and ruined the quality for all of them.
I worked at one for a couple months just after the change - it was awful. I tried as many different sandwiches as I could for my shift meals and they all had at least one element that ruined each one.
Perfect explaination as to why Quizno's failed. Poor franchise management. Sad, because the quality of the food is so good!

Yes, and that is exactly what also happened to the two other restaurants that I recommended to Raphael that I would frequent back when I was working @ the downtown Public Library here in Atlanta from 1996 to 2003, Schlotzsky’s Deli and Gorin’s Cafe. Another restaurant that I also enjoyed a great deal back then (when I was in my 30’s) that Raphael should try to find a location would be Fuddruckers Hamburgers (Raphael getting to choose your own toppings for your own burgers made Fuddruckers one of the most unique restaurants, also Fuddruckers hamburger meat back then also tasted more like steak then Steak ‘n’ Shakes ever did). Fuddruckers was also fun to mispronounce when you tried to say it several times to fast😂.
That tape from Quiznos is NOT duct tape. You cannot tear duct tape with your fingers. What they use is a freezer tape that is used at meat markets, grocery store meat depts., delis etc. along with the white freezer paper your sandwiches were wrapped in. It is a tape more like masking tape but designed to stay secured when frozen.

Quzinos failed because they screwed over their franchise owners not because the food was bad. They over charged them for ingredients and wouldn't let them go to other suppliers. Then they let anyone buy a franchise and put it anywhere. So they competed against themselves. At one point there were 3 within 5-10 minute walking distance of where I worked. Once Subway started offering hot sandwiches and other places like Potbelly came along, they started to go under quick.

Steak ‘n Shake used to be the absolute best! They were open 24 hours and they were super popular around where I lived. Also, the deals were great! They used to have a 4 for $4 which was four different menu items that were less than $4. (I used to get the double steak burger and fries). They also had this fry seasoning that was spectacular, and they have a unique cut of French fry. Anyways, the pandemic absolutely destroyed them. Afterwards, the quality decreased, prices increased, etc
Most locations in my area closed. But a double steak burger with mustard, ketchup and pickles is so good. Haven’t had one in years! Or a double on sourdough with a ton of grilled onions. The last remaining location now doesn’t even have the chicken strips anymore and the quality has gone downhill
I used to LOVE Steak n Shake however the fries seasoning here in FL you can legit get at the supermarket... It's in the popcorn topping section🤢
Prior to the pandemic they had such a better menu being so many more options. I know it’s known for the steak burgers but they had this double spicy chicken patty, 2 fried chicken breast filets with lettuce, tomato, and blue cheese or ranch… mmm so good.. I remember having breakfast there too, and it was awesome late night… now it’s basically just a fast food burger places 😢
The hamburger is actually ground up steak and I love the double steak burger with cheese and lettuce and tomato. Back in the day it was a drive in and the carhops were on roller skates. It was awesome
Soooo.. ground beef ?.. basically a normal burger.. not sure you've ever seen how mince beef/ground beef is made.. is literally ground up steak and beef cubes into a machine that grounds it.. 😅
@@Lookforthelight01ground beef and ground steak are made with different cuts though… ground beef a lot of times made with trimmings. Ground steak is meant to be a particular cut of steak ground up

It's ground steak, so it's supposed to be ground premium cuts of steak. The cheese toasty is called a patty melt.

@@marymc63corporate screwed over their franchise owners by making them get all supplied and ingredients from them but they would over charge to make quick money at the cost of the franchise owners so like they would make them buy 10 dollars a a pound meat when it was literally 2 dollars at the grocery store. The owners in my town said by the end they were putting money from their own pockets just to keep the place open because they were loosing way more money then they were making because of corporate greed. The worst part is most franchise owners were foreigners just trying to start a life in America and it made so many go into debt :(
I really loved this video idea! I always love it when you try American chain restaurants. I also love when you try random food from the grocery store.
Quiznos corporate owned a company called American food distributors that the franchisees has to buy all there supplies from and corporate was making more money from that and at the same time causing franchise owners to overspend on supplies and made it to hard to turn a profit from the subs.

Theres still Quiznos in canada I usually get it every monday at work and it is definitely better than subway.
Also, you know they sell already spiralized zucchini noodles at places like Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. I’m pretty sure I even saw some frozen ones in the frozen vegetable section…I think at Walmart. So you don’t have to get any special equipment to make them yourself!

It is called a steak burger because it is made with ground steaks, not ground beef (random cuts of beef). When it first opened, they even had a window in the kitchen, so that you could see them grinding the actual steaks.
What cuts of steak did they grind for it? If they didn’t specify then what’s the difference?
That’s probably why they don’t show them grinding it anymore.
Quiznos is way better then Subway . But Quiznos is way more expensive . And Subway is more cheaper . That's why I have not been to a Quiznos in such a very long time
I used to work at Quiznos when I was in high school and I can assure you that store was not set up to be a Quiznos, it must have previously been some other food restaurant prior. Quiznos does not use a flat top to cook your food normally, all was either done in an au jus dip or via the microwave and the toaster was a conveyor belt system that the sandwiches would roll through and cook like at a Burger King (I also worked there when I was 14 😅). I think since this store wasn't designed properly, that's why your sandwiches took forever. Should have taken around 5 min only if there was no one in front of you for your order! Try another one sometime if you can find it 😉

There used to be a Steak ‘n Shake 2 miles from my house. At one point they were open 24 hours. I loved going there for breakfast. They had a burger with a fried egg on it. You could actually get that all day. Also for breakfast, they had hashrounds that had garlic seasoning. It was great if you were up late at night, too. The one near me had a drive-through. I actually never went inside. First they cut back on the hours, then they closed. Happened during the pandemic. It was replaced by a place called Slim Chickens. It was busy for a few weeks, now it seems slow every time I drive by. It’s just another chicken finger place. How many chicken finger places do we need? There are already 4 different ones near me and I hear 2 more are coming.
Last time I ate at Steak N Shake I got severe food poisoning that nearly hospitalized me. Not sad it is gone.

Worked at quiznos for roughly 8 or 9 years. The food is great, probably the best fast food sandwich place. Unfortunately do to a combination of corporate greed and terrible marketing/business decisions caused the company to go bankrupt.

american culture is very appealing to outsiders, especially with social media now. he also didn’t grow up in london, you can tell by his accent. he’s been obsessed with america to the point where he applied for residency here and moved a while back. a lot of non americans would move here if they got the chance.

Quiznos was awesome but then they just... Kind of stopped trying. I remember they had brocolli cheddar soup as a side for awhile that was really good and this was before Panera came around with theirs.

I do know that the noodle company if you pay for a regular and your bowls are not filled to the top then they are not following their own policy. Same with the small bowls which I know they haven't been doing since COVID and it sounds like they lowered the flavor standards.

Raphael, I’m glad you found one of the few remaining Quiznos. They were one of my ideal places for lunch when I was working @ the downtown Public Library here in Atlanta (Quiznos never failed to satisfy me) from 1996 to 2003. It was also was one of the best restaurants to stop @ in walking around MetroAtlanta for over 10 years after that. There are 2 recommendations from me of restaurants that I would frequent from that time period of 1996 to 2003 that were more numerous back then that aren’t anymore that you have to find a location, Raphael, that you have to get and try food and drink from and that would be a Schlotzsky’s Deli (one of them was very close to where I was living back in 1996 to 2003, and would be frequented by me for dinner, and lunch on my days off), and Gorin’s Cafe (again, locations were near my house and that library back in 1996 to 2003, as well close to where I usually went to the movies then, I’d sneak in food from Gorin’s to watch several big films back then including all three Austin Powers films and 2 of the Jurassic Park films and Titanic). Gorin’s was my 2nd favorite restaurant back then after Quiznos/Schlotzsky’s.
There is a difference between ground steak and ground "beef" and a far cry difference between beef and McD's "beef?" patty.
Quiznos essentially shut down due to greed (over charging franchisee's for materials) and of course, the same reason everything else good is destroyed... bought by a private equity firm.

The shakes at Steak & Shake were half price from 2-4 pm every day! They had the most amazing shakes and tons of mix-ins. The burgers were good! I wish we had one around here.

They were the bomb, look at their commercials. Sadly they are no longer here in Oregon, also they were the first to toast their sandwiches back then. I still miss their cheese and broccoli soup to dip the subs in.
OMG, their broccoli and cheese soup was the best I had ever had. I’m in the Portland Metro area (Beaverton) and Quiznos was the only sandwich shop we used to go to. Their turkey, ranch, and Swiss was EVERYTHING to me! We never find ourselves in Vancouver, but I know there are two locations that we can go to there if we’re ever up in Washington. Quiznos was our most favorite of closed locations. Too bad corporate got greedy, but such is life in America.
My dad worked with one of the guys who opened Firehouse subs, in my hometown. They were my favorite place to go, before they sold to Arby’s. If you’ve had them within the last year, that’s why it changed.

Yes, Raphael, take a trip north to Concord, CA and go and try one of the few remaining Fuddruckers. Fuddruckers hamburger meat from what I remember when there were more of in MetroAtlanta was much more steak then Steak ‘n’ Shakes ever were. Fuddruckers fries were actual steak fries like (still potato, but thick), and their milkshakes were very creamy good, plus Fuddruckers made/make the best, moist, gooey, delicious brownies and chocolate chip cookies around. And take a trip east to one of the remaining Arizona locations of a Schlotzsky’s Deli (2 in Phoenix). Can’t find a Gorin’s Cafe location near you on-line, though.

Quiznos reminds me of Blimpies. Omg what I would do for a Blimpies sandwich. We used to have one in our town back in 2006. Then up and gone. I know they are still around in very few areas like Quiznos. I miss both places. 😪
I loved this video concept!
I was in the produce/grocery supply to restaurants and institutions for 40 years. One of my local customers was a very sharp and personable man that owned a Quizno's franchise. He did well at 1st but then Quizno's forced him to purchase only from the foodservice giant Sysco at inflated prices and he could only get 1 or 2 deliveries per week. I'm sure the parent company was pocketing some "rebate" money from Sysco in exchange for this contract pricing. He wasn't even allowed to buy lettuce and tomatoes, 2 of the keys to his business locally on a daily basis to assure freshness. So he did it behind their backs anyway. Then they started jacking with other parts of the franchisee agreements and basically screwing over the very people that made them successful in the first place. He finally got sick of it and shut down both of his stores and opened a Which Wich sandwich chain and is doing well.

Many many years ago, the Quiznos Chicken Carbonara sandwich was one of my absolute favorite sandwiches from a chain. I'd be so happy if I could have one again.
