- I dedicate this to my friend MsTappingtoes
Here is my Columbia 78 of this snappy foxtrot from 1926. with SING A LONG WORDS. .
recorded in Atlanta Georgia, Nov. 1, 1926 by the (Warner's) Seven Aces.
Col. 816-D
The video features the 78 playing with silent film of dancers from the 1920s.
My thanks to Ms Tappingtoes for her archival assistance!
The young flapper seen performing the original Black Bottom dance was Miss Mildred Melrose, from a wonderful Brit. Paathe preview!.
The Black Bottom was first danced on Broadway by Ann Pennington in George White's Scandals. It became a smash hit across the nation. So popular that it spawned spin off tunes like this one! Enjoy !
