You should go back to what you did in London once. You had the food delivered staggered so you got to try each restaurant’s food while it was warm/hot. Food that’s served hot just tastes differently once it’s cold.
Your major issue with Cracker Barrel was you were missing all of the sauces. Fried pickles come with ranch. Chicken fried steak comes with white pepper gravy. Beignets come with caramel or chocolate sauce. Peach cobbler comes with vanilla ice cream.
I highly recommend you try some of these meals fresh at the restaurant. I love Cracker Barrel’s dumplings but only when they’re hot. It’s not a fair representation when you try something that’s been sitting around getting cold.
I agree he should try them fresh but tbh temperature isn't going to change the amount of seasoning in the food so if the dumplings are bland, the dumplings are bland (to him). I love chicken and dumplings but I'm not a big fan of cracker barrel because it tastes like school lunch food. And I feel like if a meal tastes good even when cold that's a good sign that it's good overall and not just when it's hot.
I get chicken and dumplings at cracker barrel and there never even hot there, mostly barely warm but I have to say I do love them I've never even eaten Cheddar's or A &W I'm very picky about the restaurants I go to
I'm half Asian. Hence, when I think of dumplings, I think of dim dum and postickers. It's a sorry looking dumpling to me if you do not have the filling the size of mini dumpling.

Hi, Raphael. I think if you ate the food hot and fresh, you would get a different impression of the food. Also, just fyi, the monte cristo should have come with a side of raspberry preserves or jam to dip it in.
I made a homemade Monti Cristo the other day. The jam on the side is a must. Also, a lot of these foods will not be good cold. I’ve noticed he eats a lot of cold food. 😅

That sauce on the meatloaf was the Butter Pecan sauce for the Biscuit Beignes. They definitely need the sauce 😅 I personally prefer their breakfast honestly. I will have to try the other restaurants soon. Thank you for your honest reviews! 💙
In defense of red Robin french fries, they are delicious when you eat them when they are hot. Go into the restaurant sit down and order the food. Totally different experience.

Most of this stuff needed to be eaten while hot to get the best experience. Give them all another chance Rapha.. And yes 2 hours was too long to still expect the chips, covered in toppings, to still be crunchy. Plus most stuff is in plastic containers and sweating making it even more soggy on top of being cold. Still love ya
I usually just get breakfast at Cracker Barrel, but I feel like all of the food in this video would be better hot. The chicken fried steak is served with white pepper gravy, and putting the gravy on the potatoes was a bonus move.

It's sooooo much fun to watch you try all these foods for the first time. I agree with some of the comments that some of the problems you may be having with the foods is that they're no longer hot. Especially cheesy stuff that should be melted and hot. Love Love Love your videos!
Tijuana Flats blackened chicken tacos in hard shells are fantastic. Also their hot sauce bar in the restaurant is great. Their burritos are also good. As far as the nachos, what do you expect? After 2 hours of course they are soggy.
Some of these items would most definitely be better when fresh. It's worth trying them fresh but some are great even cold and that speaks highly to quality 😁👍 Awesome video! Love seeing these! Many blessings ❤️
At the restaurant the "hot fudge and Caramel" would have been on the mud pie and they would be warm. I wish you heated up the gravy and put it on the chicken fried steak.

The cream gravy from Cheddars is supposed to go over the chicken-fried steak; you always eat chicken-fried steak with cream gravy! I'm from Texas - we know how to do chicken-fried steak!
It's always so interesting watching you try the American restaurants.. In 🇨🇦 we have Pickle Barrel and A&W burgers are named mama, papa, teen burger etc.. I think you ate a double teen burger! I've never seen mini corn dogs or cheese curds but poutine.. now that's something we have at many restaurants! Lol
Canadian here. A&W in Canada and US are owned and operated separately. Which I find weird. Hence the simple menu here in Canada that slaps ever other fast food chain vs the atrocities on the American menu lol.
Southern cornbread is drier because it’s meant to be dipped into side dishes like greens, squash casseroles or gravies to soak up the liquids. It’s not meant to be eaten alone. Some just lay a thick layer of butter on top. The chicken fried chicken was definitely supposed to have cream gravy. The fried pickles usually are sold with a ranch variation of dip.

Oh no! Tijuana Flats used to be one of my favorites! 2 hours is way too long! It has to be enjoyed immediately… I wouldn’t even get it delivered. 😭 Edit- yours looked particularly bad. Our cookie dough rolls are usually crispy on the outside.
Trivia time: the Monte Christo sandwich was invented at the Blue Lagoon Cafe in Disneyland, CA. This restaurant is located next to the start of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I actually had one there back in the 80s. It was great then.
This sandwich was around a lot earlier than Disneyland. Various versions have been around in cookbooks since the 1930's at least, and also on restaurant menus. It wasn't invented at Disneyland. When they put it on their menu, more people had it and realized it was a great sandwich. I also had it at the Blue Lagoon when it first appeared and wow, it was fabulous. Basically this sandwich is based on a French sandwich called Croque Monsieur.
You're right. My memory seems to have glitched. And it was the Blue Bayou, not the Blue Lagoon. And you're also right that the restaurant did popularize the sandwich in America. @@retromoviefan944
The thing I notice most with foreigners who try to eat American foods for the first time is that very rarely, if ever, eat them with the proper condiment or sauce/gravy. Fried Pickles are pretty much always served with Ranch Dressing. And are quite delicious that way. I had my first fried pickles at a local mom & pop restaurant 33 years ago. And instantly fell in love with them. Country Fried Steak or Chicken is meant to be served with Sawmill Gravy. (Sausage Gravy without the chunks of Sausage) Sawmill Gravy is simply Flour, Milk, Sausage Grease, and then salt and pepper to taste. This gravy works well for Chicken Tenders/Fingers too. Certain restaurants that serve Chicken Tenders will often offer White Gravy as a side. SONIC and Dairy Queen, are two that I can think of. The hot Gravy helps soften up the Fried batter and brings in more flavor to the meat. My usual go to meal at mom & pop diner-like restaurants is Country Fried Steak with Greenbeans, Mashed Potatoes, and Corn Nuggets if they have them and a dinner roll of course. Depends if they offer 2 or 3 sides.
Omg I love the apple pie pizza from cicis also the mac and cheese pizza. You basically got everything I would've at the buffet (it's a buffet inside). It's all much better hot and fresh as is everything
Every Tijuana Flats on the East Coast of Florida that our family has eaten at is delicious! That food you got looked horrible. You should dine in and experience the hot sauce bar.
This! I’m in fl and our family LOVES Tijuana but everything is much better as soon as you get it not waiting 2 hours to eat it and not reheating it smh
You need to go to a state fair (any state) and try the unusual foods there. The states seem to try to outdo each other with weird food combinations. Put it on your calendar for summer, although my family in Florida says their fair is in Feb.
Raphael, you are a gem who makes me chuckle thru every video, with 1 big ROTFL each time..."Tim Please-don't-Cook"! 🤣 Most of these we don't have in Canada 😏💜🇨🇦
That white gravy from Cheddars is likely for the chicken fried steak, that is traditional. I have never tried most of these chains (I am Canadian but have been to the U.S. quite a bit) but we have A&W in Canada but with different menu items, the only thing familiar from what you sampled is the root beer.
Most of the establishments that was called "fast food" are not fast food. In the states I have yet to see a fast food place serve acohol (or with actual bars in them). I agree with most comments about letting the good sit to long. Imagine how delicious the food that he gushed over was, while it was still fresh. Either stagger picking up/delivery & film, then the next order, go sit in the actual restuarant, or order less for each video (and still stagger lol). 🎉Happy New Years🎉
A&w is really popular in Canada but I've never seen any of those sides the difference is wild I'm glad you like it tho means you don't have to be killed by the geese Amazing video keep up the good work🎉
Isn't A&W a Canadian chain ❔❓ As a Canadian and former A&w employee myself I agree I have never heard of those items ❕❗ He should of got a teen burger❕❗
A&W in the USA and Canada are so different. If you want to give yourself a "I'm from Canada" vibe ask for any one of the family burgers they have no clue but do know you are a Canadian. Their buns even taste totally different. For those questioning if this is a Canadian or USA restaurant they have 2 companies one for each country. They were founded in Canada. They are now all Franchises in Canada now anyways.
I work at Cracker Barrel - the sauce you put on your meatloaf was the pecan syrup you were supposed to dip your beignets into 😂😂😂
I didn't know exactly what it was but I knew it was a syrup and not gravy I went nooo why are you pouring syrup on the meatloaf 😭😱 😅
it used to be for the beignets. now it's meatloaf gravy ! i'm going to try it next time.
I just don't understand trying these foods without researching the food a bit first at least enough to know what goes with what. Like come on.
What? No way! That's fucking ridiculous. You'd think Europeans just don't know anything about sauces.

Chicken fried steak comes with white pepper gravy.
Beignets come with caramel or chocolate sauce.

I loathe CB, but yes, I think if he had the sauces for the foods, that they migfht have eeeked up at least a point or 2.

The country fried steak is supposed to be served with the white gravy. The bread is to absorb the oil so the steak doesn’t get soggy.
Raphael I honestly think you could go head-to-head with Keith from the Try Guys in terms of the amount of food you just happily mowed through! 😂
I am from Wisconsin and it’s funny how much you reference us and our cheese-Love it!
I love how watching Raphael feels like eating with a friend who talks a lot 🤭 youre very entertaining.
I got modified Monte Cristos but they are so good with the standard raspberry dipping sauce.
I can’t get to back to CA before March, your videos keep me going ❤
P.S. the gravy from Cheddars was for the top of the country fried steak.
I love that even if he already knows is going to be bad he takes a big bite ❤❤😂
You need Cracker Barrel for breakfast. So good and fresh. Plus, you need to do a reaction video of the store inside! I hope you see this and try it.
Your vids are always so hilarious 😂 but that orange vest is giving construction vibes 🤣🤣
It's time for the best RUclipsr on this platform
I used to live near an A&W. I agree the burgers are amazing. Contemplating a road trip to have a fast food burger now.
🎉Happy New Years🎉
Those dumplings from cracker barrel looks like ravioli and chicken alfredo ngl
A&w is really popular in Canada but I've never seen any of those sides the difference is wild I'm glad you like it tho means you don't have to be killed by the geese
Amazing video keep up the good work🎉
As a Canadian I appreciate this comment. If you like A&W you are goose approved lol.
@@1dayatatime Founded in Canada so yes they are a Canadian franchise❕❗
Also, to get A&W and not get Onion Rings!! @@PurpleCinnamon-Land-Of-Misfits
Dumplings are a true United States Southern dish. We like them probably because we grew up eating them especially at Thanksgiving.
