Many thanks for this comprehensive ROS2 series. Your explanation is very intuitive and easy to understand. I had programming background but not in robotics and ros, your videos helped me to understand the fundamentals and much needed info to work in ros2. Great work! Keep them coming.
Good video. If I don't recall bad, the operating system name has is related with the beginnings of ROS (ROS1), I believe in the origins it was really an operating system but then they did some changes at ROS2 (if I am not wrong)
ROS 1 also wasn't an operating system ever. I don't know if it was though to be one before they changed the design. I'll see if I find something more. Haven't yet :)
It depends on how recently you started with ROS. If you're planning to start learning, I would say that ROS 2 will eventually be the de facto, so it shouldn't be ignored. One problem here is that ROS 2 documentation and online support is not as strong as that of ROS 1 (because ROS 1 is older). So if I were to learn ROS, I would start with ROS 1 official tutorials (at least 1-18 beginner level here: wiki.ros.org/ROS/Tutorials), and then move to ROS 2 official tutorials. After that, working on a ROS-based project is the best way to go. Btw, I also have many blogs about learning Robotics and ROS on medium - medium.com/@thehummingbird Maybe that helps in some way. I'll be uploading a video comparing ROS 1 and 2 this Sunday. If you know the basics of ROS 1, it can help as well :) I hope this helps you in some way!
This video is so much underrated... You did a great job to explain the idea and principles behind ROS that I haven't found so far. Thanks a lot!!!
Intro of ROS was bang on and well explained! Kudos for bringing it down into such a simple form! 🎉
I'm glad you found this valuable, Kashif!

Thank you for your clear explanation! As a beginner, it has really helped to dispel all my confusion about ROS.
absolute crystal clear explanation !!! Loved it
You are a God send!! Literally. keep it up! You are very talented in teaching and explaining. 🙂
Great explanation.. 🔥

Well done! 👏
Good Lecture
Does ros2 nav support obstacle avoidance? Humble
Should we start with ros or ros2 directly?
