I live in California and am 75. I probably will never get to see you in person. But when we all get to heaven and you do your first concert for Yeshua I promise I’ll be on the front row. God Bless you and your beautiful family.
I love this song. It was so meaningful to me as a kid raised in the Jesus People movement. Marsha Stevens-Pino wrote it in 1969, and it became a very important hymn to the young Christian hippies on the West Coast in the seventies and into the eighties. So sad that folks stopped singing it in 1981 after Marsha came out as a lesbian in 1981. So amazing that as a young, queer kid, I was singing "I felt every tear drop" while I was struggling with my identity in a community that didn't accept me. It's so beautiful that you are helping to bring it back. Hopefully, queer kids that hear it today will be served like I was by this song by a queer Christian woman.

Jesus died for our sins and this song always reminds me that a broken and contrite heart he won't reject. Word's cannot express how well your voices brought meaning to this song . Thank you
One reason may be because the song was suppressed after 1981, removed from hymnals and song lists, because the writer came out as a lesbian. She now helps organize BALM - Born Again Lesbian Music
This brings me to tears. I haven't heard this song for years. Hearing the family harmonies brings back such happy memories. Sitting by my Momma and hearing her beautiful alto voice. Just beautiful David and family!!
Written and sung by same person almost 50 years ago! Still as beautiful as it was when given to a young lady who wrote and sang it yeas ago. The truth of GODS love for us!
I guess your high school English teacher never taught you about using analogy in artistic works? Nobody is saying that Jesus actually died for our tears and not our sins. If you don't like the song, that's fine, but don't make yourself look dumb while trying to make others dislike it. Thanks for the theological revelation.
I JUST LOVE DAVID AND I HIS SWEET FAMILY.. BEAUTIFUL RENDITION OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS.. REMIND ME OF MY WONDERFUL SUNDAY CHOIR THANKS FOR SHARING. GOD'S RICHEST BLESSINGS FROM JAMAICA 🇯🇲.
I love this song. We sang it in chapel (Azusa Pacific College, Azusa, California) after Marsha Stevens got it copyrighted and published. She shared it with us in her dorm room after writing it and we encouraged her get it published. Thank you singing it with your daughters. I have always enjoyed hearing them sing too! Just beautiful! ♥️♥️🎵🎶🎼
@Nancy Ferrand I grew up in Azusa, CA! I was married in 1986 and attended my husband's church back then until we moved to the high desert. Our church was Bible Brethren Church in Glendora, CA and soon after I began attending their church, the name was changed to Cornerstone Bible Church. I bring this up because their choir used to sing this song and I cannot find anyone who sings it quite the same as they did. It's one of my favorites to this day. I used to sing this song to my baby girl, born in 1987, when she had sleepless nights. I go back and search for someone uploading a similar version of the song, sung in the way I fell in love with it. There was a young woman who played the harp and sang it so lovely but she seems to have taken her video down. So I keep searching. But this is also pretty version of such a comforting song.
AWESOME Harmonies! You have two beautiful daughters with the perfect blend with your voice - I play this song over and over on the DVD - LOVE it - Blessings of health - peace - joy and the love and light of our God and Jeshua to you and your family, David - Thank you for the gift of yourself to us through song!
@LesleyDzik 0 seconds ago I first heard and sang this song on Feb 4, 1984, at a Lay Witness Mission that came to my church. It so touched me and still goes straight to me heart. The tender portrayal of Jesus was nothing like anything I’d ever heard, and the next day, I responded to an invitation to receive as much of Christ as I understood, and was saved. So touched to find this recording today, as I’m seeking to trust Jesus even more, and let him have access to parts of my life I’ve held back from him. Thank you so much for writing and recording this song
I love this song. I love the dvd of this online concert. Your daughters have beautiful voices. It was great to see you in concert in November. Thank You, Jesus ✝️💜
I have loved that song since I first heard it back in the early 70's. I sang it as a solo in church and at the rescue mission in our city. It speaks to me in a way I can't explain. I have not heard it in over 45 years and I still remembered all the words. That was beautiful.
I had not heard this song before and the first time I got to listen to it was this one. It is Amazing.... I have listened to it over and over. I LOVE IT...... And Jesus said come stand by my side I know you are thirsty you won't be denied...... I can see Jesus telling someone that with so much love and care in His voice.... Oh, I remember the night he told me that He died for my sins..... I will never forget what He did for me.... And what He still does. I'm sorry I am rambling but this goes strait to my heart and reminds me just how wonderful our Lord and Savior is....
David I wanted to thank you for the wonderful harmonies with you and your. I can’t sing any more since 1996. December. I had a brain aneurysm and they striped my vocal cords. I listen every eve but I love Virtuasso. Bless to you and your family.
I have listened to this over and over and I can get lost in the beautiful and awesome harmony of David and his daughters - Calle - a special note to you - I used to sing alto and realize that sometimes you don't get the applause that you deserve - but you carry this beautifully - I am mesmerized by your voice and the love and light of God truly is shown by this family!
This was a song my aunt and mom used to sing together. I accompanied them once, about 30 years ago. It's always held a special place in my heart. This is an absolutely beautiful and captivating performance. I love it!! ❤️

You said you'd come and share all my sorrows You said you'd be there for all my tomorrows I came so close from sending you away But just like you promised You came here to stay I just had to pray And jesus said "come to the water Stand by my side I know you are thirsty You wont be denied I felt every teardrop When in darkness you cried And i strive to remind you For those tears i died Your goodness so great i cant understand And dear lord i know that this was all planned I know your here now, and always will be Your love loosed my chains and in you im free But jesus why me? And jesus said come to the water Stand by my side I know you are thirsty You wont be denied I felt every teardrop When in darkness you cried And i strove to remind you That for those tears i died

You said you'd come and share all my sorrows
You said you'd be there for all my tomorrows
I came so close from sending you away
But just like you promised
You came here to stay
I just had to pray
And jesus said "come to the water
Stand by my side
I know you are thirsty
You wont be denied
I felt every teardrop
When in darkness you cried
And i strive to remind you
For those tears i died
Your goodness so great i cant understand
And dear lord i know that this was all planned
I know your here now, and always will be
Your love loosed my chains and in you im free
But jesus why me?
And jesus said come to the water
Stand by my side
I know you are thirsty
You wont be denied
I felt every teardrop
When in darkness you cried
And i strove to remind you
That for those tears i died
Wonderful song from my teen years!!
So beautiful!
The song is very beautiful, it has touched my heart and I can't stop singing it. God bless you, thank you David for years of inspiration.
Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
You said you'd come and share all my sorrows
You said you'd be there for all my tomorrows
I came so close to sending you away
But just like you promised, you came there to stay
I just had to pray.
.
[Chorus]
And Jesus said, Come to the water, stand by my side,
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied.
I felt every teardrop when in darkness you cried,
And I give to remind you that for those tears I died

[Verse 2]
Your goodness so great I can't understand,
And, dear Lord, I know that this was all planned.
Saviour, you're here now, and always will be.
Your love loosed my chains, and in you I'm free
But Jesus why me.

[Chorus]
And Jesus said ...
.
[Verse 3]
Jesus, I give you my heart and my soul.
I know, without God I'd never be whole,
Saviour, you opened up all the right doors,
So I thank you and praise you from earth's humble shores.
Take me, I'm yours.

[Chorus]
And Jesus said ...
