Great lesson yet again from Mark. You look at he time and think, why does he need 30 minutes to do that and after 20 minutes you realise that, not only are you playing it well but you also understand fully what you are doing.
Not only that but I was also able to start adding the improvs at the end, myself.
    Great teaching Mark. Well done.

27:30-28:30 you're the best teacher I've found. I'm learning a great deal from you. I would love to have tablature for 27:30 - 28:30. Thanks

Awesome lesson. Very Steely Dan, kept hearing Donald Fegan quietly singing in the background. Can't wait to get home and work on this. Thank you

Just today I was listening to Jamiroquai's Runaway trying to get the line down and I didn't really understand the timing. Felt odd. Eventually I got it down but I didn't really know why and how. 2 Hours later RUclips suggested this Video to me and when I saw you playing it I was thinking the notes from Runaway and it all started making sense. Thanks! :)

OK, it started to gel, finally. Now I gotta come back repeatedly till it really sinks in... then I'm gonna steal it all, LOL!!!
(but seriously, excellent lesson, this is the "improvising from the ground up" that I've been needing, thanks again.)

Ive always loved the bass never own one till about a month ago, cold blooded found a rogue six x 💯 strings and all fn in the street in working condition not a scratch on it I know its not a top of the line fender but I see it as a gift from the guitar Gods. I m a bit of a natural playing, Im following your lessons until my fingers bleed Marks aren't hard to understand, If I don't understand I just rewind and practice until I get it

Te lo pido hermano

Excellent teaching. Mark, you should start what you'll learn in this video and do quick mash up. I never know what I'll learn so I kinda skip through. Please mark the important sections on the time bar.

    Great lesson Mark!
One comment though; out of all the basses that you play in these videos, this Fender Jazz Bass (Marcus Miller signature?) that you play in this one, sounds the best. Just my opinion, and it's a bit biased because I only own Fender Jazz Basses - both the deluxe model and also the passive electronics model

    • @talkingbasslessons

Hi there. I can play guitar, keys and drums to some extent. I've done quite a few gigs on guitar, I played organ through my childhood years and had drum lessons at music college. In my experience, most professional musicians can play several instruments to a fairly high standard.

Oh dear, you must have got a duff version of the video: when I watched it the playing began after just 68 seconds.
You should ask for your money back....oh wait, it was free.
Ah well, guess you're just going to have to continue whining like a tedious little tosser and hope that puberty brings you a grown up attention span along with all the body hair and acne.

If you don´t like it, you can simply not watch it. He isn´t charging you anything and he´s explaining a lesson, so it´s your choice to watch it or not.
