Watched Coleman play at Lincoln East. He was so lazy. They played Southwest and there was a physical corner matching up against him and Coleman folded like a lawn chair. Lazy routes. Zero catches. Dropped balls. Then just sat on the sideline for 2 quarters. No effort. Not gonna miss this guy at all.
If he couldn’t be a difference maker here, why do people think he’s gonna magically get a higher NIL deal and better program to walk into? He could have been our WR3 next year in a system he knows and a higher NIL deal than he’s gonna get transferring. Makes no sense. Teams with robust NIL and winning cultures aren’t going to throw money at a guy who couldn’t start on the 110th ranked offense.
Maybe he quit because the coaches didn't play him. Saying he didn't do the needed thing's maybe maybe not.. Maybe the coaches didn't get the starting personal correct. The guys this year haven't been that good coaches aren't always right
Ya think? Coleman is sitting on the sidelines while Nebraska's WR's are currently in the middle of one of the biggest disappearing acts of all time. If I were Coleman I'd say peace out too especially when you watch this staff take Raiola and ruin him from his early good play & high confidence.
This really saddens me. What a great young man. He always seemed like he was running in mud out of the box though. I felt like he was gone when they announced his redshirt.
If Malachi was coming along strong in development as a redshirt, he would have seen play time against USC or UCLA. Given he can have 4 games without burning his redshirt, we would have used him if it gave us a better opportunity to win. The fact that he didn't is probably indicative that he hasn't developed enough to crack the depth chart in the current room.
Look, if you knew anything about big time high school football sure as hell not in Nebraska. Yes, he looked good in high school but it was in Nebraska. Some of you are wondering way Nelson is not playing. Jesus he played 8 man football, it will take him at least 2 years to figure out what’s going on even if he has the talent.
I can’t believe this, Coleman is the best receiver on the team and we just let him go because we’ve been meat riding Isaiah neyor and Jamal banks who are mid as hell. I’ll bet Jaylen loyd and Gabe Irvin are gonna leave to. Matt rhule is just waisting all the potential he’s been given for old heads. Absolutely unbelievable. I really thought Coleman and raiola were the future of Nebraska. I can’t blame him tho. I would leave to if I was a 4 star with limitless potential riding the bench all sophomore season
Yeah, McGuire needs to be fired. The guys sucks. We need to be able to get separation and stretch the field. Neyor and Banks are spare at best and many times give little effort. Both Coleman and Lloyd can stretch the field.
Why do you think those guys will do anything at Nebraska when Nebraska is one of the single worst WR development schools in the country the past 30 years? They have 4 stars in the program already who don't do jack shit. Nebraska is where top WR's go to die.
There is a lot of rumors going around right now. We seriously need to get rid of McGuire. He sucks and because of this, our WRs have been freaking horrible and we likely spent more money in that room then almost anywhere else. If you can't develop a guy like Coleman, then you don't deserve the job. I hope this is not true, and it will piss me off if it is. You simply cannot convince me that Banks or Neyor deserve as much time as they have been getting. I bet that our adolescent wanna-be WR coach promised playing time to these two duds.
Part of rebuilding a program like this is culture and getting kids who buy into that culture who want to be there and the ones that don’t who cares. Indiana isn’t good because they have the best talent they’re good because they have a bunch of kids who’ve bought into what the coach wants to do.
He really wanted to go to Colorado from the beginning. His family talked him into staying home. If he doesnt go to Colorado, Colorado State would be a perfect fit. They have NFL draft pick Tory Horton leaving after this season and the Rams are trending upward
@femaleKCRoyalsFan Omarion Miller the WR at Colorado had the great relationship with Joseph. He was actually a Husker commit, then when Joseph left, Miller flipped to Colorado. Malachi Coleman was going to commit as well, they were on a Colorado recruiting trip together. Malachi was "crystal balled" by 247 Sports to Colorado. According to local reports in Colorado he signed with Nebraska due to his family's (mostly mom's) desire to stay close to home.
🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ ugh. I understand him wanting to leave, but the timing is questionable. I believe that he is a good kid, so I definitely think there is more to the story. It doesn't matter, though. What really stinks, though, is that a kid with so much potential didn't get some more opportunities, especially with the way the starters have not produced consistently enough this year. Welp... go be great somewhere, man! Wish you the best! #flylikechi And GBR 🏈🌽🎈☠️
Malachi should have played this season...period! Our other receivers (besides Barney) haven't been stellar at all. I said it a while back that he should be playing. This is a huge loss!!
What a dumpster fire Rhule has going. Train wreck extravaganza. Already fired his OC desperately, lost a 4 star offensive lineman recruit this week, Malachi Coleman bails, and the head coach is sitting at 0-8 in games to go to a bowl game. Rhule has been a massive disappointment to date. Total failure. Nebraska football remains a national embarrassment. And how do we know Coleman isn't any good? Garrett McGuire hasn't developed a thing....Banks, Neyor, Loyd are all on Milk Carton's & Walmart missing people boards.
Hopefully the kids on the team can muster up a win to experience a bowl game. Dudes not a team player if hes leaving like this. Transferring is one thing, being a cry baby is another. Nebraska needs tough dudes and this dude was soft.
please... he was one of the best blocking WRs we had last year. How many times do we watch Neyor jog through a route or not block at all? Who wouldn't be frustrated watching someone who has 1/3 the skillset get all of the playing time
Let him go. Lets concentrate on some 4 an d 5 star lineman and some big bruising running backs. The passing game is not been working. Lets get back to ground and pound
i know he's disappointed by not playing ,but Nebraska has a great History of developing players too the point where his could have become another Irving Fryer, or Matt Davidson, maybe Tom Waddle. so he must not be a team player
Because we likely promised playing time to Neyor & Banks, who can't block or get separation, but they are likely friends with McGuire, so that's a plus...
@@chadelles2586Or maybe he just isn’t good enough to play yet. Where he transfers to will tell the story. If it’s not upper tier power 4, then you’ll know.
He wasn't a strong route runner. Maybe coaching (probably) maybe his ability. I know other teams wanted him at DE not WR. It sucks but it doesn't suck as much as Betts. Betts to me was more talented and polished but didn't love football. In the end it hurts because both are homegrown kids that had abilities to get them far. Hope it works out for him wherever he ends up.
Idk, talent wise he definitely looked better last year as a true freshman than what we have this year.......my thoughts are coaches are failing to evaluate talent and/or only playing their favorites regardless of production... I've seen it happen before many times and thats what this feels like
I walked on to Nebraska in 1991 when I got out the military. I made the team as a walk on and was asked by Coach Ron Brown to join the team. I quit because I was married and she joined the Air Force. I haven't recovered yet in life. So sometimes you only get that one chance if you blow it that's it Dream ends.
Hate to say it, but those in the know aren't exactly surprised by this. The fact that he quit on his team with two games left says something about his character or possibly lack thereof. You simply couldn't have waited until the end of the season to hit the portal like everyone else?
Yeah that’s my biggest concern. It sucks, but I accept his decision to leave. But why did he have make to make this move now? It’s a massive distraction to our team that needs to win this Saturday.
@WilsonDittmanSports that's right because it's all about him, and coaches of potential transfer destinations are going to see that and question his commitment. I don't know if I were coaching a team that I would take a chance on him, unfortunately.
can't blame him, i tried to gove Matt Rhule the benefit of the doubt but this staff looks more and more incompetent by the week, like the last few staffs
I dont think this will hurt honestly as stated hes not playing he wont play next year and nebraska has to drop 30 guys off the roster next year thats 1 less guy who doesn’t want to be in lincoln

Probably another in a long list of reasons to fire the wide receivers coach/child.
Agreed. Get McGuire out of here
And the growing Matt Rhule disasters at Nebraska list.

Dropped balls. Then just sat on the sideline for 2 quarters. No effort. Not gonna miss this guy at all.
Can’t be shocked about transfers anymore. It’s the new nature of the CFB beast.
If he couldn’t be a difference maker here, why do people think he’s gonna magically get a higher NIL deal and better program to walk into?

He is still listed on the roster. Hope Holgerson can get him to stay.
That's unfortunate good luck and God bless his next year.
I wish him well. He’s got a bright future wherever he lands.
I hate this but I understand. I totally agree with you on our WR room being stacked. Dang
This really saddens me. What a great young man. He always seemed like he was running in mud out of the box though. I felt like he was gone when they announced his redshirt.
He always wanted to go to Colorado but stayed because his family is here.
Are you sure he wanted to go to Colorado? Remember when they were trying to get him to commit Frost was still the coach
It doesn't seem like the receiver corp is developing. Can't get open, can't block What needs to happen with the coaches?
Colorado has 4 true freshman playing this Saturday. Coleman to CU the home of our next HE12MAN.
Bro you called it, man can't have a Lincoln kid leave and a good WR. A big Fail.
Oh yeah, those wide outs are just tearing it up.
Quitting the team is weak. If you want to transfer fine. Quitting is revealing.
Revealed how bad it really is
@@marquisebrown2159Disagree. Sounds like a player that wasn’t earning time and decided to leave.
He wants to leave and go to a team that wins.
@@Troy-fv9uqPerhaps. But at a lower level.

Remember these kids are leaving the schools at this time to get into the December portal. Now he has time to negotiate NIL, fit, system, etc.
Thank you for another great video.
If Nebraska can get Michael Terry or Cortez Mills this won't hurt as much.

This was the biggest miss of the year for the coaching staff. Unbelievable

Not much of a loss though honestly as he never played much. He is either Heisman level talent or below average. We will find out next year I guess.
