Few if any times in life call for peace more than during the loss of a loved one. We’re excited to share the debut track off of our brand new album “Hymns” (coming Jan 12) which features GENTRI’s own Stephen Nelson who shares his tender feelings about the loss of his Mother and how this song brought him the much needed peace knowing that “when change and tears are past we shall meet at last.”

GENTRI♥️🙏🏾I love this hymn with all my heart,listened everyday from July 2023 on my cancer journey till today, after surgeries and radiation I’m all clear, blessed to be here in 2024
Thank you for this, I just came across it tonight. Three years ago today I found my sweet Momma on the kitchen floor. She had a stroke and could not talk but she could communicate with me. I was able to kiss her forehead and tell her that I loved her and that she was a good Momma the next morning right before she passed away on Christmas morning. Christmas will never be the same but your song helped me tonight. I share your grief and send you hugs!
To the children of this blessed mother, please live your lives in such a way. So that when you are reunited with your precious mama, it will be a joyous reunion
A 64 year old man has tears in his eyes here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On May 29th 1980 on Memorial Day, I lost my Mother. 40 years later, I miss her! January 3rd 2021
In 2011 I lost my sister to cancer, 4 months later my mom passed, 1 month later my Dad passed, and the next month my other sister. How do you grieve 4 people you love all at the same time? One at a time, with the Lord’s help. Only Christ can help you bear that much pain. I lost two more brothers this year and last year. Each one is with the Lord and I know I will see them again. Everything they taught me is still with me. May God bless and comfort all the grieving people. 💔🙏🏻💗👼🏻✝️😷

I lost my grandma last week to cancer. I thought I had gotten over the emotions. But listening to this song and the story that inspired this rendition, my emotions came rushing back again, but not with the sole grief I had felt but with a reassurance of God's presence in the midst of trying times.

Beautiful just beautiful. This song was played at my Grandfathers funeral. He was Finnish and this is also called Finlandia.
I lost my Dad at 620pm on April 20,2020. He was 94 and an veteran too. Thankful for this Gospel and knowing my Dad had an family reunion at same time. No more suffering for him. He will accept the fullness of the Gospel. Then one day my parents work will get done too.
I felt that exact peace you are singing about. On my plane flight home from my dad's hospital bed while looking out the plane I saw the most beautiful peaceful view out of the window of the plane. I just felt he was gone at that moment and was saying goodbye in the most beautiful way possible. When I landed in Baltimore 30 minutes later my wife met me at the gate and said "your dad passed away about 30 minutes ago". My response was 'I Know". To this day she asks how I knew with no cell phone on the plane.
Without exaggeration, I come back to this song every few weeks. Stephen is a gift.

Anyone here after listening to Stephen accompany Mat & Savanna Shaw (Hallelujah)? 'Be Still My Soul' is a beautiful tribute to Stephen's Mom...I love & miss my beautiful angel mom who died in 2015 taking part of me. 'May PEACE fill that void in our soul.'

This is the most beautiful song I’ve heard it really does help. I lost my dad a few years ago and I’m the only child. I have only just come to terms after four years coming up with it after going through a lot of stuff a couple of weeks ago I woke up Early in the morning and I feel at peace I think it was him telling me it’s time to let go and just remember the good times and the memories we had together. I still feel that way I’m getting ready to spread his ashes in the sea, since I felt like peace, your song makes me understand the feeling of peace ❤

I lost my mother suddenly more than 20 years ago and my father 8 years later to that beast cancer. The mourning never truly ends, but this sweet music softens the edges.

In 2010 I was the chorister in my church and responsible for picking the hymns we would sing. One Sunday I felt very impressed to sing this one, just a few days later my sister called me and told me my mom had cancer and just a few more months to live. Since she lived in Germany, I decided to fly out right away anyways - it turned out those months were only weeks. I was able to share this hymn i the forms of a recording with her, it comforted her and our family - this has a very special place in my heart. Thank you so much for this recording. I will certainly try to see if I can perform this in my congregation.

My mother passed away 4 weeks ago. I live 5 hours away from my Mam and Dad. I received the phonecall in the early hours of the morning and as I was on the very last part of the journey, I felt prompted to turn off the radio and to sing some songs. I sang the primary song 'Mother tell me the stories' and I as I sang the second verse, (Child, I am here. Can you feel that heaven is near?), I was ovecome with the spirit and filled with peace. As I arrived at the house, my brother opened the door to tell me that I had missed her; Mam had died 20 minutes ago. But I already knew. That witness of the spirit had told me that Mam had left her mortal existence. Be still my soul has always been a source of comfort to me and this is a beautiful arrangement that I have shared with my grieving siblings.

I lost my mom a few months ago-She was a key person in my spiritual growth and my best friend. I feel she is always with me. It will be a true heavenly joy to celebrate with her when we meet again. I lost my Mother to Cancer,my heart broke.She was my best friend and confidont. I still cry sometimes,and it's been many years.
Being away on a mission, and your Mom passed away, with you not there, just broke my heart. We had an Elder that served in my Ward back in Kiribati couple years ago, whose whole family died in an accident while he was all the way on the other side of the world 😭 serving his mission. I never met that Elder as I was also on a mission in Brisbane at that time, but I heard of his story when I got home and I just broke down! 😭 You guys are one of the strongest spirits up there! God knew you can cope with anything no matter how hard it is. My heart goes out to you and all those who have lost loved ones! ❤️ Families are forever! ❤️ Thank you Gentri for the wonderful touching song! One of my favorite hymns ❤️

September 26, 2015 suddenly and very unexpectedly, my precious mom passed away. This song was such a sweet remembrance of her. She loved hymns and would have loved this rendition.

Thank you...I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my husband 3 months ago from a brain cancer and stroke after his surgery, from which he didn't wake up. I've been telling my soul "be still...it is well, because of Christ...". I'll see him again when I get home.

Today is the first Father's Day without my Dad here since from April.
I’m listening to this song while I go to sleep and so many people hurting and mourning. And I’m pretty guarded with my heart so I just broke down crying and I haven’t had a hug in 2 months because I’m sick. I don’t know if it’s because my immune system is just sick but I don’t have a fever tonight. But everyone needs to understand that I’m being responsible and I would never expose anyone. So you have a voice and respectful. People want to get back to normal and not be on lockdown. They protest it’s their right to be outside. But what about me and others who stay in and it’s all for nothing because I have a right to get better and it’s violating their rights but what about our rights?.. please everyone keep in mind you can have your rights but at my expense and I will never get better. So your song makes me have hope and peace. I don’t know what I have but I do know I’m contagious... so this song helps peace to rest my mind and thank god for life time....you guys are awesome 😎

I lost a son and a daughter under very painful circumstances. I read the words to this song over and over for a year or more and finally the Love and hope of the message became greater than my grief and I finally knew all would be well in the end. My Mom died on December 13th 2015...My best friend lost his wife to cancer the year before that...and dad on June 20th 2007. Giant holes in my life that have never really been filled, but as much as I miss all of them, music like yours helps me keep perspective and take some comfort in knowing they are all remembered and that one day I will see them all again. My friend lost her husband ( my cousin) to lung cancer in 2012 just 2 days before his 41st birthday. She found a wonderful man who was so good to her and loved her so much. He passed 12/31/2019 from colon cancer. He was not yet 50 and had so many promising things to do. WE LOVE YOU JAMIE!! We will take care of Anjie for you. My heart just breaks for her, even with all the love, prayers and family support, this is utterly devastating. One thing to hold onto is that he is in the presence of God. I hope she keeps reaching out to us and knows how much we all love her. 😭💕💕

My dad had stage 3 melanoma cancer... He miraculously survived, but I definitely felt that pain, when finding his chances were less than 40% to live.
This is my most favorite arrangement ever! Stephen was surely guided by the Lord when he arranged this. Brings so much comfort to a soul.
